You go in, donate blood (takes about 30 minutes), they give you cookies, a lollipop, some water, your $50, and you're done! You must wait 56 days between donations. The staff is really nice, and Tom (the director) is just the greatest! This place passes your blood on to be used in medical research, not as transfusions or to otherwise be given to another person. I dunno if that matters to anyone, just thought I'd toss it in there, since I knew it.

I donate whole blood and the whole process takes an hour from checking in to finish. I recommend completing the Rapidpass online to save some time. Once you check in you wait in the waiting area for your name to be called. Then they take you into a back room and ask some of the same questions as the Rapidpass. Next, they do a fingerstick to check your hemoglobin and get a full set of vitals (pulse, blood pressure, temperature). After donating blood, they offer you snacks and sometimes a free shirt. The only downside is that parking can be tough to find. I recommend coming on a Sunday when it's less busy and to get the free meter parking.

They provide free parking, the process is so streamlined, you are out in no time and the workers there are skilled. NO PAIN! Plus free t shirts and treats after! You have to have certain numbers for heart rate blood pressure and iron in your blood which they do all tests before you can donate. I've given whole blood here but what I usually donate is blood platelets it's more needed according to staff and you can donate I believe every week or so unlike whole blood which takes longer although I forget exact length of time. Once you read and sign forms have those tests done you're ready to go. They have these curved padded chairs which are very comfortable there's TV's u can control and if u get cold blankets. Like I said I do Platelets and it usually takes about an hour and a half I stay on long enough to make Platelets for 2 people I guess I'm fortunate for some reason i have lots of Platelets I think single donations are about an hour but everyone's different. Although I don't like needles I donate because I know it'll help someone and I'm not rich to donate enough money to make a difference but I do have blood and I always feel better after donating it's a good feeling. They validate parking for you so parking is free

The office is beautiful. Modern, clean and professional. The staff is super nice and accommodating and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable throughout the whole process... The money is way more than any other place will pay you and you get paid quickly. (The other places can take 4-6 weeks to pay)... As far as the actual procedures... they are easy and nothing to worry about. Even the bone marrow donation (which sounds a little scary!) was simple. The doctor and nurse were fantastic and put me at ease during the whole process by explaining what is going on. Honestly, all I felt during the entire 45 min procedure was a little pressure during the extraction and it only lasted a minute... The majority of the time is just the staff setting up for the actual procedure... *** This is the best and most generous $$$ research Lab I have ever gone to... If you want some quick and easy cash, while feeling good about doing a very great thing in helping crucial medical research, then this is definitely a Win/Win!!!
