We had come here on a Sunday afternoon at around 12:30 pm. Many of the tables were already filled therefore, we chose a table at the front of the restaurant near the service counter. This place was small however, it had enough tables for about thirty individuals. The servers at the front were kind, and explained what the dishes were when we had asked about the menu items. They also brought the dishes to our table once they were ready. We had settled on the butter chicken bowls, which were quite large however, not as appetizing as I would have thought. The butter chicken was more shredded than whole, and the spice overpowered the other flavours of the bowl. I didn't find it too appetizing however, it did have a somewhat nice flair to it at times. We also settled on the vegan chai, which was so strong, we had to put sugar in it to drown out the string flavouring. It also kept me up most of the night so, the caffeine content must have been higher than usual. Overall, this place definitely had many different items available for purchase however, I just didn't find the food and drink to be appetizing for my taste buds. I suppose I need to choose different food items, or increase my tolerance for spice! I may return however, I will definitely need advice on what to order the next time around. read more

A Yelp experience last year introduced me to Chaiiwala. This location is the second-closest one by my workplace, which is roughly a 25-minute drive. This place is in a plaza near Erin Mills Town Centre. A No Frills anchors this plaza. I never had an issues finding a parking spot here. I have had the following items: - Karak chaii - Karachi bun kebab The karak chaii has milk in it. I loved it. It was smooth and the spices were balanced. It wasn't terribly hot, which I appreciated. The milk made this drink mildly creamy. It was perfection in a cup. The Karachi bun kebab was flavourful. The minced lamb patty melted in your mouth with each bite. It had a large masala omelette that jutted out of the toasted bun. The omelette had onions, tamarind, and a spicy mango chutney. It was delicious with a complex set of flavours. I revisited this place to get dessert. I originally spotted the halwa cake slice. The woman at the counter recommended the more popular gulab jamun cheesecake that wasn't as sweet. I went with it. I paid for my dessert with a debit card. The transaction was smooth. It didn't take long for me to get my dessert slice in a container. I did takeout. I thanked the woman and left with it. The gulab jamun cheesecake was excellent. I'm glad that I went with this woman's suggestion. It was indeed slightly sweet, with gulab jamun embedded in a creamy cheesecake. This slice was the perfect size to satisfy my dessert cravings. I dined here for my Yelp experience. It was comfortable and cozy. I used the washroom during my first visit. You wave your hand to open the stall and wave your hand inside the stall to lock it. It was clean, but the dryer wasn't working then. I hope that it's fixed now. I've mainly gone for the Karak chai although I've tried their small samosas too. Accompanied with your choice of sauce. They're vegetarian and very oily. This place ebbs and flows with people. Sometimes it's quiet, other times it's very busy. There's lots of table space to sit. The people working the counter are nice. Worth checking out, even if it's simply for a hot creamy tea. read more

Walked in on a Friday night and was pleasantly surprised at how busy it was. There were so many families sitting around the large establishment. I really enjoyed the ambiance, chatters everywhere. It felt like desi folks (especially the elderly & families) have found a place to gather to enjoy chai. The line up was long but moved along quicker. We got a few kashmiri chai & sugar free Karak chai. As a chai connoisseur, I knew to order a sugar free karak chai as their regular is very sweet. Unfortunately, that was a disappointment. It was very bitter, no amount of sugar could salvage the chai. We had either been served chai from the bottom of the pail or it has been brewed for a long time. Finally a good place for chai! I was waiting for something like this. What's unique about it is their menu. They have something called dirty chai. It's a combination of chai and coffee. It was so good. I don't know if you guys relate, but with chai you have to have a cake on the side. I got the chai cake, and that with dirty chai was the perfect combination you can have after a dinner. Next time I won't do a take out because their ambience was actually good and cosy. read more

Chaiiwala is a great place for creamy and sweet chai. The customer service is alwasy great, even when it's busy. During our first visit, we asked about the difference in chais that they offer and the cashier was more than happy to give us samples to make sure we got what we liked which I love. We've been here a couple times since and I can't say I have a favourite as I like all their chais, but tend to lean towards the pink chai. We have yet to try their food as it's always busy for dine in whenever we come, but it's definitely on our list of things to try. read more

Came here to get some breakfast and chai. The chai was amazing. Strong tea flavor and creamy from the milk. I got the masala omelet with parathas. So excited that this franchise is now here in Canada. I have tried them many times in London. My review is solely based on their chai. So I was here a few days back and picked up a large karak chai.The tea was delicious and was out in no time. They have pre made in these large percolators. It was already sweet actually a tad bit sweet got my liking-next time I will ask them if they do have sugarless so I can adjust to my liking. I would have given them a full 5 stars but cutting back on one as the chai wasn't hot. I even asked the lady to make it a bit hotter but still wasn't hot. They do have tons of tea options do see their menu. While I was waiting I saw lots of people order their wraps, bun kababs and dessert cakes. All looked tempting. Will definitely try their food the next time I'm there. Customer service was courteous and quick. It's located in a busy plaza next to dollarma-lots of parking around. The place and ambience is great! But the main complaint I have is that their teas are too sweet! They only have one option without sugar but every other chai was too sweet. They really need to add the option of having sugar on the side. The food - bun kebabs and samosas chaat are good. The naan roll is ok - which again had a sweet sauce in it which was confusing. They make parathas there so I don't know why this wasn't a paratha roll option. They also need to add more gluten free options, like a channa chaat or dahi baray option. Everything had naan or samosas in it (except fries). The service is prompt and friendly and the prices are very reasonable. I hope they add more customization options to the menu because that is the only thing keeping them from being 4 stars. read more

The menu seemed pretty good but our experience today left a lot to be desired. We tried kadak chai and kadak iced coffee and neither of them were kadak. The coffee was very weak and watered down. The chai had too much milk in it and was very weak as well. Our friends who visited with us today mentioned that the chai normally is good there, but it was exceptionally bad today. Place is great! Our hotel is a mile from here, we came back to back days for the chai and more-so the service. Rajvi, who works the register, made the experience extremely pleasant, she was such a delight and thoughtful. She was so great on explaining the different chai options, and allowed us to sample them as well. The pink chai is super creamy, but I'm a sucker for the karak chai as well as the dirty chai.
