This place was recommended to me by someone I work with. Came here for our anniversary. Excellent choice. The warm bread and the butter with herbs was out of this world. The food was perfectly prepared. My wife had the rack of pork. She loved it. I had the long island duck breast. Excellent. We skipped appetizers because we didn't want to eat too much. But the portions are relatively small so next time I want to check out the appetizers because they looked really interesting. We had tiramisu and the warm chocolate cake and cappuccinos for dessert. We are from out of town and wanted to impress our clients located in Holbrook. I made reservations based on a number of positive on-line reviews. When we arrived and I saw it was located in a very modest strip mall, I was quite concerned that I had made a big mistake. Nothing could be further from the truth. Everything was perfect, from the wine recommendation (a surprisingly full-bodied Pinot Noir) to the breaded oysters to my duck breast. The client raved about his pork steak. I have been to this restaurant over 20 times since they have been in existence and not one of my meals has been subpar. Everything here is excellent. Chef you need to taste your food. Overall a bit too salty. Large party near us ordered lots of steaks. Maybe that's the way to go. Prix Fixe was good deal $40 for 3 courses if the food was good. Also. Key Lime tart lacked freshness as the too thick filling was pulling away from its crust. Could have used some whipped cream better then that spot of sorbet. Went here for restaurant week and my husband and I loved the food! I had pork ravioli for an app and the bronzini for dinner. My husband had the most amazing lamb chops. They were so tender and tasty. For dessert I had the coconut flan which I loved. The wine was good too. If I had to change anything it would be the space between the tables. They are really close as it's a small restaurant. However, we were able to look past it as everything else was perfect. Lastly, everyone who works there was super friendly and attentive. We went to Chachama last night for dinner. The food and the service was exceptional. When the bill came I was informed that they don't except American Express for payment. I read the reviews and looked on there website before our visit. Nowhere on the website does it inform of type of payment that is excepted. In fact there is a New York Times Review that says they except all major credit cards. Please clarify this on your website. read more

Food is fine... Service is snippy. I asked for a steak to be *very* rare. It came medium rare. I asked for it to be refired. When the new steak came back, they had a cross section of the old steak on the plate (clearly showing it was medium rate IMHO). Annoying, but the new steak was clearly an inferior cut (lots of fat and grizzle). For all I know they might have spit in the mashed potatoes as well. This is a fam. run est. that rocks with detail to the plate, out of this world service. Everyone stopped talking once they popped that first bite and Oooohs followed. It is Zagat rated as one of the best on LI but it is one of the best for NY. Do not miss it! It is an experience. Lunch means less dollars but no less fine dining. I pd $20.00 for my evening meal. Adore this place for many reasons. The hostess is the sweetest woman on the planet who always greets us with warmth and makes us feel at ease. The drinks are well made, my favorite martini in the area. The ambiance is very cozy and there are so many special touches in the restroom that make this place feel like you're a guest in someone's home. Finally, most important, the food excels. The menu is smart, thoughtful and the dishes are well executed. At this point, we have been so many times that we have tried everything and have never been disappointed. Went for restaurant week. Place Is very cool inside. You wouldn't know from the outside or from the location of the strip mall. They have a $38 pri fix menu regularly which looks pretty good. The food was awesome! Great service and the bartender was very good with our drinks. We will be back often. It's a little pricey but it's worth it. I highly recommend Chachama Grill. I was on a business dinner, and we all had some version of the fixed price dinner (it was "Steak Night" when we were there) and it was excellent. I had the lamb and it was cooked as requested and very tasty. The fixed price menue is a great value, as it includes a salad, entree and dessert, as well as tea or coffee. You can't help but want to love this place and it all starts with the sweet woman who runs the front. The food is solid but doesn't break any new ground. I wish there were more Latin inspired dishes because most are simply new American. The prices are definitely on the high side and the wine list is on the VERY high side. You better know your wines because some are marked up over 4x retail value and are not very good. There were only 2 reds less than $50 and most were over $100. The menu is so creative, and the dishes are so beautiful, along with some of the best cocktails I've ever had. Third time here and consistently excellent experience. Attentive service, elegant NYC atmosphere, and quiet enough to have a conversation. We knew everything was going to be great when the waiter gave us crusty rolls that tasted like they just came out of the oven along with brown sugar and garlic butter. Sure enough, a quail served au jus over a mini pumpkin filled with creamy porcini mushroom risotto proved it. Then a rack of pork, a huge pork chop on the bone which must be marinated because it was not dry even when cooked on the well done side like I wanted. We did the prefix which had lots of great options. I started off with the buttnut squash raviolis which were really good. After finishing our appetizers I had the braised short rib, and my girlfriend the pan seared scallops. Both dishes were cooked to perfection, with the right portion size. Was there this past Monday and it was great!! To start out they bring out fresh baked rolls and accompany them with a flavored butter which was tasty. The wait staff are very professional and courteous. I started my meal with the Lobster Bisque which was flavorful and had crab meat and scallions in it. For my entree I had the Grilled Filet Mignon which was cooked to perfection and a nice sized portion, it was topped with fried crispy onions and a barbecue shiitake mushroom sauce served over a bed of fresh roasted garlic mashed potatoes. For desert I had a warm chocolate cake served with vanilla ice cream. From appetizer to desert the meal was perfect! The manager Rolly was very inviting and friendly, and he worked the room making sure everyone was enjoying their dining experience. I want to try their price fixed nights also, they have a Wednesday Steak night and a Thursday night Latin menu. Will I return? ABSOLUTELY!!!, do I recommend this restaurant? ABSOLUTELY!!! This place is the definition of don't judge a book by its cover!!!! My wife and I decided to go here on a whim, what a surprise! Food is excellent , we had the oysters , tuna tartar, scallops and pork - waiter and waitress staff were great and the hostess came to check on us a few times since we had a 2 and a half year old with us and couldn't have been more accommodating. I was told about this restaurant by my dad. My husband and I decided to try it. The only thing that I was surprised about was everyone was really dressed up. I assumed it was super casual being in a strip mall, so my husband and I were very underdressed. So we were a little uncomfortable. I went there for the first time on Valentines Day, we had a 7:15 reservation. Everyone who greeted us from the hostess to the bus boys were incredibly sweet and accommodating, this is an upscale place that is not pretentious. The food was incredible and top quality. However, upon being greeted by our server, our experience immediately soured. He was not attentive, or accommodating. It was a prix fix menu which is meant to make the night run quickly and smoothly, we sat there for 3 hours because he forgot to bring us our food. The couple who was sat half an hour after us received their second and third courses before we received our second course. I brought this to the attention of my server in a polite manner and he sarcastically and rudely stated "yeah well I guess you didn't notice it's really busy tonight." He continued to ignore us the rest of the evening. That aside the food was amazing, truly delicious. However, when you're paying good money for a nice place, you expect to be treated kindly. I have worked as a server myself for a long time and I understand the feeling of being overwhelmed, I am very empathetic to that, however rudeness is unacceptable. read more

We went at 4:15, so was offered the pre fix menu for $40! What a steal, you get to enjoy one app, main and dessert, off main menu and specials menu. The staff was probably the best staff i have experienced and I go out to eat almost everyday. They conversed, gave advise and were SUPER attentive the entire time.
