Kind of an old ladies gabbing vibe, but in a rather good way: sharing their wisdom, giving you a window into another time, and making your hair shorter and nicer. One of my work buddies recommended this salon for color services and cuts. Vassi was great and communicated via text and photos and said she'd be able to achieve something similar to my desired look. We scheduled my color 2 weeks out because she's super busy, but I went in same day for a cut. Victor was fantastic and gave me an edgy lob/bob. Vassi checked my hair out in person and we confirmed for two weeks, so I'll update this weekend. They're super professional and friendly, and the venue is cozy and clean. I saw a few other clients while there, and they seemed really pleased with their hair services too! Moderate pricing for the area, and services need to be scheduled individually, i.e. blowout and haircut. I'm looking forward to returning this week to see how the color turns out. Update: Took about 3 hours, and I love the cool blonde with silver highlights! Vassi and Victor did a really great job and I love the color. Most surprising was how healthy my roots feel after it all compared to my processed ends from previous treatments. Super awesome experience, and I'll be coming back for cut and color needs. This hair salon is amazing. Vashi, its owner, has not disappointed. She gave me a keratin treatment twice, which made my hair bright and shining; it gave it texture it never before had. In addition, I recently wanted to transition into gray, and she blonde highlighted my dark hair. The color is beautiful, and this transition will now be much easier. I found out about this salon when I walked in for their $20 first time client hair cut and I've been hooked ever since! Vasi is beyond amazing at color. She is up to date with current trends (she hand paints my highlights) and gives honest advice that's refreshing. If she doesn't think it will match you or sees any possible issues, she'll tell you. Vasi is one of the rare neighborhood Greek mothers that everyone stops by to see to share feelings, catch up and walk out with fabulous hair. (Or you can just sit there if you're not the chatty type). I have extremely thick, kinky, curly hair...and I mean it's unmanageable. Every week I would spend 3 1/2 hours using a flat iron to straighten my hair and while it got my hair straight there was no life to it. My hair was flat, harsh and broken. A few years ago I got the Keratin treatment done at a salon in Westchester County with the hope that I would have hair I could fall in love with, but that wasn't the case. The woman did it wrong and I still spent 3 1/2 hours straightening my hair with the same crappy results. I recently visited CH Salon to get the Keratin treatment done and I can finally, for the first time in my life, say that I am in love with my hair! What used to take me 3 1/2 hours now only takes me 10 minutes. My hair is now soft, smooth, shiny, and moves! It has life and feels natural and healthy! After finding CH SalonNYC on Yelp, I walked in off the street yesterday to check the prices. The prices are good! For the neighborhood, they are great! For a cut with Vasi it's $50 (and up, perhaps?) and for another stylist it's $35. But a blow dry is more. But still. It's a good price! And everyone was very friendly. Marta cut my hair, and she listened to my desires and concerns and gave me her suggestions. She then gave me the best hair cut I've had in years. (A lob with a bit of layering in the back). Vasi was wonderful -- great sense of color, and she cut my hair in a very flattering shape (something my old stylist never tried before).
