Hot tub kept having green like mold floating in the water every time we try to fill it plus as you see in the picture it had some black residue as if it's been leaking for a while. Massage chair we couldn't use that you've seen. It was extremely dirty. I started wiping it down with Lysol wipes and just got frustrated because this is something I shouldn't have to be doing. It's ripped it looks very used. Bathroom was not 100% clean, shower curtains were a bit dirty, shower is a bit beat up for the price that this company charges you would think everything is top notch this location needs to upgrade their rooms as well as have higher standards on cleanliness and presentation of the rooms for the prices they are charging.

Room 306 had a torn window screen, empty shampoo and body wash bottles. The rooms were advertised as two queens but felt like two full size beds. There was no breakfast offered and nobody manning the Starbucks. The Marriott computers were down for two days so we needed someone to manually unlock our doors. The pool has not been functioning for a year! The hotel overall is rundown and in need of repairs. The bathrooms need to be renovated; new toilets, shower curtains, caulking, etc. The hallways reeked of weed. Look elsewhere! On the plus side, Trinity, at the front desk is that hotel's only saving grace. Give her a raise and promote her!

(So many don't enough) Friendly check in and breakfast area was clean and well stocked. One of the better HI Expresses I've stayed in. If anything, I'd wish for a bigger TV. It wasn't small by any means, but it would have been great if it had a little more size.

The front desk staff was very nice but for some reason they put me in a handicapped accessible room. I do not need the accessibility and based on the few cars in the lot, there must be tons of availability. Lastly, the toilet didn't flush, so I had to reach into the tank and connect the chain.

MANAGING EXPECTATIONS…read more  For $95/night, I'm not getting a hotel with an omelette bar, and I accept that.   Credit my wife for suggesting a spur-of-the- moment trip to Wisconsin this past weekend.  We spent two nights at this Candlewood Suites in Brown Deer, roughly 8 miles north of downtown Milwaukee.  There's a Culvers nearby on Green Bay Rd.   Candlewood Suites are part of the Intercontinental Hotels Group, which also includes Staybridge Suites and the Holiday Inn family.  There's no continental breakfast, no juice bar, no muffins or pastries.  No pool, either--just a gym.   Check-in was fine and the staff seemed friendly.  While the room's keycard let us in the first time no problem, every following attempt was iffy at best.  I think the card reader on our door knew we were from Illinois ("get outta here, ya FIBs!")   And so we stood outside our room, keycard in hand, trying to find the perfect motion and angle to insert the ƒu¢k!ng thing.  Last few places we've been, the cards were RFID/tap and entry was seamless.  In the event I was just being a moron, I asked my wife to try and she had plenty of difficulty as well.   The bed was comfy.  Pillows and blankets were fluffy, good water pressure in the shower.  Having a kitchenette at our disposal was a big help; we made ample usage of the full-size fridge, microwave, and electric stovetop, though we stopped short of needing to run the dishwasher.   After returning from the Wisconsin State Fair, we hoped the hotel corridors would offer a break from the heat.  Alas, the A/C was off in both the elevator and hallways and, coupled with the issues we had getting the room key to work, it was an unpleasant few minutes...during which I contemplated using a nearby fire axe to gain entry to our room.   * TL;DR *   I'm not expecting caviar and champagne toasts from a 2-star booking.  I expect room keys to work more than 80% of the time, and air conditioning in the hallways when it's blazing hot outside.  Not too much to ask, I think.   Would I stay at a Candlewood Suites again in the future?  Maybe, if the only other option was an Econo Lodge or a Days Inn.   I'd grade our time here as a 'C-'......passable, but not pretty.
