Turns out my water heater was 12 years old (I had just purchased my house). He recommended I replace it, but was never pushy. He gave me different brand options based on my financial situation. He also repaired my toilet that wasn't properly bolted to the floor. It turned out to be a more extensive repair than I had previously thought. He took his time, explained what he was doing and why he needed to do it. He was on time, kind, respectful, extremely knowledgeable, and very thorough. I okayed that and got a text message 5-10 minutes later and replied Yes to accept the service. Then I got another text about 15 minutes later from the Service Technician saying he will be here in about an hour. After that text he arrived about 20 minutes later introduced himself and I showed him the problem. His name is Mr. Galu - I hope I spelled it correctly. My first impression was he is friendly, clean-cut, professional, courteous, competent, and wearing a mask. He went to the front of the house to look at the round pipe above the ground and saw bush roots around it. He cut the bush and roots, okay by me and I helped, and then got an electric "snake" to go down the pipe and reversed it out. This cleared out everything blocking the pipe and all was back to normal again. He asked if we had a dog and if we bathe the dog in the tub which we do. He saw a lot of dog hair and most likely was the problem after 12 years of baths. More good news! He recommended Roto-Rooter Preventative Pipe Shield Maintenance Treatment - 1 Gallon - good for at least 64 treatments and will last a year. I definitely want something like this. He had some with him and had it added to the invoice. He explained and showed me how to mix it with water, when and how to do. It is only once a month. The next day I purchased a screen to place over the tub opening to keep any dog hair from going down the drain again. I am completely satisfied and highly recommend Roto-Rooter and especially our Service Technician Mr. Galu as he is the best and would like to give him Special Thanks And Recognition (STAR) - Thank you.

I actually found Dempsey through my home warranty company when my water heater stopped working…read more Dempsey called me not long after my service request was placed and got me scheduled for the earliest date they could which was 3 days out. We had hot water in the tank still so we were ok. Sunday came and my babe spoke to Alex, the tech that came out. Alex is amazing and he's so cool to chit-chat with. He showed us everything that was going on with the water heater and why it needed to be replaced. He saw that the heating element was crusty and corroded and all that was settling to the bottom of the tank making the tank hard to drain. It was total loss on a newish water heater. So with that the next step was to check back with the warranty company to see what the next step was...which was a denial. I talked to Dempsey about it and they explained the why and what now. They were really courteous and I stuck with them because of the great service and we chose an option directly with them then scheduled a new water heater installation on Wednesday. Alex came back out that Wednesday. When I was with him and got the water heater drained he was finally able to pull out the heating element and show me what it shouldn't look like. My gosh. Get a water softener folks, it's completely worth it. While the new water heater wasn't as cool looking as our last one, it does its job and it's nice to have hot water again. Thank you!
