I drove from far 1.5 hrs away, I decided to pick up some cheesecake for my family since I was in the area. I got their original and mango creamsicle. Their cheesecakes were really fluffy and it just melts in your mouth. It was delicious! The mango creamsicle was bomb, very flavorful - I would definitely recommend it. The prices were a bit more though compared to other places like Uncle tetsu. Will most likely be back for more cheesecake the next time I'm in the area. read more

I'm sorry? How have I never reviewed Supermoon? I'm only here like all the time. Every holiday, Thanksgiving, Easter, Mother's Day, we ALWAYS have Supermoon in our household. The love all began waaay back when Yelp had a huge event at the Brampton Library. Supermoon was on site with their cheese tarts and I fell in love with the original flavour. No shade to the chocolate tart, it ain't for me. The original has the perfect crust and oh so cream chessey filling. So good. Their original cheesecake is a strong rival against Uncle Tetsu and really, there isn't much of a difference to me. I like how Supermoon has different monthly flavours. Today I tried the strawberry cheesecake for the first time and it's actually soooo good! It has a great strawberry flavour and you can taste the strawberry and cheesecake flavour equally. Yum! Perfectly fluffy Japanese cheesecake that melts in your mouth. Every visit to Supermoon is always a treat for the kids because of its whimsical comic wall and the smell of freshly baked cheesecake. They also have a second location at South Common Mall that is conveniently located by a mall entrance (they have their own door to the parking lot, but I'm not sure why they don't allow patrons to use it). They have 3 staple flavours - original, chocolate and red velvet. Then every month, there's a featured flavoured, think Earl Grey, lemon raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, taro, etc. They also sell original and chocolate bite-sized cheese tarts. I personally prefer Supermoon over Uncle Tetsu and I can support a local business at the same time. The cheesecakes have more cheese favour to them than Uncle Tetsu's and they do jiggle!! We always buy 2 cheesecakes at a time, because my 3- and 5-yo just can't get enough of them. They're light, no whipped cream or toppings, so I don't feel guilty eating this cheesecake at all hours throughout the day. I found out about this gem of a business just over two years ago. My first Yelp event in Mississauga was at Supermoon. I loved everything that I had sampled and knew that I needed to come back. But, when would that be? I managed to have had several cheese tarts and cheesecake slices since then. They were at other events that I was fortunate to attend. My friend and former colleague decided to get our team a cheesecake after I raved about it. She lived roughly ten minutes away from Supermoon, so it was perfectly generous of her to get one for us. What sets Supermoon apart from other Japanese-style cheesecakes is how creamy and moist the cheesecakes are. With other places, they are more on the cake side and I end up washing it down with a beverage. Supermoon is my favourite Japanese cheesecake place. This place tends to offer the following items: - Original cheesecake - Chocolate cheesecake - Red velvet cheesecake - Cheesecake flavour of the month - Bubble tea I do follow Supermoon on Instagram. I noticed that its cheesecake flavour for May was mango creamsicle. OMG! I love mango. I love creamsicle. Swirl them together and I knew that I needed to get it. It was also a couple of days before the end of the month. I needed to act fast! Without any hesitation, I sent a direct message to Supermoon and ordered the mango creamsicle cheesecake. I also wanted four cheese tarts. I have had the original and chocolate in the past, so I wanted two of each. I got a response pretty quickly from Supermoon. During this pandemic, it only makes the original cheese tarts. Bummer! I went with four original ones, which isn't shabby at all. I placed the order on Thursday after work and said that I'd be picking up on a Saturday at 2 pm. I had an order to pick up in Brampton to pick up, so it made sense to drive down here to fetch my goodies. I got to Supermoon just after 2 pm. It looks the same. There was plenty of parking in the plaza. I parked right in front of the main entrance and walked in. The cartoon on the wall showing the legend of Supermoon is still there. Ah, memories! I walked up to the counter and said that I was picking up an order. My order was there waiting for me. Yay! I paid using my debit card. I got my goodies in a cute branded bag. I was thrilled. I thanked the nice woman and proceeded to my car with a huge smile on my face. When I got home, I had a late lunch that ended up being dinner. Roughly 1.5 hours later, I wanted a slice of cheesecake. I went for it and cut a decent slice of cheesecake. The mango creamsicle cheesecake is delightfully yummy! It's airy, creamy, and has the freshest mango flavour mixed it. So good! If I died now, I'd be so content and fulfilled. I have had the original, chocolate, and red velvet cheesecakes in the past. All were scrumptious. I also had the matcha cheesecake as the flavour of the month and it was fantastic. I then had an original cheese tart. I can easily inhale them. The crust is amazing. I normally don't like the crust. It's either too hard that if I throw it against the wall, its shape is perfectly preserved, or it's too bland. This crust is out of this world (pun intended)! It has a buttery taste, but it's not overly buttery. It has salt in it, but not overly salty that you feel bloated. The butter-salt combination pairs exceptionally well with the creamy cheese filling that isn't all that sweet. It is the perfect cheese tart ever. Due to the pandemic, Supermoon has reduced its hours. It's closed Sunday through Tuesday, inclusive. This place also serves bubble tea. It's okay, but it's not the best. I recommend passing on it, and sticking with cheesecakes and cheese tarts. I have missed you, Supermoon. I meant Supermoon but that's ok. The girl working here was Ukrainian and a total sweetheart. I had a chat with her about Ukraine and I think she was impressed by my geographical knowledge. The cheesecake itself (the Mini version) wasn't amazing, but it wasn't bad. It's an interesting experience and one which you should probably try. The cheese tart was probably a little bit better. It tasted like cheesecake and was pretty damn delicious all around. The milk tea was totally forgettable. I don't think they should be selling bubble tea unless they can nail it and do a really good job with it and this one tasted pretty iffy to me - but that's just me. I tried the chocolate cheesecake and it was really good! It's very light, not too sweet and the texture reminds me of a mousse cake. I like that it's very light on the sweetness, it's something different compared to having the regular cheesecakes. This was the first time that I have visited Supermoon Japanese Style Cheesecakes. I have purchased Uncle Tetsu's Japanese cheesecakes numerous times in the past, so I was extremely anxious to try Supermoon's cheesecakes. Unlike Uncle Tetsu, Supermoon offers flavours other than original, which include chocolate, red velvet, and their flavour of the month (which was Mango when I was there). However, to make a comparison between Uncle Tetsu's and Supermoon, I decided to order their original cheesecake. The texture of the Supermoon's cheesecake was like Uncle Tetsu's, being very light and fluffy. I think Supermoon might be even lighter and jigglier. The taste of Supermoon's cheesecake was a bit eggier, almost more custard like, which I liked, but the cheese taste was subtle and could have been a bit stronger. The price of the cheesecake was $12.00, which is a bit high compared to Uncle Tetsu's which was $10.00. However, considering that I did not have to drive to Toronto for a Japanese cheesecake, I will accept the higher price. When I arrived, no one else was there, so we were served right away. Service was very fast and friendly. The person serving me asked if I had visited before. When I said no, she explained that if I collected 10 of the cut-out box tops, I can get a free cheesecake. Overall, the cheesecake had a very good texture and taste, although it did lack a bit of cheese flavour and their service was very good. I first tried Supermoon at a Yelp event and was determined to go back. I was not disappointed when I entered and saw so many options for Japanese cheesecakes. I opted for the original though because it's OG, and also got the original and chocolate cheese tarts to try. The cheesecake was good, but the cheese tarts were AMAZING - the creamy cheese filling works well with the buttery and flaky shell. And like the cheesecake, we found they tasted better refrigerated. We always go to Uncle Tetsu's for Japanese cheesecake, but we thought we'd try this place out for a change. The store is super warm and smells buttery once you walk in, and there is a huge cartoon(?) drawing of the origin of the shop on the left side of the wall. We found on Yelp that this place also sells boba, so we wanted to try both the boba and the cheesecake. There were 5-6 different flavors of bubble tea and we got the mango and the matcha. The mango boba was super sweet and the matcha wasn't too bad. HOWEVER, this is NOT bubble tea shop and the taste of bubble tea alone can be underwhelming if you're only going in for that. They have different flavors of cheesecakes (original, chocolate, red velvet, flavor of the month) as well as small mini tart-looking mini cheesecakes. The flavor of the month was taro. We ended up getting a chocolate cheesecake. The verdict for the cheesecake... it's good. It's a little bit more dense than expected and a little less fluffy (it's a bit heavier than Uncle Tetsu's), but it wasn't bad. I think what attracts people here is the different flavors they have, which aren't bad. If you're looking for the classic, original Japanese cheesecake texture and taste, I'd still stick with Uncle Tetsu's. read more

As far as I know, most Japanese style cheesecake shops are located in Toronto and Markham. There could be a fear that a shop a bit further away from where the action is may not produce cakes of the same quality - but those fears are subsided once you try Supermoon. For anyone who is unfamiliar with Japanese-style cheese cakes, they are significantly lighter and far less sweet/rich as traditional ones. Some people get caught in the debate as to which is better, but for me, it's an "apple and oranges" debate since they're just different and they can both be appreciated in their own right. Being a texture guy, I really appreciate the light fluffiness of the cake. They use three cheeses for the cakes, and a bit of 'tart' quality from that comes through. Everyone enjoyed it at the function I brought the cake to, and the leftover piece I ate the following day held over very well. I also ordered a few of their cheese tarts. Those are in fact quite rich and sweet, but I have no issue with that! The base is almost certainly cream cheese, so if you're looking for more of the traditional cheesecake taste, you may actually find it more in their tarts. read more

Wow I would have never expected to have this in the middle of a run down strip mall. This maybe the first Japanese cheesecake spot I've seen outside of a mall in GTA west. The spot is take out only as there are no tables or even a bar stool. It's quite sparse but there is an adorable cute cartoon of an astronaut rabbit and his adventures. The moon craters in the drawing are almost as big as the pot holes in the parking lot. My visit here on a Friday afternoon was quiet at first with a single person behind the counter. Within a few moments, a line of 4 people just sprouted. Because there was only one person, the 4 people just waited and waited. Don't get me wrong, it was a nice staff person but it's still frustrating to wait and have no service. So there are 2 main offerings ... the Japanese cheesecake and the cheese tarts. The Japanese cheesecake is very different. It's supposed to be a fluffy cotton soft texture that melts in your mouth. I'm not sure how it is here as they don't offer single slices. They also have bubble teas and hot drinks but I think their main item are the cakes and tarts. The cheesecakes come in several flavours: sweet cheese original, chocolate, red velvet, and their monthly flavour mocha. If you want the fluffy Japanese cheesecake, bring friends cause they only sell the one full cake for $12. No slices sadly. The tarts are small and $3 each. Original cheese tart - I appreciated how they were just cooking a fresh batch and we got ours just out of the oven. Since they don't sell slices of the cheesecakes, we got cheese tarts instead. They are shortbread crumbly crust was minimal flavour and filled to the brim with a creamy dense liquid cheese filling. It's almost like a molten traditional cheesecake. The flavour is unmistakably sweet Philadelphia cream cheese. Though the creamy texture is quite nice, I'm not sure if there is anything great that makes me go "ohhh I need more". Still a fairly nice tart 3.5/5 Strawberry bubble tea - huh ... for $6 this was smaller than the small bubble teas of most other places. I think Chatime would be only $4. This drink was sadly watered down. I felt it was not balanced with the amount of ice in it. Overall too small, too expensive, and no real flavour - 2/5 Matcha bubble tea - this was slightly better than the strawberry but not really. It wasn't watery as much but still lacking good flavour that I would expect for $6 for a small cup. It was missing a good matcha flavour. Not very good unfortunately 2.5/5 Overall, I like the looks of the cute place but the lack of great flavours and higher cost makes me think there's better out there. read more

I am SO happy that this relatively new Japanese Style Cheesecake shop is near me. It is in downtown Streetsville, in a plaza where the popular Streetsville bowling alley is located. It is right across from the Christian Bookstore. Look out for Tim Hortons and Gino's Pizza to get into the plaza. Parking is definitely NOT an issue here. Hence, I am SO glad that they chose to open their shop in the plaza instead of the side streets. The shop itself is quite small. This is more of a takeout place so there aren't any tables for customers to enjoy the cheesecakes and tarts. After all, these are full-sized cheesecakes so you will most likely need to share it with people. In terms of the cheesecake, I can say that Supermoon has THE BEST cheesecakes in Toronto. Definitely better the other contestants, such as Uncle Tetsu, HCafe and Cheese Garden. It is soft and airy, and definitely NOT oily. I love that there's a distinct lemon flavour in it. They also claim that they don't add any sugar in it. As a matter of fact, the picture on their menu board says that they use butter, flour, 3 types of cheese, fresh milk and eggs to make the cheesecake. I absolutely LOVE their cheesecakes ($12 each). I also had the privilege to try the flavour of the month cheesecake - Lemon Matcha - in April. It was alright, nothing too spectacular. I can definitely taste matcha flavour, but I still prefer the original. On another occasion, I tried the red velvet one and similar to the lemon matcha, it was only alright. I wasn't wowed by it. I would recommend the original cheesecake to everyone. I totally agree with their slogan, "It is OUT OF THIS WORLD". They also have cheese tarts and I think Supermoon makes them really well. I love their crust as it is buttery but not too oily and it isn't phyllo pastry-like. The cheese filling is both sweet and salty; it is absolutely perfect. I also love that it is 4 for $10 or $3 for 1 - this is a little cheaper than the other Japanese Cheesecake shops. Unfortunately, I am not a huge fan of their bubble tea. It is the powder kind that one can probably make at home. There are various flavours that you can choose from, but I think it is very overpriced ($6 each). I am not sure why they decided to add BBT to their menu. They do serve hot chocolate ($6 each) but I think other drinks such as coffee or tea would be a better choice to pair it with the cheesecakes/cheese tarts. If there is only place that you have to visit in Mississauga, it would have to be Supermoon Cheesecakes!! I don't often go to Mississauga but when I do, I need to make a stop at Supermoon! I first took notice of this place when someone posted it on their IG story and I bookmarked as one of the place to stop by whenever in town. Who knew their Japanese cheesecakes could be so good? This has become my IT and Nbr 1 for Japanese Cheesecakes in the GTA. Supermoon is also one of two only places that selll Japanese Cheesecakes in Mississauga. Their cheesecakes differ from the competition as it is made with three types of cheeses. I love their cakes because they are so moist, airy and it feels very light compared to the other Japanese cheesecakes that I had in the past. Their cakes also remain moister longer as had put a cake in fridge by carefully wrapping it in a bag and it was still very fresh four days later. The shop sells Japanese cheesecakes in original flavour, red velvet and chocolate. The shop also sells a limited special flavour Cheesecake of the month. I've tried the red velvet and original cakes which are now two my favorites flavours. The red velvet cake was also a huge hit when I brought it to a baby shower. I was also lucky enough to be among the first to try heir last flavour of the month: lemon matcha cheesecake. The slice was lemony at first but as the taste settled, your tongue is welcomed by the subtle flavour of matcha. Great for those who are not quite into matcha or find matcha too strong. What an unique combination! The shop also sells BBT and mini cheese tarts. I was given a matcha cheese tart to try with a purchase of a cheesecake. It was quite good. Wow is all i can say about this place! I never had Japanese cheesecake before so this was definitely new for me. My bf and I came right when they opened on a Sunday morning. It is small place that you just order and take it to go. There are no tables so just a heads up for the ones that wanna eat there. We ended up getting the original cheesecake. It was sooo good - fluffy and warm. It wasn't too sweet either which I love about it. I think I could've finished the whole thing by myself lol. This is the place you must try if you're in the area! The staffs that worked there was sooo friendly. She gave us forks and napkins because we wanted to eat it right away. Today I went to pick up the 3 cheesecakes I pre-ordered about a week ago. I wanted an original, chocolate and red velvet for Christmas desserts but I had to pick up today as they are closed tomorrow. When I arrived, they were frantically assembling the pre orders and they had to ask a walk-in customer to come back in an hour to get a cheesecake. It is great so see a new business thriving in Streetsville. They told me they did not have the red velvet for my order as there were so many pre-orders before mine. They offered my cheese tarts instead and the gentleman in charge (owner?) did not charge me for them to make up for the inconvenience (my family loved them!) He said if they made more red velvet later, he would call me and deliver it to me. I told him not to stress over it as they seemed swamped. Well......a few hours later I get a call saying the red velvet was being made and they would drop it off to me. Then they called back a short time later stating the red velvet did not turn out well and they did not want to give me a sub standard product. He asked if I would take another chocolate cake instead. I told him not to worry about it but he insisted that he would drop it off. The same gentleman (owner?) came to my home with the cake. I tried to give him money for the cake and tarts but he wouldn't take it. I really wanted to pay for the cake at least, since he went through so much effort to follow up and deliver it personally to me. He just said no and "merry Christmas". Wow What amazing customer service. This is my 4th experience with them since they opened and they certainly have developed a loyal customer in me (and I don't even eat cheesecake!!) So far I've tried two of their flavours, the original and their 'flavour of the month' for February which was cookies and cream. I would give it a 5 star but I was quite disappointed with the cookies and cream! A 4-star is still pretty good and deserving. The quality and consistency of the canes are very good! It's super creamy and light which is perfect! Just the way I like it! And I like how it's close to home, I don't need to travel too far for some Japanese cheesecake! Sooo the cookies and cream was not great. When I bought it, I was told that it's very similar to the original flavour but with bits of Oreo incorporated into it! I love Oreo and love cookies and cream so I thought I'd give it a try. I was also bringing it to share with a group of people whom I m le would enjoy the flavour too! However, I came to a huge disappointment when I opened the box. The texture was still great....super creamy, fluffy and light BUT tasted nothing like cookies and cream it was basically just the original flavour with a significantly small amount of tiny Oreo bits pressed against the outside of the cake.....boooo!! i picked up the original and red velvet cheesecake a while back, and they were good. nothing out of the ordinary for $14 japanese cheesecake. the original wasn't as sweet as i hoped, and the red velvet had a subtle chocolatey flavour. however, the staff was really friendly and their store and packaging is adorable! was hoping to get their monthly flavour but was told they ran out not even half way into the month?? so if your looking forward to a monthly flavour, get it asap! read more

I've been here twice now, and each time has been a winner. The chocolate cheesecake is so rich, I dream about it every now and then. The prices are a little higher than Uncle Tetsu but they have a buy 10 get one free system (save the moon cutout on your box) so it actually evens out. If you eat that much cheesecake. Which.... I do. While you wait for your order (though wait times are usually less than a few minutes), you can read the super cute cartoon mural on the wall describing how these super moon cheesecakes came about, or ask about their flavour of the month cheesecake! I also picked up a bubble tea here once with my kid, and they were able to split my drink into two smaller cups, and put all the tapioca into one so that there was no choking hazard for the kiddo. Talk about service! Plus, the nice lady behind the counter gave my girl a meringue so clearly a win in her book. Everytime were in the area she says "this is where we get cheesecake from mommy". This place is adorable, especially their mascot/ logo! An awesome alternative, and in my opinion better, to Uncle Tetsu and Pablo. Their cheese tarts are actually "extraordinary" and my family always buys at least 2 boxes each time (4 tarts/ box). These tarts are incredibly creamy yet not as heavy as you would think of a cheese tart. It's also so addictive, it's not possible for me or others to eat just 1 hence why we order multiple boxes each time. Not overly sweet, extremely creamy and quite a generous size per serving, you will most likely need to share one tart with another person before you realize how delicious they are. Their Japanese cheesecake is an exact dupe to Uncle Tetsu, but to me it is even lighter and fluffier! Not much more praise I can give this brand, they just really need to open more locations outside of Mississauga because their branding and products would no doubt do well everywhere. read more

I had been yelping for bakeries in the Mississauga area that would fit my dad's tastebuds - not too sweet, light and tasty. Most bakeries looked either too sweet or too elaborate so when I came across Supermoon, I knew it might be a good fit. What blew me away about Supermoon was that both the employee who took my call and owner who later called me back in the evening went out of their way to help me prepay for a cheesecake over the phone. Usually this is not an event that's worth writing home about, but the distinguishing factor was that I felt that Supermoon really cared about their customers and in giving them a great experience. This is a precious quality that I rarely find in the restaurant business since most are focused on selling products rather than the entire experience that a customer has even from the first phone call. So even though my order wasn't expensive ($12 original cheese cake) and my phone order from the west coast was not convenient for them, when I told them it was for my dad's birthday, they went out of their way to make sure it could happen. They event wrote happy birthday dad on it with no extra charge and gave my dad a complimentary dessert when he picked up the cake the next day. Thank you Sami and your employees for going beyond to turn a simple cheesecake purchase into a very special experience for my dad and I. We will definitely be back! read more

I'm a big fan of Japanese cheescakes and wanted to give this place a try. Service was warm, the whole business is nicely set up, but really, it's all about the product right? We came away with one cheesecake and a few cheese tarts. As far as I'm concerned, I'd say I slightly prefer the Supermoon Cheesecake to Tetsu's: they're both delicious, but Supermoon has a more cheesecake flavour and a bit more substance, but is still very light. For me, this is a winning combination this makes this place my new favorite, but really it's all about what you like personally. The cheese tarts were a pleasant surprise-- small but rich, flavourful and pleasantly mild, with a very light sweetness-- barely there. We're definitely going to be buying these again! Suggestion to the owners-- these cheese tarts are begging for a savoury version! Onions? Tomato? Savoury pastry is so hard to find and these would be a perfect fit. The employees here are super helpful and sweet. Finally went to the store during my break since I was working in the area. It's a cute shop with different types of cakes and tarts on display. They were baking a fresh batch of red velvet when I entered and inquired about placing an order. Pre-ordered a cake for same day pick up. After work, went back to Supermoon to pick up my cake. The employee who provided me with info earlier in the day was the one to ring me up. She remembered who I was instantly. We made conversation and exchanged pleasantries. read more

I totally didn't expect there to be a Japanese cheesecake place in this part of Mississauga. The store has modern and fancy decor with some unique comics to show you how much they love cheesecake! The space theme is a nice touch. The cheesecake is decent but I feel the texture and flavour is superior at Uncle Tetsu. Props to the variety of flavours they offer though. This little cute Japanese bakery has expanded into Main St. of Mississauga. I walked in a little late on Sunday so there were only the originals and cheese tarts left. The bakery was clean and aromatic. I ordered 2 originals and paid $28 in total. The cheesecake was warm and fluffy when I tried it in the parking lot (no judgment) and seemed like it just came right out of the oven. I prefer my cake to be cold and a little more solid so I stuck it in the fridge when I got home. 1. The taste of the cake was fab but seemed a little too sweet 2. The texture and consistency were good frozen and soft 3. The price of the cake was fair as it is one of the only Japanese cheesecake bakery in the area Final verdict: I am still going with Uncle Tetsu or HCafe but this is a very close 2nd, especially if I don't want to trek all the way to Toronto. read more

Glad to have another Japanese cheesecake shop in Mississauga and a location more west! Yay! I made a visit on a weekday just before lunch time to try my luck on getting this cake. A friend of mine recommended me to go during this time as she got one the day before. I am sure glad I took her advice and was able to get this fluffy delight. It sure was fresh as after paying for the cake, our batch would be ready in 10mins or so. There were already a few people waiting and there was only the original flavour available during this time. On the menu, there were chocolate, red velvet and a flavour of the month. I overheard that they would have red velvet later in the afternoon and as I recall the chocolate as well. Anyways, I was there for the original thing as that's the true test if this cake would be good or not. Personally, I did enjoy it as it was light and fluffy but it did not break a part compared to another one I had recently that also newly opened in the area. The cheese flavour is not as strong as some I have had before but I thought the cake was pretty good. Supermoon will also be selling cheese tarts in the future. They already have bubble tea available. There is currently a buy 3 get 1 free offer so if you love BBT and cheesecake, you will definitely satisfy your craving here!! Also, another note is that they are offering a 20% discount for the cheesecakes which is a sweet deal..So definitely give Supermoon a try asap! Lastly just to mention briefly on the decor/logo, it is super duper cute. I love the "the legend of supermoon" wall- look to your left when you walk in!
