I came to Masala Republic after seeing the positive Yelp reviews and was excited to try it, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. When we arrived, no one greeted or seated us, so we found an empty table ourselves. Ordering was done digitally, but there was no option to adjust the spice level, so we had to find a staff member to make the request. We ordered the butter chicken, paneer, and dal makhani. The butter chicken was overly salty, and the dal makhani was very disappointing. The paneer was the only dish we enjoyed. Overall, the experience did not live up to our expectations, and we do not plan to return.

    Lamb shank biryani

Very disappointing. I ordered the lamb shank biryani, and the lamb was so dry and tough that it had the consistency of jerky instead of tender, slow-cooked lamb shank. The biggest surprise was the raita. It was warm, almost hot, and I was told it had been defrosted. Raita is supposed to be cool and refreshing, so this was a major red flag. I've eaten here before, but the quality has clearly gone downhill. The food felt like it was made with old frozen ingredients, and the meal was nowhere near worth the price. If negative stars were possible, I'd give them.

Came here for a friend's birthday, plenty of parking here! Easy to find, really close to the freeway off-ramp. We were seated right away, no wait. The inside is nicely decorated. Service was really good, they asked if we had any questions and offered their recommendations. We ordered the Gobi Manchurian appetizer, garlic naan, chicken naan, butter chicken, Nalli Gosht Mutton Biryani, and dal makhani. Everything was super flavorful and tasty. The chicken naan is something I've never had before and never heard of, gotta get your protein in! It was very tasty. You can adjust the spice level, but all the default spice levels were good for us. We didn't finish everything and needed takeout boxes, but it was nice to try everything and I would come back again!

Food was very seasoned and good. I also enjoyed the proportions they gave for the price. One buttered chicken, rice, and naan bread could feed two people. The service was average, the food was rdy when i got there.

Saturday night dinner - we got a spicy chicken appetizer Velluli Karam kodi - This was seriously spicy but we enjoyed it. Chicken Chettinad, onion kulcha and butter naan - all the dishes were flavorful and enjoyable. Ordering is through a QR code and they bring the food out to you. They do not joke about their spice levels, so order accordingly. Prices are reasonable and quantities are sufficient. Service is prompt and courteous. The restaurant got full pretty quickly later in the evening, I think we got lucky being able to walk in on a Saturday evening. We will look forward to returning to try out their other dishes!

We craved for Indian food so we came to get take out. Ordered at the counter. Was told it would take 20min. At the end , it took more than 30 min. There were only a few tables there occupied but lots of ppl came in for take out. The food itself was ok. I ordered rice as well and it was $3.99 for a small container. Not sure if I will come back.

A new indian spot in Fremont? We definitely had to check it out! This is a new location near Sujus, and you order at your table through an app. You also pay through the app so make sure to add tip first! Service was friendly and fast (as it usually is at indian restaurants). For me - this spot was SO flavorful! BUT i will say, for all my lame folks out there, it is VERY spicy! Even the not so spicy items, were spicy! I still ate it though because it was good... i was just struggling. We got their garlic naan (my favorite), rice, samosas, chicken tikka masala and the eggplant curry! Recently my old go to indian restaurants have gone downhill - so this was an exciting new find! I will definitely be back and hopefully order less spicy things...!

One of the best finds in the Fremont area, and went with kids for late lunch and had a great food experience. The chicken malai kabob was pretty good with not much spice and nice for kids as well. The best thing though was the nalli goat biryani with the nice aroma of rice and the meat so succulent; the portion was great as well. Will visit again for other amazing Hyderabadi food options!! Highly recommended!

Visited this place with my besties on women's day. I found this place through an Instagram post. The ambiance is simple and clean, the service is attentive and now let's talk about food. We ordered there N all I gosht biryani, which was good and I would definitely recommend it, the Telangana chicken chilli leaves lot more to be desired, probably they need to fix how they need to season the chicken, the Shrimp were spot on but the street style noodles is something I would avoid, they were dry, the chicken in the noodle was drry and over done and the overall noodles didn't taste very well. The owner was open to the feedback and made note of it. I will stop by again in the future and hopefully it will a great experience across.

Very flavorful dishes & the meat was all so tender! My favorite was their specialty Nalli Ghost Mutton Shahi Biryani. The mutton was quite literally fall off the bone and the curry was super flavorful with a kick. Went well with the red onions and a squeeze of lime. I also really liked their garlic naan. The chili chicken came out piping hot and fresh with a tangy & spicy flavor profile. Chicken tikka wasn't my favorite but the chicken itself was generously portioned and cooked well. I liked the telegana chicken curry more. Everything is ordered through online QR code. The service was okay; not attentive but nothing particularly bad. Place was very spacious and clean.

I'm so glad we gave this place a second try! The last time we ordered the lamb biryani, there was barely any meat, but this time it was exactly as we expected. Every dish was delicious and full of flavor. I absolutely love their spices and spice level -- it's perfect for someone like me who loves spicy food. Everything was on point, and I'm really happy we came back. Definitely recommend this place!

Newish Indian restaurant in the plaza on the corner of Stevenson and Blacow. It's in between Rodeo and Cabrillo Park cafe and I've had it bookmarked for awhile. My parents were visiting and they felt like Indian food so finally had a good reason to come. I knew it was a good sign when I came at open on a Monday and by the time I had ordered people were already coming in. The interior is new and clean and had a ncie modern vibe inside. Dal Tadka: I'm a huge fan of Dal and I don't say this lightly but this is the best Dal I have ever had. It had a distinct smoked chili taste that made it so savory and incredibly good. I was getting instant Dal from Trader Joes and I can no longer eat it after this. Butter Chicken/Tikka Masala: Chicken was tender and plentiful inside of each. They didn't overly use cream and I thought the taste was very balanced. The Tikka Masala was especially nice and not overly done with sugar or tomatoes. Vegetable Briyani: HOT! buried under the gorgeously colored rice is a ghee layer that's been amplified with spices. Very spicy and tasty.

At around $60 per person, it is on the pricier side for a vegetarian meal, but for a special treat and to celebrate Onam, it may be worth experiencing. Overall, a festive and generous spread, though we would have preferred a little more balance in the spice level.

We ordered two biryani's - an egg biryani and a chicken biryani and they brought a tiny bowl of salan, which all put together is 5 teaspoons for a table of four adults. Really!! Check 3 points: the food is tasty definitely!!! However, the only downside is that the paneer starter is not well marinated; so the masala was only on the top. The insides of the paneer was just flat and insipid!! Cleanliness is lacking, the dirty dishes are in a cart right by the booth that we sat at. So the stench was emanating. We had to ask for water twice when the jug was empty, so the keen sense of observation and customer service is lacking! Overall, a place you can go to perhaps once or twice, but don't expect good service. The food is definitely Yum.

Butter naan very soft and crispy and goes well with dhaba chicken. Mango lassi and Nimbu paani very good as well. Menu pricing is great. I always told myself that if a place smells this good, the food had to be amazing too. I am so glad I finally tried it, because the food wasn't just good, it was great! Best of all, it had more meat and less batter than most other places, paired with a delicious dipping sauce. It has a slight, pleasant heat without burning your tongue, which is great for focusing on pure flavor. Naga's Special Apollo Fish: This was the absolute standout of the meal! It was packed with incredible flavor, featuring a fantastic mix of yogurt, curry leaves, and green chillies that hit the perfect balance of tangy, cool, and spicy. Main Entrée & Breads Butter Chicken: A wonderful, harmonious blend of sweetness and spice, leaning slightly on the sweeter side. It paired like a dream with our garlic naan. (Tip: If you prefer more heat, you can always check with the staff about customization!) Garlic Naan: Soft, perfectly cooked, and completely free of that dreaded rubbery texture. It had a generous amount of garlic, a slight crunch, and was the ideal vehicle for the butter chicken. Drinks Fresh Lime Soda (Sweet): Refreshing and crisp. You can choose between salty or sweet, and we went with sweet. Pro-tip: Make sure to stir it thoroughly before drinking, as the sweetness settles at the bottom! Service, Ambience & Practical Details Service & Ambience: There are plenty of tables, though it can get busy during peak hours. Even when crowded, the staff is exceptionally quick, attentive, and prompt with their service. Parking: The complex has plenty of parking spots, though it can get challenging on busy days, and some spots are a bit narrow. Keep in mind that the spots directly in front of the restaurant are mostly 10 to 30 minute parking zones, so it is best to park a little further back in the lot. Final Fun Note: Because the restaurant has such a wonderfully strong food aroma, be prepared to leave smelling deliciously like your meal! I think its spectacular value and quite filling as well. Menu items I have already tried: 1.) Chicken Tikka Masala 2.) Methi Malai Chikcien 3.) Chicken Korma (they just updated their menu so this is no longer on there) 4.) Mango Lassi Their Naan is quite good and I recommend upgrading to the Garlic Naan which made it even better! [[ Conclusion ]] I really hope they stick around longer because I'm happy i found a new place to eat that is not too far away for me. They also have a second location in Newark so if you live there, feel free to try it!

So glad we found this place! I never had Indian seafood around here…read more Kind of gives hole-in-the-wall vibe at first glance, but definitely gives it a try! The food is great--no notes. The owner shared fascinating details behind all the special seafood dishes. Such a great time.

The thali came with 2 laccha paratha pieces and 2 naan pieces which were fine. The daal makhani felt like the cream had gone bad in it. The paneer was just mixed with some orange water (the gravy was non existent since it was just watered down). And the mix veg was floating in oil. The pindi chole was extremely spicy. Gave us heartburn in a few minutes. This whole meal was uncomfortable. Never again. If you must eat here, you can try the chole kulcha and nothing else. But be prepared for it to be extremely spicy. It's also not a clean restaurant. The floors were sticky. The bathrooms were dirty with flies flying inside.

As someone who grew up in Delhi and has eaten countless plates of authentic chole bhature, I was…read moregenuinely excited to see Bikanervala open in the Bay Area. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. We ordered chole bhature along with items like aloo tikki and kachori, expecting fresh food. Instead, almost everything tasted like it had been reheated in a microwave. The aloo tikki lacked crispness, the kachori felt stale, and the overall freshness was missing. The biggest disappointment was the chole. They tasted old and stale, lacking the rich flavor, aroma, and freshness that Bikanervala is known for in India. The bhature were average at best and certainly did not justify the premium pricing. As a Delhiite, I understand authentic North Indian street food may be difficult to replicate perfectly, but freshness should be the minimum expectation. Sadly, this felt more like reheated cafeteria food than the Bikanervala experience I was hoping for. I really wanted to like this place, but based on this visit, I left disappointed and would hesitate to return. Didn't keep the bill but attaching the Credit Card Charge.
