Can't give one star because that comes off as too petty. Took 40 minutes to get my drinks. Saw a lot of people that ordered after me and had higher order number still get their stuff before me. Unless they're about to open or close, expect to wait a long time. Craziest part was I lined up at 2:30pm on a Saturday so definitely no lunch rush or dinner rush or anything. I mean the store looks nice inside I'm not gonna take that away from them but shouldn't be taking 40 minutes from register to table. That's how you lose customers. If you like strong teas, then this place is for you. We tried the jasmine green pure tea, amber oolong pure tea, and the boys jasmine green tea latte. Definitely order in app because the line was very long, but we only had to wait around 20 minutes ordering from app. They don't have any toppings with their drinks, only tea. Personally, the teas were too strong. The flavor is very particular and tea forward, so if you're looking for an Americanized tea spot, this isn't it. The wait times are longer for this tea place, since this a one of the few locations in Southern California. Since finding the app, I've ordered online every time I go in and it's made it much easier. They even have a rewards program on the app. I've tried most of the teas and all of them are outstanding . It's definitely on the strong side flavor-wise, but it's among the best that I've had since Orobae closed down. Our favorites are the Peach oolong and the Daydream. I would highly recommend this place for those who don't mind the wait or use the app. read more

Great tea but milkier than the versions from Thailand. You can tell they have good quality tea, oolong and green tea wasnt bitter like other tea places. Sad people think this is a boba shop and rate it low cause they call their milk tea lattes. But it not a boba shop and these are higher quality then your typical milk teas. Had tge peach oolong and jasmine latte but less sweet which was perfect. I feel like other places have overly sweet tea even with less sweet or minimal sweetness but this place gets it. One star was docked due to wait time, they seem to make their teas in batches and alot of people that ordered the lemon tea behind us got theirs first... We had to speak up and waited about 30 mins for two teas... that's unacceptable wait time especially when we ordered way ahead of many of these other people. Not sure why people get hyped about this place. There wasn't a lot of customers in the store, yet I had to wait 15 mins for the drink. From the confused looks of team members, they probably skipped my order. Ordered a Jasmin green lemon tea, tasted no tea in there, but rather just squeeze lemon juice with bitterness from the peel. How unfortunate that their service wasn't good when I came in :( This was my second time at this Chagee location -- first time was during their soft opening and I really enjoyed the drinks and ambiance. My second time around wasn't a very pleasant experience. They were pretty busy, but I was really looking forward to coming back to this place since I tried it the first time. However, the person who took my order had a very off putting energy, and barely acknowledged me as he handed me the receipt without a simple "thank you" or even "here's your receipt!" I brushed it off and hoped the rest of my experience there would make up for it. However, my name was called and the girl who was handing out drinks also didn't acknowledge me. She was talking to her coworkers while packing my order in a bag, and then gave me my drink, while still talking to them, without looking at me or saying thank you. I know it may not seem like a big deal, but as a brand new store I would hope they would want returning customers who are satisfied throughout their entire experience. The survive is very vast when I went around rush hour the were people taking order while the barista where making orders at a decent pace. Was excited to come here due to the hype but we waited over 1 hour for 3 drinks. They were noticeably and understandably busy, but we had to go talk to them to find out their steamer machine was broken or having some sort of technical difficulty. We ordered one hot drink and our two iced drinks were sitting on the counter for over 30 minutes. By the time we wanted to cancel the hot drink and leave, they said we could make that drink iced (or get a refund). We opted for the iced option, but the other drinks were already watered down. Would have been smarter to let everyone else know their steamer was down so we can get our iced drinks beforehand. Other than that, service was friendly and the employees obviously work very hard. I do have to note that the store is extremely hot and stuffy. Management should turn on some air or AC for these poor kids running around making hundreds of drinks. My boyfriend and I ordered a Jasmine Milk tea and Peach Oolong Milk Tea. We don't normally prefer our drinks very sweet, but their drinks were not sweet at all even with full sugar. More importantly, the drinks mostly tasted like milk with a lack of tea flavor. Thankfully the lines had died down so we didn't have to wait very long. However, few days later when checking my credit card statement, the total amount appears higher than expected when comparing my receipt with the actual billing on my credit card. As of 11/23/25, this location is extremely disorganized. I was the first customer in the store at 10 a.m. and placed the very first in-store order of the day. I still ended up waiting 45 minutes for my drink because they prioritized mobile orders. There were 95 mobile orders in the system, and my in-store drink was pushed behind all 95 of them. During this time, there was no clear communication about the delay, and one of the employees was yelling at customers not to come to the counter until they received a text, which felt rude and unprofessional. For how expensive the drinks are here, the service and attitude should be much better. The tea itself is good and the café is pretty, but the poor organization and bad customer service completely ruin the experience. read more

Service is absolutely amazing! Workers at the pick counter and register always greet with a smile and are very helpful. The interior has a sleek design and is kept very clean. I appreciate the detailed nutrition facts on the drink labels, especially with the caffeine content. This place is great for people who enjoy tea. The smaller menu allows for insanely consistent quality. I have never been disappointed. If you can't appreciate the menu go to the alley or lollicup for overly sweet drinks and boba. The yelp and google ratings are misleading because people only complain about wait times and can be racially biased. I had extremely high expectations for Chagee. I got it once in LA for their grand opening and I loved the customer service there. I was so happy to hear it was opening at Brea because I didn't need to go to LA anymore. Sadly, my experience was HORRIBLE and I will NEVER come back. The manager, Audrey (I think thats her name with the red hair) was extremely rude. I am in disbelief that she is the manager at such a high end tea shop franchise. I completely understand that it is busy and there is a long wait. I waited 3 hours in line for Chagee in LA, so I was well aware. However, Audrey did not care to check up on my order even though I asked her nicely multiple times. I am not sure what happened but they misplaced my receipt so my order was never made. All she had to do was check up on it, but no she just ignored me and told me to wait in a rude tone. When we finally were able to find out the problem, they made my drink and gave it to me without a "Sorry" or anything. This is completely unacceptable and disgusting behavior coming from a manager. I whole heartily hope she gets moved down because this shop will most likely fail if the customer service is like that. And from reading other comments, many other people have had bad experience with Audrey the red hair lady. I would give just her negative stars if I could. Customers should not feel belittled at a high end tea shop. Audrey does not align with the values that Chagee holds themselves too. And because of that I will never be returning to Chagee until Chagee decides to do something about these consistent problems. Chagee may not be the root cause of this problem, but to turn a blind eye on this means they do not hold themselves to their own values.
