Paneer Paratha Wrap, Salted Caramel Cold Brew Cake, Kashmiri Chai
    Dana S.

Unpretentious Indian cafe with a large menu. Many chai varieties, lots of sandwiches/wraps, baked goods, and other bites. Very friendly owner. The eating area looked clean. It was kind of disorganized in the back on the way to the washroom but that's not a big deal. Atmosphere is a little bare, like a small diner, but there's lots of seating. The Indian music playing in the background was a nice touch. I got a kashmiri chai, paneer paratha wrap, and a slice of caramel cold brew cake. The chai was very good and I appreciated that I could get it unsweetened. The wrap was also really good, with a flaky paratha and lots of peppers and onions in addition to just the paneer and potatoes and a flavourful sauce. The only thing I didn't like was the American or cheap cheddar cheese, but I still enjoyed it even with that. The caramel cold brew cake was very sweet but had a very strong coffee flavour, and the layering of the different cake layers with the mousse was interesting. The wrap and maybe the chai were both made to order, so a slight wait but not a problem for me since I wasn't in a hurry. Would recommend visiting if you're in the area for a quick meal or just a nice cup of chai. It's across the street from the mall at Metrotown so it could be a good fuel stop for your shopping trip.

I would also describe the food as modern since there are some cool fusion dishes such as the mango burrata (I didn't end up ordering this but I wish I did!) I love lamb biryanis and this place has the most colorful and aesthetic lamb biryani I've ever seen. The samosas were also plated with a lot of creativity and artistic touches. Overall the food was very flavorful. I'm already thinking about my next bowl of biryani!

I want to start this review by giving a big shoutout to Pemba who was our server, he was so kind and took such good care of us and recommended really good items based on what we wanted. Everything I tried from here was 10/10! Some stand out items - :: Bombay pomfret fry - OH! The masala and coating on this was sooo good we were sucking on the bones till the very end. Such a great appetizer! :: Lasooni palak burrata - I was a little apprehensive about this at first because burrata and palak didn't seem like something I would want to try but I was wrong! This was one of my favourite dishes. It was such a delicious fusion item. For dessert, I would recommend getting their soan papdi malai khwaab and their malai ghewar. Not too sweet, just perfect. For drinks, aam pana with gin is the way to go. I really cannot wait to come back and order everything again!

Waited for an additional 45 mins on top of the guesstimated delivery time. Could see our Uber Eats…read moredriver waiting. First item in the bag had hair at the clasp of the container. Pretty grossed out. We tried the chicken tikka and butter chicken but it was ridiculously dry! Had to be washed down with drinks because it was overwhelming my throat when I swallowed the tough chicken meat. Perhaps use dark meat instead? It'll be more forgiving for the longer cooking times this seems to require.

Medium size restaurant but seating and tables are well organized so it can house large group as well...good for family events and kids friendly. Free parking...well not a lot but i do not think it will be a problem.. Surprisingly busy place, my first time here and i noticed its like a one man show....service is very friendly but just like the free wifi...it is slow.... Indian inspired decors, neat place and observes covid-19 precautions. Appetizer: I got the Chettinad combo In here i get 2 vada and 1 idly, comes with 2 kinds of sauce, not sure what are they but the other one taste like it has coconut on it and the other one its like a mixture of spices and tomato sauce. The vada taste very good its like a donut without a filling but you get to dip them on the sauce..The idly is plain like a sponge cake..tasteless but eaten with the sauce it was good. small size soup is included Main entree; Butter Chicken Masala Dosa, the reason why i came here..the last time I ate dosa was like 2 years ago....The thing that i really like with dosa is the crispy wrapper, its like and similar taste to a very thin pancake, Then tear it into small pieces dipped into the sauce....hmmmmmm the richness of flavors and blending of the sweet taste dosa wrapper and the meat inside is so perfect, each bite is immaculately good...exploding and satisfying my Yelper taste buds.... Deceiving though because the dosa was so long and puffy the meat is concentrated in the middle...but still generous serving... What BUSY place i was here for morethan an hour including my wait time....people picking up orders is litera;lly non-stop...i smells a lucrative business in here. Excellent foods, neat place but they should add man power ...service is slow because its a one man show.....

I was not expecting this restaurant to be as big as it is. The space here is truly massive, and…read morewhile it was mostly empty when we came at around 2:30 - I can picture the hubbub of activity that would be present during peak dinner hours. This does seem to be a highly recommended place to eat Indian food in Surrey. I had the Non-Veg Thali, which isn't on the menu, but the waitress helpfully let us know about. It's very customizable - and I went with garlic naan, rice, two tandoori chicken pieces, lamb vindaloo, and shahi paneer - all in a single plate! Pretty much everything was excellent. I'm not even sure where to start. The garlic naan was fantastic. Soft, buttery, with just a slight hint of garlic and lightly charred on the outside. I could honestly eat this by itself and be satisfied. Garlic naan is a staple of what I order whenever eating Indian food, and this might be the best one I've had. The shahi paneer was also great; tomato-forward, creamy, and the paneer was super soft. The lamb vindaloo was a real standout. It was immensely flavorful - not lacking for spice at all - but you don't just taste capsaicin - you taste all the cumin, cardamom, and garam mixed in with the curry. But the lamb itself is the best part of the curry; it's so tender and juicy. The absolute peak, though, was the tandoori chicken. These were two large dark meat pieces, which were cooked to absolute perfection - retaining so much juice and fat. The skin was a perfect deep orange, seasoned with a ton more spices. It's like eating fried chicken but without the breading, but this was arguably even better. The masala fries were the only thing kind of a miss - as they lacked any masala. The price of the thali was only 23 CAD. That's a pretty insane deal for how much food you get - I was unable to finish everything on my plate despite being very hungry. Honestly two people could share this and be satisfied. When you consider how much sharing and new orders for bread, rice, and curries goes on at your typical Indian restaurant, this is crazy good value. Overall, I would classify this as the best Indian food I've had outside of Asia. 9.5/10
