Please note this is purely on their lack of AC not their service. Please turn on the AC. It was a sauna in there. It was actually cooler outside than inside. This seems to be a deliberate decision by management, not it not working. I bought my drink and food and left. Normally I enjoy eating there and getting some work there. Ordered catering platters from this place and boy did they kill it! Even on top of another huge order they were able to squeeze my order in on time before my son's birthday party. This has always been our go to place for crispy chicken and boba and they truly never disappoint! Price was reasonable. A bit of a hard one, but it was just ok for me. Service, location, speed of drink being ready were are great. I ordered one of my go to drinks which I often get when first trying a new place. Compared to other places, it didn't match up. They offer various levels of sweetness which was a definitely plus. I just found my matcha beverage to be very light in taste, almost watery, but with the sweetness of boba. Layered for a nice presentation which made it photo worthy, but ended there for me. Cha has a special place in my heart as it's the first boba I EVER tried when I was 18 and a freshman at CSULB. I was obsessed from my first sip of almond black milk tea. I moved back to Long Beach this year and I'm ecstatic to live near a Cha For Tea again; it's just as delicious as I remember! I used to only get the ABMT, but I've ventured out and also love the honey green milk tea. The iced mango green tea goes so hard in the summer -- with or without boba! First time trying this boba shop, recommended by my friend. I always like to try Thai tea at these types of shop as a base line. Unfortunately their Thai tea tasted watered down and not sweet. If it wasn't for the boba it would have been bland. However the crispy chicken with the sweet and sour sauce was delicious. Went to this boba spot on a weeknight and it was surprisingly busy -- people were constantly coming in and out, which got me curious. One thing that immediately stood out was their self-serve milk tea sample station, which I've never seen before. Their #1 seller is an almond milk tea, and normally I'd skip over that on any menu, but since it was available to taste, I gave it a shot. Honestly? A lot better than I expected. I'd actually consider ordering it next time. I ended up getting the passion fruit mint refresher with lychee jelly, and here's the thing -- it was refreshing, but I couldn't taste the passion fruit at all. That was disappointing because passion fruit is usually such a strong flavor, but instead it mostly just tasted like mint-lime tea. Not necessarily bad, but more bitter than expected, and definitely not what I was hoping for. The place itself had a good vibe, the service was quick, and even though it was busy, the staff seemed like they were handling everything smoothly. Overall, I left a little bummed my drink didn't hit the flavor mark, but I would come back again to try something else, especially because I love that they let you sample teas. Cha for Tea might be a little nostalgic as it was something that I used to pick up years and years ago when studying as an undergraduate. It's still a favorite of mine. My go to drink here is the honey jasmine milk tea with boba. The honey is the perfect sweetener, the balance between milk and tea is perfect, and the boba is perfectly chewy. I love that the warm boba is consistently chewy every time I come. Their popcorn chicken is also a great snack and I can't resist buying it. If I'm in the area, I almost always stop by here for a drink. I definitely stop by if I'm in my old stomping grounds in Irvine. This review has been long overdue. I started coming here when I was in high school and I'm so happy to see that their business is still thriving 10 yerars later! It's unfortunate that they don't have some items on the menu anymore such as the royal milk tea (it was one of the best drinks! Bring it back if possible please) and fried green beans. Since I'm in town I have made it a task to come in any chance that I get because they have the best BOBA and crispy chicken! Whoever runs the store and those in charge of their shifts are doing a great job. I say this because I've been here two times this week - my guilty pleasure - and everytime I've came in they have been attentive and very informative with their products. I didn't get the name of the cashier who helped me, but she was the same person that took my order everytime I came in. The ambiance here can get very loud with college students hollering and the music playing at the same time. I came here for dinner and the vibes were amazing. It brings me back to my college days lol it was pretty busy so beware of that. On my 2nd visit they said they were having a fundraiser so that made sense. I have been going to Cha For Tea for years, and recently made a visit again. I was pleasantly surprised that they are still maintaining the same quality drinks and service. Cha for Tea is an amazing boba spot for many reasons. They don't go toooo fancy like those "handcrafted high quality etc etc" boba shops with $7-8 specialty drinks but they have a huge variety of delicious drinks that you can choose from. They also have samples of their most popular drinks sometimes so you can try to see if there's something you like before ordering it. I do believe their drinks are on the sweeter side so I always opt to do less pumps than normal. Additionally, they serve snacks and even full meals; I'm a fan of their popcorn chicken! All of my interactions with their customer service has been friendly and they are always open to helping customers with making any adjustments. For my first meal I tried their Crispy Chicken ($11) which came with rice or noodles, corn and salad. We took this to go and sat outside just in case we had to rush back to work. But I do remember thinking that the plate they put it in was way bigger than the portion size. I recently tried their Beef Stew ($13) which comes with rice or noodles, salad and corn. I got mine with rice and also thought this was just okay. There was a lot of meat for a small meal, but the taste was very plain. Not a lot of salt, but not a whole lot of flavor. Both times I didn't order a drink because I'm trying to cut back on sugar. The service was great though, the cashier were nice and patient while I was figuring out what I wanted. I was in Long Beach by the VA center and went back to Cha for another perfectly made chai boba tea and decided to eat lunch there also. The menu is right there on the wall as you walk in. Healthy light options of Asian favorites very fairly priced.
