Chad retracted service to me. He replied to an email with this: "I've had something unexpected come up in my family and it's looking like I need to leave the city by next month. I just learned about it on Tuesday. I'm going to have to refer you to another CPA." When I signed on with him he told me to hire a CFP, which costed me almost 4k . I didn't go with his recommendation and found another that wanted to connect with Chad. Chad did not reply to his emails to at least acknowledge him. During our last return we didn't even meet over Zoom or phone to go over the return, compared to my old CPA. I also incurred a small penalty. I recently got a notice from the IRS about my 2015 return that I had filed myself through turbotax. I immediately panicked as they said I owed them a significant amount of money. Shortly after I calmed down I went searching for a CPA to help me 1. Figure out what happened and 2. Fight the IRS. I went on yelp and found Chad.
