I placed the order in the store and was amazed at how quickly I got my food. The dish also came with a small side salad which was a nice addition for the price. It's a perfect little meal that is very filling. The boba was great, with the right amout of softness & sweetness. So soft. I think one of the best bobas I've had. I recommend to try the boba. However I was a little disappointed they didn't give more tho. I felt like my regular cup had a less than average amount. Recently got classic milk tea and mango green tea catered for our party and the whole experience was great! Calvin, the manager, helped us decide on sweetness level and even let us sample the drinks to make sure everything was good before placing an order for catering. We also had another place we were considering but Calvin was so helpful and nice that we just decided after the visit to stick with Cha for Tea. The one thing that was a deciding point for us was the fact that even though we went during peak hours to sample the drinks, once Calvin was free to help us, he gave us his full attention and never once made us feel rushed to decide. Cha has been a favorite spot for me ever since I started college. They give discounts to LB students sometimes, have pretty good boba, and cheap (and pretty tasty) food. I've never really had a bad experience here which is crazy considering how much I frequent this place. Service: Very fast and nice people! They put in alot of new stuff for COVID and were closed for a few days to go that as well. They finally put up a big menu on the wall which is awesome. Interior: usually lots of seats and tables and its pretty comfortable. Post-COVID: There is alot of space to wait inside and also pretty hands free experience other than signing the receipt and getting the drinks. BOBA: super soft and chewy, really nice texture. I really like how you can do 50/50 with lychee or pudding and it doesn't cost extra. Drinks: -Mango Green Tea: Highly recommend! This place has definitely been a solid joint to go to for tea and boba after all these years back in high school and now finishing college. To start off, this can be a good place to study but its really more of a place to kind of hang out or catchup with friends. This wouldn't be my number one spot to go to, but when the stars align and im in the area, or its late and having cravings for tea (which I always have) then wouldnt mind coming to this place at all. Drinks: They have some of the more common teas available which are all for the most part are pretty solid. I would recommend trying out the free samples they have by the pickup station, that should help you a bit in deciding what to get. Parking: Tons of parking, might have to walk just a little bit (like 30 seconds really). BE AWARE THAT THE PARKING LOTS ARE ONE WAY AND YOU HAVE TK SNAKE AROUND. Also. Plenty of entrances into the plaza, you dont necesarilly only have to come in from bellflower. Service: Workers are fast and good at what they do, now that I think about it after like 8 years I dont think I've ever really experienced horrible service, or even food really. Awesome folks like julio, and clean bathroom. Price: I think the prices are fairly reasonable and dont go over board like some ther boba shops. If youre getting a regular drink I'd say go light ice though just incase you want a bit more sips. Ambience: This place is filled with predominately college students especially at night who are either studying, hanging out, or just come in packs for their boba fixes. This is pretty normal so when you walk in dont be surprised. I went in and ordered 3 drinks, 2 were made right away within minutes, I waited for the 3rd and watched the girl messed up and remake it but overall it was still fast! I was in and out in less than 10 min. Now the reason for my review... I walkout out got in the car when I realized she messed up again NO BOBA! I walked back in told her "hey it's suppose to have boba" she said "sorry I'll get that" I went in to use the restroom and when I walked out the drink was just there on the counter. The reason why I'm upset: the drink was a medium already to the top (without the boba) she scooped out some of the drink and put the boba on TOP! and pushed some to the bottom. Personally I don't think there's anything remarkable about the tea here, however I will comment that their take on food you would find at a "typical boba place" is pretty good. I feel like most places that have popcorn chicken tend to over-fry and dry it out the chicken bits. Cha tea somehow figures out how to fry up the bits to give that crispy taste without feeling like you just ate a bunch of sandpaper. When you buy a meal combo, even their corn tastes surprisingly fresh and not like they just scraped the bottom of a can to serve to you like many other places do. In terms of infrastructure, they parking lot is a bit busy because there are other popular restaurants nearby and a Target, but cars here don't speed through so you can feel safe walking around. Thee are plexiglass screens and hand sanitizer is available when you order. No seating inside, but there are metal chairs outside shared with adjacent restaurants. My only request is that the workers wear gloves, but they are all masked properly and are cognizant of space. Overall, decent tea, good food, and mostly COVID prepared. read more

I try to find new local eateries when i do eat in long beach. I was walking around target when i found this little gem within walking distance sharing the same parking lot with other businesses. The location offers a few seating areas both against the wall and large tables. Most of the tables were already being used by the locals. The staff here were friendly and ready to answer my questions pertaining to the food menu. I ordered the Popcorn chicken meal (Salad, Corn, Rice, Sweet N Sour Sauce). They allow substitutions (extra rice,extra corn). The condiment bar offers packets of Sriracha or you can get some from the bottle as well as Ketchup. Beside the pick up window they offer samples of different teas that are clearly labeled. My favorite was the Honey Green Tea. It was the perfect combination of green tea with a bit of honey but it wasn't overwhelming sweet. I'm not sure if they offer Wifi but they do offer discounts only to High School Students and not college students/etc. .. the lunch staff 12/6 around 2PM gave exceptional customer service. I believe i got to interact with the Manager of the location and it was clear that he truly cares about building trust with the patrons and going above to make sure the customers order is correct and they walk out pleased with the service. read more

This one is near my school, so we started to hang out there frequently. Located in the same plaza of Target and CVS, there are plenty space of parking. The store is clean and neat with modern decoration. There are tables for working or studying. Customer service is great and fast. They also have sample bottles for some of their signature drinks. My favorite drinks so far are Honey green milk tea and Matcha Latte. The milk tea is on point, a strong hint of tea that well blends with creamy fresh milk. This one is more lean on the sweet side. I got regular sweetness level (which is 4 pumps of sugar syrup for a regular cup) and it turned out a little but over. However, when I wait for it to water down a little bit, the drink came out with the perfect sweet level I like. Matcha latte is my favorite since it has matcha powder blends with fresh milk. This one is perfect as it is, so I did not adjust anything on the sweet level. The visual effect is also impressive that you can see 3 layers when the drink comes out: green for of matcha, white for the milk, and brown layer for the syrup and boba. I have to mention Cha for tea boba because of the chewiness and the sweet level is perfect that can go well with the drinks. While other stores locating near schools have discount promotion for students with their IDs, I did not see anything like that of this teahouse. I've ordered their taro boba before which was delicious, but I wanted to try their simbala sausage meal. Overall I liked it. I personally think they were solid portions. The rice, corn and salad were simple but delicious. The simbala sausage was good. It's a harder pork sausage you'd find in SE/Asian cooking. It looks small but 2 sausages really go a long way as it packs a lot of flavor. It's also sweet, similar to filipino sausage (tocino). Their drinks are the same. Still good! I had their Almond Tea, their number one seller. First sip and ahhh... It's still the best! I'm giving 4 stars because the location is not cozy. The one in Irvine is very nice and cozy. It separates it from other boba places because they have food and the place is nice. This location is just like any other boba place. Happy that they had my hot entrees and drink ready in less than 15 minutes considering they just had opened. If you've been to enough boba shops you will understand where I'm coming from. Someone needs to take control of this location. The lines are long because they seem to be always understaffed even though there's A LOT Of employees. To skip the line, place the order online. I arrived 5 minutes after my pick up time due to my experience coming here and always having to wait beyond their promised ETA. This time, they couldn't find my order. After they remade it, one of the drinks came damaged and leaking. They don't use the sealed tops, and they use the WORST cups. I've had numerous occasions where drinks fell apart before I even made it to my car. They've always remade those drinks but why should that even happen? SPEND A LITTLE MORE ON YOUR CUPS PLEASE!!! Lastly, the popcorn chicken here is decent, but they give you the BARE minimum. I always order two orders because one is simply not enough. And they're $5 EACH! I came to Cha For Tea after picking up a few items from Target (they share the same parking lot). Line was fairly short and the store was practicing social distancing. I ordered 2 small drinks. Taro Cooler: Very refreshing and just what you need on a hot day. The taro taste was really strong, which I like, and it felt like I was having a slushie. Mango Green Tea w Jelly Fruit: One of their more popular items. I thought the drink was pretty good. The mango taste was very subtle and I didn't add too much sweetener to it. Service was a bit slow due to the fact that they were servicing orders from online and deliveries in between orders for in person pick-up.
