I had to repost this review since an angry Chacho's fan flagged it for removal. I have visited this location twice and have dined here one time. The first time I ordered an egg, cheese and potato taco to go. When I got home I realized there were onions and meat in it. I was super disappointed but we didn't want to make the long drive back to correct their mistake. The second visit was more recent. Chacho's sign says "two line drive thru, serious margaritas." One might think they could then order margaritas in the drive thru. One would be wrong. And annoyed that they waited 15 minutes behind three cars only to be told margaritas must be ordered inside and finished inside. Super annoyed. I used to go to the Chacho's on Westheimer all the time after a late night of drinking. But lately that is a seldom occasion. However, I still do stay up late and crave for food at night. I drive past this location all the time but never stopping in. But recently I didn't go too far from home so treked over here late on a Friday night. WOW....This place is HOOD. It's packed to the brim, if you didn't know better this was the "after party". People had music blasting, people standing in the streets, even dancing. They have a double drive through, and it moves pretty fast, cause I sure did want to get out of there. The food here kinda sucks! It's definitely a quantity over quality type of environment. The very first time I ever ate at Chachos was over 10 years ago. The aftermath was not pretty. So naturally I was not rushing to return to any of their locations and I didn't for 10 years. When I did go back, I only indulged on margaritas with some friends. This time I decided to try the nachos with queso. Now you'd think as much food as they serve and the amount of people they have patronizing (as if the food is actually good) that the chips would not be stale. The cheese wasn't good and the chips tasted like they were weeks old sitting in an open bag. I got the medium and that could easily be shared by 3 people, I honestly had no clue it was going to be massive. The meat was steak (not the smokehouse but the other one). Umm... I can't even write this review without laughing. If you're from Houston you know what 2 expect. Not 2 much, not 2 less. Get it how you get it. Chachos is one of those tipsy after the club spots or need a quick drink and food type of places where many folks can gather before hitting the club. We came by Saturday around 4ish for a quick drink and some nachos. The place was pretty packed with graduation crowds. We each wanted a large margarita (different flavors) but were told all the large glasses were dirty........ Ummm....... *side eye* so we opted for mediums. Sadly, they ran out of 3 of the flavors... Ummmm..... *side eye* well, one of the cashiers ended up pulling the large cup from display, washed it and served it up. Lol. The nachos plate was huge! If you have anything near a weak stomach stay away- the cheese is something serious! Nonetheless, they were good not great. Something to fill you up and keep it moving. Attitudes of some the cashiers.... Ummmm... Need I explain? Lol. The food here is good, but the establishment itself is unsanitary. All workers seem to clean every morning, before customers trek in. This morning particular after I had breakfast with my mom. I saw a worker dust the walls down with a duster near the condiments and sauces area. He wasn't even aware of the dust particles floating in the air. The lady behind the counter preparing the torillas coughed as the dust floated near her. She didn't cough on herself or turn away; she coughed onto premade torillas. It was terribly gross. This location Chacho's is unappealing, in the mini lobby area before you enter in it has a distinctive odor to it. You almost have hold your breath and quickly rush in. I personally cannot stand in that area for a long period of time, before gagging. I'm not sure it could be that my olfactory nerve is rewired wrong. The atmosphere of this place is so off. It has broken, mismatched seating where there is caked crust on the tables to a wobbly unstable chair. A major renovation needs to take place. The food is reasonably priced and taste super good. I come for breakfast and order breakfast tacos or a breakfast plate. But how would the food taste good and the place is unkept? read more

Avoid "puffy tacos"; visible roaches on expo bar I have fond memories of the Chacho's on Westheimer so I was interested in trying this location because it is very close to work. I regret everything. Ordered a steakhouse fajita taco that was really good. They are tiny and $4.49, but they are super tasty. Also ordered a beef picadillo puffy taco and it was awful. The "puffy taco" shell was so grease-logged and chewy that it was already in pieces when I received it. There was no structural integrity and just tasted like grease and corn. The filling was okay. Caught sight of a red roach about the size of a nickle strolling across the hot expo bar though. That was nice. It was gone by the time I came back to ask for cilantro a third time. read more

So I met a friend here against my better judgement. It was 3:30 in the afternoon and hardly anyone here. The service (to order) was quick, menus in line are filthy - it's clear they never get wiped down. Cashier was stale and clearly did not want to be at work. I ordered a hypnorita and it was watery, but strong. Because of how gross this place looked, I opted out of food, because I'd rather not spend my weekend in the hospital lol. We sat outside on the patio and it was a disaster - see pics. I literally grabbed some napkins and their cleaning spray and cleaned my own table, while food from hours ago sat on almost every table out there. Trash from those tables had blown across the patio and into the bushes and parking lot. Also, the bathroom was so gross. The person who took my order was absolutely rude; placed me on hold immediately and then after finally taking my order he even hung up on me. When we arrived the service was horrible, there was no indication on where to pick up a To-go order. Pictured is what we ordered for lunch. Second time: I got an answer but was greeted with a "what" and was placed on hold for five minutes before I hung up. Lastly: I called and was greeted with a "yes, what do you want?" Pretty good spot for Tex-Mex. We've been going frequently and have noticed that the staff have always been nice to us. The food is very good, all made on the spot fresh-to-order. I always recommend this place to my friends. Some cons of this place are the inside area. It's a bit dark and sometimes smells a bit strange -- similar to a wet mop. The staff seems to always be busy, but its because take their time on each person to ensure everything works out. If you're going to call the restaurant, expect 5 minutes of ringing. However, when they do pick up the phone, they will make sure that you are taken care of! Recently, I was impressed with the catering service. Spoke with Jasmine and Sal about ordering about 10+ pounds of meat and Jasmine helped find a great option for not breaking my wallet + feeding my guests. Made the order in the evening and picked it up the next day at noon and met one of their workers, Stoney, to help us carry the food to the car. While this happened, Sal made some free chips for us to bring as well. I was impressed by this service. It worked very well for our guests, everyone was satisfied and were surprised that the meat was very flavorful, unlike most areas where you would need to drench it in sauce. I really like the place! The many versions of the nachos are very good, the tortillas are made in-house and are fresh. And the nachos are the same, they make everything in house. To have fresh ingredients like this is unusual, so I'm not sure why the ratings are low sometimes. The pico de gallo is also done very nicely, and I would highly recommend the chicken flautas. Just came here for a late breakfast while my car is getting serviced at Russell and Smith Honda and at first everything was fine, then after I ordered and was looking for somewhere to sit down there were dirty tables everywhere! No one cleaning the tables and I've been here for 25 mins and my table was semi clean...it looked that way at least until I went to pick my phone up and my phone stuck to the table! Good cheap food. Open 24 hrs. If you're, familiar with Houston, this is the old Bennigans location. Chachos is good for a late night bite. Their frozen alcoholic drinks are good too... last time I mixed Piña Colada and Strawberry...OMG! I usually go for the chicken fajita nachos when I come and depending on the size ordered, it can be more than enough to share. The food is always freshly prepared and the serving sizes are good. Now, drive thru is usually my preference here but if u want an alcoholic drink, you'll have to dine inside. There's NOTHING impressive about the inside (don't say I didnt warn you). don't know what happened to Chacho's, but it is INFURIATING to go there now. They are apparently top tier Covidiots because they still have all of their dining rooms closed and are just open at the drive thru. You'd think with just a window to focus on that they could get orders right. Hell, I'd settle for CLOSE to right. I used to eat here 3-4 times a week, and sing their praises, but lately their service has become so bad that my blood pressure won't let me attempt to order from there. The last FOUR TIMES that I have been through the drive-thru, they got my order wrong. Horribly wrong. Not just forgetting the pico or something minor like that. It is always something CATASTROPHICALLY incorrect. Today was the straw that broke the camels back when they claimed to be out of tea at 11:30 a.m.. Not only that, but I ordered two steak Taco Norteno's. They charged me for the Steakhouse Beef, even though I didn't specify that I wanted that upgrade, and when I got home and opened my tacos, they were steak and a tortilla. No onions, no refried beans, and no avocado. They essentially charged me $6.49 for two $3.99 taco's. This is the FOURTH TIME that has happened. I can't give them anymore chances. No one there gives a flying crap about customer service, and if you complain to the Manger, they look at you dumbly and ask "what do you want ME to do??".  Ownership ought to be ashamed of themselves. Their salsa selection is really nice and their fajitas are delicious and massive! May not be the cleanest place inside but it just adds to the ambiance lol. This restaurant is within walking distance to NRG stadium so the location is good. The food is relatively poor quality but in enormous quantity. My son had a Margarita and described it has "supersweet" with cheap Tequila. The queso is definitely the cheapest processed cheese. The cleanliness is about a 3/10 and the service is about 5/10. If you want a place to pre-game where quantity is great but lacks quality, go here. read more

Due to COVID their salsa bar is a bit limited but workers are nice if you ask for more.
