3.5 stars if I can give that. Ordered samosa chaat and mirchi bajji/pakora. Mirchi bajji was excellent. Fresh, cripsy, tasty and full of spice. Samosa chaat was ok ok. The channa masala seemed good but the samosa was sooooo hard. Could tell that it wasn't fresh. Will likely return to order other items like parantha for dinner. Spacious and neat interior. Relatively quick service.

    Masala Bhindi

I got a 4-item takeout from this location just recently. Rotis and makki roti was ok. But palak paneer tasted burnt and spoilt. And the 16oz masala bhindi had over 15 okra ends and onion stems with the fibers still on it (considered scrap and supposed to be cut off and thrown out) which made me want to vomit because I don't even think they were washed well and I am not paying full price for scraps. We threw it all away because both the palak paneer and bindi tasted burnt and spoilt. Avoid!

    The worst paneer Mattar Paneer

Probably the worst mutter paneer if have ever eaten in my whole life ... it was a watered down slosh with raw peas and hard paneer ... the aloo gobi was a 5/10 . The lassi was ok but maybe they outsourced that. Staff is not friendly either . Avoid this place and please spare us the misery of consuming this food

I made a takeout order for a House Thali and couldn't be happier. All of the items were delicious, good portion, fairly priced, and was ready for pickup very quickly. They gave a thali lunch special for even cheaper on weekdays. The samosas were also delicious. Will be back here for sure to eat in! Interior was nice and I loved all of the decor.

The guy serving pani puri at the live counter was super friendly and served with love and pride. Inside, it's counter service. Ambience is average. We ordered Pani Puri outside with 3 different types of Pani. It's definitely on the spicier side so be forewarned...if you enjoy spicy, you'll likely enjoy this panipuri Once inside we ordered Sev Puri (2/5) I ordered mild but it was still spicy but beyond the spicy, the stuffing was what one would put in panipuri so there wasn't much of a difference in taste. Paneer Pakora (3/5) here too in specifically asked if there was chutney in the pakora and was told that there is no chutney inside, it's served on the side. And lo and behold when we get the pakora, there's chutney inside. Overall, food was too spicy for our palette but if you like spicy food, this may be your thing..

Recently went to try some Indian chaat and appetizers at this place. We ordered hara bhara kabab, chhole puri and dahi papdi chaat. Of all items I loved dahi papdi chaat as it had good amount of tang and spice to it. Hara bara kabab was good and the chutneys given on side went well with it. It could have been more spicy for spice lovers. Chhole puri tasted good too and the pickle given on side definitely added to the flavor. Service is quick and staff comes and gives you food at your table. They had good amount of seating available and had baby seats also. They play some music on tv but it's not over the top. Overall a nice spot to get some Indian food.

The quantity was pretty amazing here. There were quite a few options on the menu. The food tasted average, nothing too spectacular.

Was here for a grocery run and ordered samosa chat. I usually get disappointed with samosa chaats as most of bay area restaurants just deconstruct samosas and throw few sauces, this placed made it look like a proper chaat and it tasted good enough that i will comeback for the chaat this again :)

I visited Chaat House in Fremont recently. I ordered 40 chappathis for take out. I have done this frequently before. On the way out I usually have a spoon of sweet fennel which is kept near the entrance to the restaurant. Is this allowed?

Why would it not be? :) The fennel is complimentary. Granted people would normally have it after eating, but I don't see anything wrong with having a spoonful with your to go order. After all, 40 chapatis is probably a bigger business than one…

There was a great variety, and it was a nice way to experience the flavors and spirit of Onam. Service was quick , and despite not having a reservation, they were able to accommodate us. The ambiance is very pleasant too. That said, we enjoyed our meal but my folks found most of the dishes to be spicy which may not suit everyone--especially young kids. We asked for yogurt which the restaurant provided without hesitation. My toddler found almost everything too spicy, but happily enjoyed the sweets, banana chips, payasam, which was definitely a highlight! At around $60 per person, it is on the pricier side for a vegetarian meal, but for a special treat and to celebrate Onam, it may be worth experiencing. Overall, a festive and generous spread, though we would have preferred a little more balance in the spice level.

I would say it's in a weird area since it's sandwiched between many condos/townhomes that are made by Toll Brothers and Lennar and very close to the Tesla Car Plant. Unless you are specifically coming here to eat, I do not think you would normally cross this place. [[ Service ]] Since it's currently not very busy (very surprised since the food is good), the owner and the chef come around often to make sure everything is alright and tasting delicious. They were both very friendly and very easy to talk to. Service was very good! [[ Food ]] I'm always on the lookout for good deals and already came back twice for their lunch menu which starts at $14.99 and comes with Dal, Rice, & Plain Naan. Chicken Korma (they just updated their menu so this is no longer on there) 4.) Mango Lassi Their Naan is quite good and I recommend upgrading to the Garlic Naan which made it even better! We ordered veg hakka noodles, Delhi dhaba chicken, butter naan, goat tawa, mango lassi and spiced nimbu paani. Veg hakka noodles was spicy but tangy and delicious. Large quantity. Kid loved it. Goat was very fresh, melt in mouth kind, and goat tawa was easily one of the best dishes. Delhi Dhaba chicken was authentic dhaba style that you get in India. Absolutely great. Butter naan very soft and crispy and goes well with dhaba chicken. Mango lassi and Nimbu paani very good as well. Menu pricing is great. Not too expensive and they give enough quantity that one entree and 1 naan is filling for an average adult. Kudos to the owner. This restaurant will be packed very soon when the word gets out. I always told myself that if a place smells this good, the food had to be amazing too. I am so glad I finally tried it, because the food wasn't just good, it was great! I will definitely be coming back. Here is a breakdown of everything we ordered during our visit: Appetizers Chicken Lollipop (Dry): Flavorful, well-cooked, and wonderfully moist. Best of all, it had more meat and less batter than most other places, paired with a delicious dipping sauce. It has a slight, pleasant heat without burning your tongue, which is great for focusing on pure flavor. Naga's Special Apollo Fish: This was the absolute standout of the meal! It was packed with incredible flavor, featuring a fantastic mix of yogurt, curry leaves, and green chillies that hit the perfect balance of tangy, cool, and spicy. Main Entrée & Breads Butter Chicken: A wonderful, harmonious blend of sweetness and spice, leaning slightly on the sweeter side. It paired like a dream with our garlic naan. (Tip: If you prefer more heat, you can always check with the staff about customization!) Garlic Naan: Soft, perfectly cooked, and completely free of that dreaded rubbery texture. It had a generous amount of garlic, a slight crunch, and was the ideal vehicle for the butter chicken. Drinks Fresh Lime Soda (Sweet): Refreshing and crisp. You can choose between salty or sweet, and we went with sweet. Pro-tip: Make sure to stir it thoroughly before drinking, as the sweetness settles at the bottom! Service, Ambience & Practical Details Service & Ambience: There are plenty of tables, though it can get busy during peak hours. Even when crowded, the staff is exceptionally quick, attentive, and prompt with their service. Parking: The complex has plenty of parking spots, though it can get challenging on busy days, and some spots are a bit narrow. Keep in mind that the spots directly in front of the restaurant are mostly 10 to 30 minute parking zones, so it is best to park a little further back in the lot. Final Fun Note: Because the restaurant has such a wonderfully strong food aroma, be prepared to leave smelling deliciously like your meal! It is a small price to pay for such fantastic food and service. Highly recommended!

It's been sitting there for a while, so the wifey and I finally decided to drive down to Milpitas and give this Thali place a try. I'm glad we did because their Thali is probably one of the best we've had, if not the best. FYI Thali is LUNCH only. Here is my take. Food (4.5 stars) +The Combo Thali for around $18 is the way to go. Don't overthink it and don't order anything else. You get a little bit of everything, which is exactly why we like Thali. If there's something you don't like, just give it to your partner. My wife doesn't like lamb, so I ended up with double lamb. Bonus for me! + Lamb curry was probably my favorite. Tender meat with a flavorful curry and it went perfectly with the rice. Since my wife donated hers to me, I had plenty! + Fried fish is also very good. You don't get a huge piece, but with so many other things on the plate, it's enough. That's the beauty of Thali--you get a few bites of everything instead of committing to one giant dish. + Chicken curry was also good. Nothing on the plate really needs to be eaten by itself because everything complements each other. You get savory, spicy, sour and even a little sweet throughout the meal. + There are also the usual Thali sides like dal, sumbar, yogurt, dessert and another sour/soupy dish. Rice sits right in the middle and you basically mix and match your way through the entire plate. + I also really like the papadum. It's that thin crispy Indian cracker that gives you a nice crunchy break between all the curries and softer foods. ~ PRO TIP: The only thing to consider is whether you prefer a Thali or an Indian buffet. At a buffet, you can essentially get many of these same types of dishes and eat as much as you want. With a Thali, you're getting smaller portions of everything. Personally, I like the variety and having everything served together, especially when the combo is only around $18. Service/Ambiance (4.5 stars) + We came during lunch and there was only one other customer while we were there, so service was good and the food came out rather quickly. + The restaurant has some really nice paintings along the walls. Some of the scenery almost looked Mediterranean to me, although I'm assuming they're depicting places somewhere in India. Either way, they add some character to the restaurant. + It's a comfortable, casual place to sit down and enjoy a Thali without much fuss. GET THE COMBO! You get fish, lamb, chicken, rice, dal, sides, dessert and all the little extras that make eating Thali fun. Between the two of us, if one person doesn't like something, the other person probably will. In my case, that strategy resulted in double lamb, so I definitely wasn't complaining. Wifey gives Vande Bharat 4.5 stars and I'm right there with her. For the price, variety and flavors, this is easily one of our favorite Thali meals we've had. Yelp got this recommendation right!

Our guest enjoyed the goat biryani and was very happy there were sufficient meat pieces. Since it was closing time and a weekday not much crowd in fact we were the only ones around and they waited for us to finish. Hope they match up to their San Diego spice level and authentic hyd fare..and will give stiff competition in Fremont.

Check 1 point: The interior colors are nice, which sort of lends to the ambiance. It also…read morepleasantly overlaps with the cutlery, the plates and the forks, the serving dishes etc. Check 2 point: the menu is good, not vast and not minimal. But the manner in which the order is taken and the way in which they bring out the sides, especially the salan for the biryani is definitely disappointing. We ordered two biryani's - an egg biryani and a chicken biryani and they brought a tiny bowl of salan, which all put together is 5 teaspoons for a table of four adults. Really!! Check 3 points: the food is tasty definitely!!! However, the only downside is that the paneer starter is not well marinated; so the masala was only on the top. The insides of the paneer was just flat and insipid!! Cleanliness is lacking, the dirty dishes are in a cart right by the booth that we sat at. So the stench was emanating. We had to ask for water twice when the jug was empty, so the keen sense of observation and customer service is lacking! Overall, a place you can go to perhaps once or twice, but don't expect good service. The food is definitely Yum.
