I found this viral Chinese milk tea from Instagram while vacationing in SoCal. The gentleman behind the register was kind to recommended me the Boya Jasmine Green Tea Latte with oat milk in large for under $8, which is much cheaper than an average 16 oz. boba with one topping in the Bay Area. I recommend downloading their app to receive a discount as a first customer. It was a bit crowded in the afternoon and there weren't any seats available until someone leave the table. I love the design of their cups and bag. The straws are made to be thin so you can taste the essence of the tea when sipping tea lattes, which will make a tasting difference. I really like the creamy texture of their tea latte and not watery like other boba shops I've been to. I even felt awake for a while after drinking it for over an hour. Really not sure why this Chagee location is rated so low. My friend and I picked up tea here, and it was great tasting with really big portions. She got the roasted black lemon tea, and I got the jasmine lemon green tea. Both were super citrusy and refreshing. Only downside is I wish they served toppings. Heard the line gets really long here. However, we went on as Friday afternoon and it wasn't too bad. The wait to pick up drinks was longer than to order. I got the peach oolong lemon tea and my husband got the jasmine Lemon tea and they were both really good. A tad bit sweet but good. If you like it a little less sweet, 50-75% is good. Chagee is a tea house that is well respected on the Internet and social media, so stumbling across it on my visit to Brea excited me. However, I wasn't too impressed with the orders we made. Came here with my friend who is obsessed with Chagee for my first time trying out Chagee! They do have a mobile app that is currently running a promotion for your first order through the app to be a % off. There is limited indoor seating as well as a restroom inside. We came on a Sunday afternoon and the mall and Chagee were PACKED. My friend and I ordered online in advance to just pick up the drinks much faster which I do recommend although we came back a few hours later and waited in line and it didn't take too long. One thing to note is for all orders, they don't call out your name when the order is ready so just be prepared to keep a close eye on the drinks coming out. I ordered the Roasted Oolong Black Tea; it was delicious for the first few sips but was watered down halfway through the drink. I do wish there was more tea, as I do taste the flavor, but tastes watery quick as the ice melts. There aren't many tables as the shop is small. I'd consider the wait to try Chagee due to its popularity, but only if you are willing to wait. I was told that it wasn't too sweet so for my first time, I decided to get it regular sweet. The flavor was honestly pretty good but the tea flavor was a bit on the weaker side. Next time, I would definitely get it less sweet and get it with oat milk to maybe get more tea flavor. Any teahouse that collabs with Laufey is a teahouse that I will frequent.. and I do love Chagee! This particular location usually has a line but the wait doesn't take too long, and you always have the option to order through the app for pickup. The staff is always super helpful and nice which is always a plus. I always get the Amber Oolong tea latte and it always hits the spot. The flavor is nicely nutty and never too sweet. If you prefer more floral, jasmine teas, I recommend their Boya Jasmine tea latte. The gentleman taking our order was kind, and when we told him it was our first time, he gave us some recommendations based on popularity. We took his recommendation and ordered 2 Peach Oolong Lemon Teas. Service was very quick, even when there was a fair amount of people in the tea house. Something I noticed about some reviews was the criticism of "no boba" or having more options, but honestly I disagree; this place sets itself apart BECAUSE it doesn't do what every other boba shop is already doing. A shop like this is refreshing because you can find boba EVERYWHERE. Having a fresh steeped tea on a hot day just feels better - simple, classic, and delicious. The interior was incredibly clean, modern with an original piece of art made for the tea house, a bathroom, and comfortable seating with charging ports. Though I didn't get to-go order, their bags are so high quality for just a to-go baggie! And it has a beautiful design. You can see the workers cleaning their machines and wiping down the counter, so the place already is setting the bar for a more upscale setting for a very affordable price. It's a gorgeous blend of wood/green/cream color palettes, the lovely scent of tea, and a hidden nook feeling that takes you out of the hubbub of the mall. The tea itself was refreshing with slices of lemon and lime, and the right amount of ice (not too much, not too little), and though I wish it was just a touch less sweet, it was still very tasty. My partner and I are still walking around the mall, but I'm planning on grabbing another tea (this time a latte) before we leave to try their other milk tea style. Definitely a must try! It has a simple yet fancy interior, located in the Brea Mall (downstairs near Apple Store) The fragrant of the tea leaves is so nice as you entered the store. She was soft spoken in a loud place and she had a mask on. If you're interested in merch, there are a bunch for you The menu is simple and note: NOT a boba or coffee shop! This famous worldwide boba place is located inside brea mall. The store is on the 1st level near jc pennys right next to the apple store and tumi. There's also a starbucks nearby and an elevator. Store setting is kind of weird, with the counter near the entrance and there is a pillar that stands out in the front. You walk into the store from the left side of the pillar and if you want to order something, go to the right of the pillar and thats where the order line is. Imagine you have tons of customers, the line will extend it out to outside of tumi since there are much space from the start of the line to the store entrance. I'm a big milk tea fan and they don't have any milk teas. They have "tea latte" which its actually a kind of milk teas. I'm not sure why this store doesn't have milk teas or if they substitute tea latte with milk tea but this is a bad idea. If you dont have milk teas in your menu as one of the options then you are missing alot of businesses. If you substitute milk teas with tea latte, thats another bad thing because its totally different taste and customers like myself that enjoy milk teas will definitely taste the different. While some people don't mind but this is where I gave this store a lower rating since the so called tea latte tastes "yuck". I read the reviews from other fellow customers and they also have similar weird taste feedback. Also, one more thing that this boba shop lack of is boba. This is not THEIR fault ( i assume the owner is a franchise owner ) because all chagee doesn't offer boba. Sorry this is not up to par with the chainstore and can't compete with other popular boba place in LA or orange county. Stopped by the Apple Store and saw this teahouse next door. The interior decor looked fancy so I wanted to give it a try. This place doesn't serve coffee based drinks, it's all tea. No boba either. I picked up the Peach Oolong Tea Latte w/ Oat Milk. It was good, however the peach flavor was very faint and I was hoping to taste more peach. The straws were interesting. They had 3 holes in it. I think it's so you can sip and savor your tea instead of chugging it down like you would with a bigger straw. Also, since you are drinking hot tea, it doesn't burn as much if you sip it slower. Overall, I think the drink is fine, but nothing special. I feel like this tea shop's decor, ambiance and packaging is better than the actual tea. read more

This is my 2nd time trying Chagee and I gave their Boya Jasmine Milk Tea another shot...but how do you run out of sugar at 2:50PM when your store opens at 10AM and doesn't close until 8PM ;-; it's not the fact that they were making it, it's the fact that they were WAITING for a shipment to come in or for someone to go pick it up. I used to work in a boba shop and we never ran out of ingredients to the point where we had customers waiting. As for the tea, I prefer it with regular sugar (I usually get 50%-75%). What we ordered ~ iced Peach oolong latte, it was very subtle the peach flavor and the oolong tea taste was really light. I was worried my drink was gonna be sweet due to the peach. Ask the associate if it was a sweet tea and he said at their sweetness high it's at 60% sweet. Which than i decided to keep my drink un-customized. So glad i did because it was the perfect balance of sweet with the peach and oolong. They are known for their High end tea, I was a bit worried since it's high quality and good tea that the drink might be a lot caffeinated but i was actually good drinking tea so late! They sell tea in a very Asian style so the drinks will be more lightly sweetened with hints of flavors. Don't expect artificial tasting syrup flavors. Otherwise, this place is crazy busy but the tea is sooo fragrant. You can order ahead and just pick it up which I highly recommend. They're really new so you can tell they're sorting out managing the store. I've tried the iced jasmine thags lightly sweetened and today I tried the daydream frozen blend. I wanted to try out Chagee now that there's three locations available in LA. I've been to Chagee in Malaysia so I was curious how it held up against it or versus other Chinese milk tea chains around. I tried the signature boya tea latte aka jasmine green. The three hole straw helps aerate the drink and you can taste the notes of the jasmine tea better. The balance of the milk to tea ratio wasn't perfect, it felt a little watery to me. I still prefer the jasmine milk tea from Molly Tea over the Chagee equivalent. read more

Very good tea that is authentic and true to the actual flavors. We had the ceylon black tea with oat milk, unsweetened, the amber oolong tea unsweetened, and the jasmine tea. All were iced and very good! read more
