**This establishment is inside an office building in McLean** Another cafe in the NoVA area to try out! Did not realize it was a Turkish cafe. I love Turkish coffee so definitely wanted to try theirs. They made the Turkish coffee in a sand heater, which was very interested. Never seen that before. The aesthetics is pretty minimal - not too many plants as I thought there would be since it's called "Hanging Gardens". They have a lot of various Turkish pastries and food. We got their pida (not pictured) and it has a very soft crust, more soft than a regular American style pizza. The waiter who brought out our food and drinks was superb and cleaned our dirty table. My partner got their latte but it did not have much flavor. Highly recommend to try out and I would come back to try their Turkish sweets!

Friendly staff and great ambiance. I came here to get some work done. The music is at a medium level so if you need a quiet space this place probably isn't the best for you unless you put some headphones in. The music actually helped me to concentrate though. Pistachio oat milk latte: I didn't taste pistachio at all. The oat milk wasn't as creamy as I'm use to. Overall, I would skip on this coffee. Dubai strawberry chocolate: pretty pricy. Not a lot of pistachio cream with the philo crunch. The chocolate wasn't melted and came in big chunks. I expected a little more but I'm still glad I tried this. It was good overall, just wished there was more pistachio cream.

Located in the back of all the office spaces, you'll find a cute cafe. I went after my doctors visit to get lunch, and was pleasantly surprised when I saw this pop up at Yelp. The iced pistachio latte is okay--I think it would be better hot. The pide was also good but could use more meat--however, for this price, that is a steal! I really wanted to try their baked goodies--they all looked so good! It is great that their prices are so good and the decor and the cafe itself makes more a lovely little date or study shop. I will say that their golden utensils are super cute as well as the teapots they have up at the front! I love the gold accent and it gives a subtly elegant vibe. The staff was very nice and kind towards us and the food and drinks came out fast.

We recently stopped in to The Hanging Gardens for a midafternoon coffee break. The space itself can be a little tricky to find as it is around the back of an office building. Once you find it, there is plenty of parking. There is also plenty of space inside to sit and relax. Though it took me a while to locate a menu for the food (they are on a back counter as you stand and look at the register - or at least they were that day) we could see many of the offerings in the glass cases. We decided on a baklava and one cold and one hot drink. The baklava was tasty. The only problem was the utensil it was served with was a little spoon with a super pointy end. I found it hard to use without spearing myself so I just picked up the dessert and ate it that way. I try to be civilized, but, dessert is dessert... The cold drink we ordered was a banana & peanut butter smoothie which was fine. We thought it was a fun combination to try. For a hot drink, I ordered a mocha but what I received was a macchiato. I didn't want to make a fuss and send it back so it was fine but I missed what I had ordered. The service was very friendly and welcoming even though they didn't get the order correct. The space is airy and comfortable. There are a lot of food offerings both savory and sweet.

Such a cute little spot! The desserts are really good quality. I got a pistachio iced americano which wasn't my favorite because it tasted pretty flavorless, like it didn't have enough espresso shots in it and not enough syrup pumps. But it might have been just because of the barista that was working at the time, I originally asked for iced but she made it hot and I felt bad that I had to make her remake it because she seemed a little annoyed. I thought it was a little overpriced for the tiny cup size too but I will try a different drink out next time. The decor is really nice though and so was the manager when I walked in! I got to use the free wifi and work on my laptop in a nice air conditioned cafe for an hour or 2.

Beautiful spacious cafe that's perfect for remote workers or friends catching up. The decor is absolutely lovely. The signature dish pide was scrumptious and delicious I enjoyed it a lot. I'm excited to come back for more. Sura provides such a friendly atmosphere with her delightful smile, service, and recommendations.

This café was in a bit of an odd location at the back of a corporate building. They did have a pastry spread, but I found it a bit confusing and while some of them look nice some of the ingredients were not vegetarian (although one appreciates clear labeling in this regard). However, I was quite happy with the option to order a falafel sandwich for breakfast either in large or a miniature slider size. A tea that I ordered had an interesting flavor with just a bit of spice. There was a large space to sit inside and it fit my needs for a breakfast placed.

Pistachio milk cake and Turkish tea.

Turkish inspired cafe with comfortable seating and a relaxed vibe. It is off the lobby of an office building, so you need to drive around the back of the building if you want to come in straight from the parking area. Ordered a pistachio milk cake and Turkish tea. Loved both and was happy to find out the tea has free refills. Staff are very friendly and service was fast. Seems the establishment listened to the feedback because menus are now on the table and they serve dessert with full sized utensils. Recommend you stop by and check it out.

This place is such a hidden gem! The food and coffee are great- I stumbled in here on a Saturday (which has reduced hours) and did some work. It's quiet and has ample parking - seems to be inside a corporate building. You'll see signs in the parking lot to get to it.

The ambiance of this place is quite nice, they have nice large windows, comfy seating, decent sized tables. It does get quite busy so don't be surprised if someone asks to sit at your table. The food was quite yummy, but not filling. It's a nice small bite, but don't expect to be full. I really enjoyed the banana avocado milkshake, it was so creamy and I was able to use oat milk as a DF option, which I appreciate. I'd give it a 5/5. The food we got was a 5/5 taste wise but 4/5 for the small portion sizes. The service workers were polite and answered my partners questions diligently. If you are in the area I recommend coming by here for a milkshake and a small bite.

Had a delicious breakfast this morning with a pistachio latte, yum! Very interesting menu with an array of options. Had the Turkey pepperoni omelet and an amazing Turkish pastry to go along with it. Very cute ambiance and wonderfully friendly service! And they let us bring our little pup in with us which we very much appreciate :)

Zaatar pide

The establishment is located inside of an office building, so visitors will have to walk through the building entrance and down a hallway to access the restaurant. The interior is really beautiful, spacious, and clean. Families like to dine here. There's a wide variety of breakfast items, drinks, and sweets. The staff was really nice and the food tasted great.

They brought out complimentary little cakes with candles, super cute. We did the a la carte entree option, I ordered lamb potato hash which was delish. Deff would come back! I would recommend a reservation because it was quite busy but the bar always had space. Food was a 5/5 but service was a 3/5-4/5 - bartender and bar service was extremely slow. Probably waited 20+ minutes to order a drink, got water refilled once in a 3-hour timeframe, and had to reask for things like extra bread, to order, etc. We started with the Mayhbar items, including the falafel, hummus, and the kashke e-bademjan. They give this very thin bread but ask for extra because the HH portions are large. We did ask for mushroom hummus but somehow normal hummus came out instead. The hummus was so well whipped and the falafel was one of the most soft and tasty ones I've ever had. The grilled eggplant was good too but when we finally got the mushroom hummus, it was absolutely fantastic as well. Do not miss out on the hummus or falafel. For our main we shared the joon kabob platter. The chelow rice was fantastic and crispy, and the meat was so tender. I will say for $95, I wish they gave a bit more kubideh or chicken kabob. I know it's meant to be split amongst 3 but I feel like some cheaper chains easily for the same price would have given you two things of the "cheaper" meat. We got a side of Toum too and it was just absolutely a perfect addition to the meal. Drinks were decent but pricey if not on HH. Espresso martini was a bit creamy but their glass of rose was good (but really light pour for $22 a glass). A bit overpriced to come often but food quality is there.

4.5 stars Fast,…read morefriendly and absolutely delicious. Ordered the chicken and lamb kabob combo with brown rice. Comes with chutney, yogurt sauce, side of chickpeas and one Afghan flatbread. First of all I need to know what kind of sorcery they are doing to that chicken because how do they get chicken breast THAT tender?? Juicy, flavorful, not dry at all. Seriously so good. The lamb had really good flavor too but mine was a little overcooked and a few pieces took more chewing and determination than I wanted to give them. Brown rice was delicious. Definitely not one of those sad side dishes you ignore. Now the chutney... I like to add a little salt, tear off pieces of the Afghan bread and dip away. So good. Add some sumac if you like a little sour kick and squeeze lemon over the kabobs. I really liked the open grill too. I swear I got put into a little trance watching the fire dance around the meat and hearing the occasional singe as the juices hit the flames. I know. What a geek lol. Chicken and lamb combo was $26 plus tax and a bottle of Coke Zero was $3.99, which apparently is where we are in life now. Almost four dollars for a bottle of Coke Zero. Fine. Take my money. Would have been a solid 5 if the lamb was a little more tender but that chicken? Yeah I'm coming back for you.

I also ordered some baklava which was pretty good. Don't think I've ever had it with walnuts before though. I usually have it with pistachios. Either way it was good.

New halal spots pique my curiosity, unlike the average restaurant. It's almost impossible for them…read moreto be both overpriced and bad. At worst, it is one of the two (with exceptions). This establishment seems to be Egyptian owned, as the walls claim that Egyptians created bread, cupcakes and falafel. The service was fine, though the tables could have been cleaner. I appreciate that they allow you to substitute some of the rice portion for lettuce/spring mix although the spring mix was wet. They also offered both spicy and regular options for rice and chicken. I got spicy rice with spicy chicken, and for my toppings I got Mediterranean salad, hummus, and tzaziki. I didn't realize you could also get white sauce, green sauce, etc, so I probably wouldn't get tzaziki and get olives or something else next time. The chicken and rice combo was a bit overly spicy for me and upset my stomach slightly. I'd probably get regular for both the next time. I also got tiramisu which they recommended over all the other "cupcakes" which they claim (via the wall) is Egyptian. The tiramisu was surprisingly good. There was soft music that seems Arabic-speaking. They have fountain drinks as well as bottled beverages. They also include a service charge - it was like $0.42 for me. I don't regret stopping by, but I wish my stomach was more settled. I just came from a restorative yoga class and I was thoroughly at peace.

The young man very attentive and friendly. Ushered our dirty tables and brought us our drinks. I had minty lemonade which I recommend if your gonna eat a lot. Here's my gripe. Its very important to label food. None of the food trays or stations were labeled. I have several food allergies and I had no idea what was what. I had to ask what was this or that. One tray had rice and I saw something that had deep fried crispy something. I thought it was chicken... it was fish :( The hummus was good though. The baklava meh. The pita bread was good. Some rice tray had kabob type of meat but it was lukewarm. For the price I paid, its not worth it. Please label your trays.
