I can not possibly write the review this restaurant deserves but i will try. Everything from the minute we walked in until we left we perfect. The hostess Ali was so kind and even though we came on a Friday at dinner time didn't make us feel awkward for not having a reservation and was able to quickly accomaodate us. The restaurant was busy but you would never know it because the service was impeccable. We asked for suggestions and were very happy with the guidance we were given. We have the wedge salad, the cacio e pepe and the fench onion short rib. Each dish was amazing! We haven't stopped talking about our experience there and i can't stop craving the pasta!!!! Food was tasty though I was not wowed by it (I had the Canadian mussels as an entrée - mussels were ok, accompanying fries were nicely seasoned and crisp). The burger ordered at our table was substantial in size but lacking in cheese requested. Service was slow though our waitress did apologize for some of the shortcomings and comped us for the wine that was ordered that did not come until right before the dinner was served. This gem of a restaurant is easy to find and has plenty of available street parking. The place was nice and empty at 5:30 pm on a cold, winter Saturday evening, just after sunset. We dined in a four-season sunroom with round wood chairs and ceiling fans, and the tables were spaced far apart. The chair I sat in was relatively small, so I felt uncomfortable. We sat right next to a wood burning stove that radiated heat right on to our table. I am so glad that I was wearing a short sleeved shirt; otherwise, I would have been sweating. The drink, dinner and dessert menus are eclectic. Some dinner menu choices: pâté with Dijon mustard, marinated red onions and toast points; Bucatini Cacio e Pepe; corn-crusted oysters with fresh corn cream sauce to Pecorino-crusted codfish with a zucchini cream. Jazz background music was playing as waitstaff served customers. Patrick, our waiter, provided impressive service by promptly serving us sourdough and olive dinner rolls and hard butter. He also continuously replenished our water. I had the oysters for a starter, and the Apfelkuchen for dessert. Both were decent. My dining companion, Yelper Lisa A, had the roast Scottish salmon and the peanut butter mousse in a chocolate cup. She also had a cocktail. The entrées took at least 20 minutes, but the desserts came out in less than 10. Thanks, Patrick, for verbalizing two pronunciations for Apfelkuchen (apple cake). The "ch" is pronounced "sh" or "k", depending on the German dialect. He was knowledgeable, friendly and unpretentious. Prices were "Hamptons like". For example, the oyster appetizer was $17.75. I know of other restaurants on the South Shore that charge significantly less for similar oyster starters. This place is good for date night because of the open, airy and fun atmosphere. I came here with a fellow Yelper , Gail. I arrived first and was greeted by a very welcoming waiter Patrick. He told me to pick anywhere to sit , so I choose seating close to the wonderful wood burning stove. I was very comfortable and toasty next to the stove but then again I'm always cold so this was perfect for me. The menu is on their website , you can scan the QR code or go right to the site to the menu section. I ordered the salmon and peanut butter mousse. The salmon was fresh , there was a thick layer of aioli on top which I scraped most of it off. The lentils were a nice addition to the salmon but just a little too lemony. The peanut butter mousse was good with the chocolate shell. The mousse was light and not too thick. My drink , apricot fizz, was very tasty, which I enjoyed. It was made with Bombay sapphire fine, apricot brandy and topped with soda, on the rocks of course. I was comfortable there although my friend got too hot near the wood burning stove. I enjoyed the waiter and his cordiality to us. He even took the time to teach us how to pronounce the word Apfelkuchen. Which him and Gail had two different ways of pronouncing it. Gail did order the apple cake but didn't care for it and changed to the apple cobbler which she enjoyed. Patrick presented us with a check minus the price of the desserts. That was very kind of him. Had a lovely meal there last night with a friend. There was plenty of seating and I was told to choose a seat that I liked. They brought out some really delicious homemade bread. A group of 8 friends went to The Bellport Saturday night, 2/01/2025, as part of my birthday celebration, before attending The Addams Family at The Gateway Playhouse. We specifically chose this restaurant because the menu on it's website offered 2 vegan options on the menu. Yay for me! We got there at 5 pm, when the restaurant opened, and were promptly seated at a lovely round table. So far, so good. But the menu only showed one vegan option, and I was told that the other was removed because it wasn't selling. No problem, the meal I really wanted anyway was the Vegan II - Warm Thai peanut noodles, with tamari roasted tofu and green beans tossed in ginger wild mushroom pesto, so I ordered that. Shortly after taking our orders, the waiter returned to say that they had run out of tofu, because two people had already ordered it. Seriously? They only had enough tofu on hand to satisfy two orders? The waiter left to see what they could do, because there was nothing else on the menu that I could eat, and the chef said he could substitute grilled zucchini for the tofu. Okay, acceptable in that it was something I could eat, although I was disappointed that I wasn't getting the protein I was hoping for. The meal was, indeed, well-prepared and delicious, however, running out of tofu at the start of the evening on a Saturday night is not acceptable. read more

I started off with a cucumber martini and I get it's mostly vodka but wow I couldn't even drink half of it a bit toooooo strong for my liking my friend agreed! We started off with corn crusted fried oysters with a corn cream sauce! First time I had fried oysters and if you know me you know I love them! I enjoyed the corn cream sauce it was delicious the oysters were perfectly fried and crispy for my entree I had the mussels and forties with a garlic aioli, I wasn't impressed there was no sauce to the mussels and it was very bland, the French fries were crispy and well seasoned. My friend got the shrimp with polenta and free beans! The shrimp were juicy, cooked perfectly and good flavor. I wouldn't come back but the scenery was really nice. read more

Great.... The Bellport is as good as crowned royalty to the local community and for good reason. Young and always friendly staff give this place the extra boost. Dessert that rivals others as well as interesting options for your meal. Handwritten menus and other details give this place a unique edge. I'm not a big fan of the drinks as we had a chocolate martini and a glass of Malbec. The Malbec was one of the worst I've ever had which are hard to come by, and the martini wasn't much better, it's wine selection and bar skills I suppose. The owner is super kind, super friendly, and always finds a way to live on the lighter side of life, giggling at things, and enjoying the precious moments in the restaurant. The food is always always fresh and the prices are in line with the portions and food quality. I haven't ordered anything I could push away before I've gobbled it all up. We got a special that was similar to the regular item dish (linguini and clams) but the special menu said chopped clams, only to be served the full she'll and clams on top of the pasta... It was fantastic but not really what the menu indicated, at first glance we were a little worried as its not our cup of tea but these were really well cleaned and super fresh! It was a great dish with lots of garlic. Bringing me to the next dish during our recent visit, another special of course, the hand written menu mentions poached garlic which is the only downfall of this dish being that there was absolutely no garlic in it... The pappardelle in a lemon yolk sauce was outstanding! The pancetta was high quality and melted in my mouth. It was tossed with arugula and asparagus, and supposedly poached garlic. The dish tasted great! That lemon yolk sauce really enriched the whole thing so well. The molten lava cake has been on that menu since I was a kid and I don't see them doing away with it, ever. We got it simply so we could pair it with the homemade icecream (eggnog last night was our choice) Servers always around and decently attentive, super warm and eclectic inside, is all I can really say. Went to The Bellport for the second time within a week. First time was 5 stars this time not nearly as good. We had The Bellport pizza for an appetizer and it was dry and very disappointing, fortunately we were given a credit for it. My other guests had bass and black pepper pasta and both were excellent. Love going to the Bellport! Stumbled upon it about six months ago, and come here every couple of it! The food is always consistent and always excellent. Service isn't always the best but they have a young Turkish girl that helps the waitress who is so so sweet and always helpful, I don't know why they don't make her waitress! She is more attentive than the waitress they have. But if you haven't been here it is definitely worth a stop because the food is always fresh and they have wonderfully surprising things on the menu all the time. I had one of the vegan dishes this weekend and it even surprise me it was so delicious- The stuffed zucchini- excellent! Haven't been to The Bellport in about 10 years but I remembered it as a kind of unique place with a laid back relaxed atmosphere. My wife and went for Sunday Brunch and not much has changed! Arrived right at noon, place was about 1/2 full. We were met by a young man named Patrick who seated us, was also serving as bartender and our waiter. I have to say he seemed to be handling things fine! He made me a beautiful Bloody Mary and a nice Mimosa for my wife. The Brunch menu is very inventive and people rave about the Buttermilk Fried Chicken but we were in the mood for breakfast so I ordered the Crepe of the Day which was Strawberry and my spouse opted for Eggs Benedict! Everything was wonderfully presented and delicious, the poached eggs were cooked perfectly. Service is slow but we were in no hurry and it occurred to me that Patrick was also acting as chef!
