Okay I am from Lahore, Pakistan but my ancestors are from Pahalgam, Kashmir. So that makes me a Punjabi with Kashmiri heritage. Kashmiri tea is very prominent in my Kashmiri heritage and family history. Samosas are very prominent in the Punjabi street food culture. Combining both of them for a snack is very prominent to me in order to remain in touch with my roots. There is one place that does justice to both Kashmir tea and samosas. That place is none other than Cha Street Food. Hands down the best. 5/5 for letting me stay in touch with who I am. Bonus point for imlee sauce and green chutney.
The food comes in good portions and is definitely a solid value for the price. Everything tasted pretty good overall, though the flavors are a bit on the simplistic side. Nothing mind-blowing, but it gets the job done and leaves you satisfied. I'd come back when I want something affordable.
I honestly would not recommend the high tea because you can get everything as individual items for probably a lot less than $50. I would not get the kashmiri chai because it was too much milk. The Samosa was a heavy fried dumpling filled lentils. The zinger slider / mini chicken sandwich was good and quite tiny. The tikka wrap was nice but nothing special. The spicy mayo fries are nicely spiced and paired with a very not spicy mayo. I did like the variety in the assortment of sweets such as the Gulab jamun and mango mousse. Honestly though, I'd probably just get things ala carte. It will make you pretty full, but it felt kinda imbalanced and it felt like I was just eating heavy food that doesn't make you feel any good after.
Really good tea experience at CHA Street Food. The restaurant is attached to Tysons Mall so the venue is a little small and they don't take reservations. I loved the elements on the tea stand -- a chicken zinger burger, a chicken tikka roll, fries in a spicy mayo, chat papri, kheer, gulab jamun and a mango mousse. We went as a group so we tried all 3 chai options -- our favorite was the Kashmiri pink chai. The house chai came in second. There was actually too much food, so we had leftovers but the price is really reasonable. The downside is the service is for 2 people. They do offer a "mild" version, but then the entire tea service will be prepared that way. They offer a vegetarian version of the service featuring paneer instead of chicken. They have a lot of other menu options too, but I went there specifically for the tea service. It did not disappoint! I will definitely go back. One piece of advice for the restaurant-- find a way to different the teas (different colored pots or some kind of marker on the pot). Since we ordered all 3 teas we had to keep track of where the pots were on the table. Overall, a great culinary experience and I can't wait to go back!
First time dining here, the decoration to the restaurant is pretty, the food was pretty decent. I ordered the kashmiri pistachio chai tea, the zinger chicken bowl, Mirchi fries, and my friend got the chicken tikka roll with the samosa. The bowl was decent, chicken was crispy and hot, chicken tikka roll was alright, fries had flavor and the samosa was just ok, it was heavily filled with potato. The tea was probably my favorite thing out of all the items we ordered. Definitely a place to try again.
My husband and I tried the High Tea experience yesterday and enjoyed it. We ordered the regular version which came with meat items like zinger sliders and chicken tikka rolls. They also had masala fries and samosas. The savory items came in multiples of two but the sweets did not. There were two servings of gulab jamun, but there were two other little desserts that were only one of each. If the high tea experience is for two people you'd expect each person to get one of each item, so that part was a little disappointing because those two other desserts - a mango lassi like mousse and kheer - were quite delicious but very tiny to share. As for the tea options, you can choose either regular chai, masala chai or upgrade to Kashmiri chai. We opted for masala chai which was good - just know they do not add sugar so if you are use to it being a little sweet add sugar. Overall, this tea experience was good and a great deal at $45. I'd come back to try the vegetarian option and a different tea. Besides the tea experience itself, the little restaurant is decorated so lively with bright colors. And the service was quick and friendly.
This is my favorite place to grab some Desi yummy food at Tyson's corner mall. I have been going there ever since it's opened to satisfy my cravings buds :) The service is always nice and above and beyond. It's not a big place but always find table if we decide to dine in. All of their menu items are outclass, I never had any problems ever. The most favorite ones for me are smash burger, chaat papri, samosa chaat, chicken Tikka roll and those new Dubai chocolate samosas. I highly recommend this place if you are hungry and want to grab a bite around Tyson's area.
I visited O'Cha on a Sunday around noon, located inside Tysons Corner Mall. The spot is charming and very instagrammable - especially the whimsical hallway that makes you feel like you've been transported somewhere else. We came specifically for the Vegetarian High-Team Menu, which offers a unique Pakistani twist on the classic afternoon tea. It included Spicy Mayo Fries, Chaat Papri, Samosa Chaat, Paneer Roll, Aloo Slider, Gulab Jamun, Kheer, Mango Mouse, and a choice of Chai (we chose the Kashmiri Chai). The spicy may fries were delicious - crispy with a nice sauce Initially we didn't realize the Chaat Papri and Samosa Chaat were separate dishes, but once clarified, the Samosa Chaat stood out with its a samosa base and bold flavors The Paneer Roll (a cheese wrap) and the Aloo Slider (a potato sandwich) were both alright, though I preferred the slider. For dessert, the Mango Mousse was the clear winner-light, creamy, and packed with flavor. The Kashmiri Chai was made with whole milk and had a mild taste, though not my favorite. Portion-wise, it was more than enough for two people. We couldn't finish everything. The food did take a while to come out, but the staff explained there was a. Large high-tea order ahead of us. Overall, it was a fun and flavorful experience that offered something different from the usual mall fare.

CHA Street Food doesn't mess around when it comes to Aesthetics. A mix between Red, Yellow, Pink, Blue Colors just showcases how vibrant they want the environment to be. It's very trendy and I could see why people who would come here would come here to just for the looks alone. Right around the corner from Mamam Joon lies CHA. It's very fast casual as you have lots of spacious tables to sit and choose from but you just order up at the counter and pick up your food when called. I came here on mid afternoon where there was only just me. I wasn't there for too long as I ordered the Zinger Chicken Sandwich & Mirchi Fries and a can of Coke because why not. The Zinger Chicken Sandwich consisted of a piece of Fried Chicken fried well, lettuce, and spicy red mayo sauce. It wasn't spicy biting into it but it was a delicious crunch when I was able to taste everything all at once. The Mirchi Fries were interesting as the dry seasoning that's coated all over them did have a small kick but it bring out more flavor when biting into one. I really did enjoy these a lot and would order again if I came back. Besides from aesthetics, it's clear of what CHA Street Food wants to be. A modern twist to what Indian Street Food is that caters for anyone looking for a quick bite or a nice place to hang out. Check this place out.
We went here after a movie and the decor is super cute with the pink and yellow colorful windows. It definitely looks inviting when you walk inside. It's a bit small, and sort of dark. I also liked the paintings of various scenes like kite flying. There's a small fridge area to buy some prepackaged items. This is fast casual so you order at the front and pick up the items when they're ready, and it was fairly quick. We got the iced kashmiri tea which was exactly what I expected, refreshing and sweet chai, with an interesting touch adding nuts inside. I'd be curious to try the kashmiri shake next time. You can request the tea to be hot or cold and specify how much sugar. I was excited to try the gulab jamen but when we got it, there were only 2 of them in there so it's definitely not worth the price so that was pretty disappointing. The garnish was pretty though with the nuts and petals.
want to start off by saying place is nice and food was not bad either. But Mr. Mauricio was very rude. We ordered for about $250+ worth of food since we came from Miami, FL and a family member recommended this place. I ordered kids meal which is also labeled as "Bacha Meal" on their physical menu that is placed on the wall holder and all over the tables. I ordered a kids meal and when they gave me the meal, they didn't give the juice. I went back asking for juice and he said juice is not included, but their menu stated juice is included. I asked him to just give the juice because that's the only thing left and I ordered that meal so my kid can enjoy a complete meal. He said he can't do anything And that the menu is old. I told him I picked it up from the table and I asked him to look around. He refused to look and said he cannot do anything about this because the menu is "old" so I was confused. I asked him if it's old then when do they have it printed all over the restaurant. He kept saying it's old and I picked it up from "outside" when they have it placed all over the restaurant. He said he can't do anything about that. I then asked him how would I have knows it's old when i just ordered off their official printed menus. He then responded saying "you should've ask" this is honestly the first time have witnessed something like this when it's clearly their menu and I'm asking for a box of juice for my kid. He refused to do anything and said he is the supervisors and there is nothing I can do about this situation. I can't believe he lost a huge family customer and rather have this review than just giving my kid a 50cent juice box which they're offering on their menus.
Pakistani street food in Tysons corner mall. Very pretty ambiance and reasonably priced. We had this on the to go list for a while and happened to be in the area today. The food DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The flavors were spot on! We had the spicy zinger chicken burger, paneer salad bowl and special chai. The paneer bowl was just okay since it was just a slab of lightly seasoned paneer that was deep fried. The chicken burger was fantastic and chai was remarkable! There is no table service but the food arrived promptly. Will visit again!
Came here to hang out with family and had a great time. They have an outdoor seating area, and the decor inside is really beautiful and fits the cultural ambiance perfectly. The menu is also great for a nice cha/chai hangout, and they offer different flavors of cha too. Overall, it's a really nice spot to relax and spend time with family and friends. Nice Indian fast food spot with mild spicy food. The Paneer Burger hits the spot! The crispy Paneer Burger was delicious with a thick fried patty of paneer with lettuce and spicy mayo on a toasted bun. I prefer the Burger over the Wrap. The Paratha tortilla as a bit oily and heavy and the bun is a bit lighter. The Aloo Tikki Bun was simple and tasty with just lettuce and onion tucked in a sesame bun, I recommend opting out of the American cheese. The crispy Veggie Samosa is very tasty and a good size. The Mango Lassi was creamy and a refreshing smoothie. I've come back countless times for the Paneer Burger, Aloo Tikki Burger, and Samsosa! read more

Visited Cha Street Food and was initially excited to try the food, but there was a strange odor in the air when I walked in, which made me decide to keep it simple and just order the masala chai. The chai was decent -- plenty of spice, though it wasn't very sweet. The restaurant itself is cute and inviting when you first walk in, and the service was quick since we received our drinks promptly. I'd still consider going back to try some of the food and see if the overall experience improves. read more

Very cute space, nicely decorated. Visited on a rainy day so wasn't able to take advantage of their outdoor space but definitely would on a nicer day. Service was good for a fast casual restaurant, no complaints workers seemed friendly. I had the loaded fries and samosa which both were very good and filling. I also tried the strawberry mint lemonade which was good but not sure it was $8 good. The prices for the food were good for quality and portion size. I would definitely visit again for the food. read more
Loved their paan shake! The spicy zinger burger was my favorite, the sauce is more flavorful than the actual chicken. The chaat and samosa was OK. The decor is so cute and there's tons of indoor and outdoor seating with games to play. Definitely recommend coming with friends and family to hang out and sip on some tea and snacks read more

While out shopping at the mall, we stopped by Cha. To start, there was quite a bit of seating inside as you walk in the restaurant, near the kitchen area, and outside! The weather happened to be nice this particular afternoon so we sat outside. I opted for the Zinger Chicken sandwich, a fried chicken sandwich with lettuce, cheese, and spicy mayo. While the majority of the sandwich tasted very good, they were was a portion that was very tough and hard to eat, I think it may have been an off piece or something, but the portion I was able to eat was very tasty. We also got an order of the spicy mayo fries and 2 samosas. The samosas were delicious with fresh and well seasoned veggies wrapped and fried and to perfection. Now the spicy Mayo fries were the best part of our visit. I was a tad skeptical at first as I usually don't opt for Mayo to pair with my fries, but these are a wonderful exception. The fries were perfect, crispy enough so that they weren't soggy once topped with mayo. And the spicy Mayo was excellent. I would highly recommend both the spicy mayo fries and samosas! My girlfriend ordered the crispy paneer rice bowl which was very tasty. The paneer was well seasoned as was the chickpea/onion mixture in the bowl as well. It also was topped with tomatoes and cucumbers as well as a small bit of spring salad mix. I did agree with her that a topping of sauce or even the spicy Mayo would have been a nice addition, but overall the bowl was a nice and refreshing choice. read more

My girlfriend was scrolling and came across CHA Street Food in search. I recognized it as the food truck that was outside of Springfield mall so I figured why not give it a shot. It's located at Tysons 1 so obviously there's a lot of parking it just depends on when you go. Sunday morning wasn't too bad though. The decor of this place is beautiful and very colorful but it isn't too big. The woman running the cashier was super polite and helpful to us. We ordered the Chaat Papri, the Shammi Kabob Burger, the Zinger burger, an iced ginger tea, and an iced Kashmiri tea. We got a pager and decided to sit around the corner in their street seating area which almost looked like we were outside. Only had to wait about 10 minutes before everything ready. The Chaat Papri tasted really great but it's a little more watery than I'm used to. The Zinger burger is one of the most perfect looking chicken sandwiches I've ever seen. The flavors were also really good and they fried it perfectly. The Kashmiri tea was really unique to me and had a great flavor. Not too sweet either. I had a little of the Shammi Kabob burger and it was an odd texture but the flavors were there. The ginger tea on the other hand wasn't for me. I would absolutely come back here. There are so many desserts that I didn't even get to try that I need to check out. read more

What a hidden gem! I passed by CHA a few times before, but never ventured in until my friend wanted to check it out. We ordered a couple different things to try. I really enjoyed the crispy paneer roll, but it could've used a bit more sauce. The mirchi fries were decent. I wasn't a huge fan of the drinks that we ordered. The location is pretty small so there isn't a whole lot of seating. The food is made fairly quickly and it's great for a quick bite while you're strolling the mall. I actually liked the crispy paneer roll so much that I ended up coming back the next night for it again. :P read more

The spice mayo fries were soooo good. My friend and I got the chicken tikka bowl and we both loved it. I just wish it came with more chicken. Service was quick and the interior of the restaurant is decorated beautifully. read more

Kahmiri chai is delicious. Closest spot to my workplace for my halwa puri fix. At the sterling location, they have a breakfast high-tea. Only available on weekends i think. The decor is beautiful. read more

3.5 stars TL;DR: very cute interior, food comes out fast, tastes yummy INTERIOR/VIBES: ~This spot is tucked away in the corner of Tysons mall near Bloomingdales. They have access from the mall and from the parking lot/outside. There is a lot of seating inside and outside (for when it's nice out). It's fast casual, so you order at the counter, then pick up your food when it's ready. FOOD: ~Spicy Mayo Fries (5/5): So yummy! Crisp shoestring fries with the perfect amount of sauce. Garlic sauce was amazing ~Beef Kabab Rice Bowl (2.5/5): The meat was essentially the patties they used for their burger ripped up. The rice was very bland, and there was a lot of water at the bottom from the veggie accompaniments that come with it. But the chickpeas were really good ~Samosa Chaat (3.5/5): really good when you get the perfect bite. Also a bit watery, but flavors were good. Also, when they add all the veggies on top, it cools down the temperature a little, so not as hot as I'd like it to be, but would definitely get it again ~Falooda (4/5): Very floral in flavor and very sweet! But there was something addicting to it. Personally wouldn't be able to drink a whole one by myself Overall, this place was cute and photo worthy! Food was so flavorful! I like the innovative/modern touch on traditional flavors. I will say that the food is a bit pricey, especially considering its location in the mall. They had me at falooda! And the cute yellow rickshaw right outside the door :) We got the delish masala fries and chicken zinger burgers. And found everything to be tasty and on point - reminiscent of all the desi flavors from our subcontinent. Can't wait to be back! read more
Nestled in a tiny corner at the end of the mall, this is one of the best gems besides the fun shopping at Tysons. One of the best Pakistani Street food concepts I have tried so far serving up fresh meals and great snacks. The chai and falooda are must haves and reminded me a lot of my last visit to Pakistan. The food does take a little time to prepare but I could wait if the food is this fresh and authentic. Will be back on the next trip! read more

this place is located in the tyson's corner mall right next to a parking garage + maman joon + was easy to access from both outside + inside the mall. the ambiance inside was very aesthetic - there's lots of places to sit + take pictures. the brand presence was very well thought out + is evident in the way the food is packaged/presented. there's also a cha market art exhibit and a photo wall that makes it a great casual date place for someone who's looking to eat indian street food with a modern twist. the menu was a good mix indian street food options that caters to an american palette. i got samosas, chili fries, and rose falooda. the samosas were like any other samosa from the indian grocery store (but it needed peas) but taste execution was there. it paired well with the sesame tamarind chutney! additionally, the fries were really flavorful + uniquely seasoned; they complemented well with the mint yogurt chutney - I wish they came with a maggi ketchup or something. the falooda was soooo delicious too, the textures of the different components meshed well and it was the perfect amount of sweet! it reminded me of rose falooda that i would get in india when I was younger. the prices were a little expensive, but made sense for this area. i would go back + try other things on the menu if given the chance! read more
The food here was excellent, not to mention that it's also halal! I got the hot Zinger roll which was perfect - spicy fried chicken in a paratha roll which a nice balancing sauce and toppings. I also got the Chaat which was excellent. Their milkshake was also great. The service is great and we sat outdoors where it was nice. The food is a tiny bit pricey, but worth every penny in my opinion. I will be coming back here many more times. I just wish it was a bit closer to DC. read more

I've so much about this place from my friends who frequent here. Beautifully decorated I have to say! It was tasteful and colorful at the same time. Desi places take note of this location- there is a way NOT to be gawdy with design. Customer service can be improved- I could tell the young man at the register was a trainee, and needs to be patient with customers. I would recommend for management to train the team on the food names to avoid issues. My parents and I ordered their Chaat, Spicy Mayo fries, Paneer and Chicken Zinger burgers, and the Kashmiri Chai. Chaat was actually good- loved the layers of crispy dough pieces, chole, the taste of the chutneys. Spicy mayo fries- crispy fries smothered in a flavorful mayo sauce and seasonings. Zinger Burgers- the paneer burger was okay. I would suggest marinating it and trying a better coating for frying it. Sauce tasted good too. I could definitely tell that the chicken tasted great based on my dad's reaction. Chai- Earthy and VERY subtly sweet due to the cardamom and nuts. I thought it was a refreshing change then the traditional chai I drink. It's an acquired taste for sure, but worth the try! read more
