We rented Bear Mountain II at Chalet Village in March. We definitely felt the "Luck O' The Irish" after making the drive up the winding mountain roads to a beautiful rental home on St. Patrick's Day. If you live in a flat state like I do and are not used to driving on mountain roads, you may want to ensure you arrive before dark. We needed a place for family from both Chicago and Tampa, FL to meet and this was the perfect spot. Once we arrived, it was a nice surprise to find this spacious, clean and comfortable home on the side of a cliff. From the front driveway, the home appears smaller. But once you enter, you are greeted by a beautiful vaulted ceiling, well kept hardwood floors and inviting, open spaces. The 3 bathrooms were all very nicely decorated and we love the large, updated showers. The bear decor throughout the house we stayed in is so charming and the kitchen is very well stocked. It was a treat having a hot tub to sit in after a long day of hiking. We also appreciated the pet friendly accommodations. We've rented VRBO houses before and always end up bringing our own hand soap, paper towels and toilet paper. But the host provided plenty of these items for our entire 3 night stay. We had a gracious host and he was a great communicator. Sadly, we did not see any bears during our stay but witnessed amazing views of the city lights, moon, stars and sunrise from the decks. The swing on the porch, pool table, ice maker and washer dryer are added bonuses too. Spring Break of 2019 was pretty successful thanks to the cabin that we rented from Chalet Village. Our Cabin was located at 1734 Zurich. The drive to the cabin was harrowing to say the least. I've rented in Gatlinburg before but never experienced such s scary drive to the cabin. Due to how high the cabin was and how narrow the streets were we made sure to be completed with our activities long before it got dark..which in March was before 7:30. The cabin itself we loved. Unlike other reviews our cabin was very clean. There were plenty of towels to last us our time there. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, dishes, pots and pans and coffee filters. The disappointment for us was the view...or lack there of. There was no backyard...just a large embankment wall that residents above you could see onto the property. Sitting on the front porch provided the view of the road by which u got to the cabin. If you looked to your left then there is a small mountain view... But nothing majestic. The ladies who keep track of renter's were really nice and easy to work with. read more

Our cabin was absolutely amazing. The check in process was easy and the office staff was super sweet. Our cabin 2240 Among the Clouds was super clean and just overall very efficient for my family. I left a review last year on the actual website regarding our stay. I was hoping this time would be much better, but...cleanliness guys, c'mon. First thing I noticed when we were walking through the cabin was that the dining room table had not been wiped down. Food smears and can rings were very obvious. The bottom floor just felt weird almost humid. I could feel moisture on the furniture, bedding, etc. THEN, as my husband and I are sitting on the couch with our infant son a ROACH runs down the back of the couch. Eeeesh...I killed it for you Chalet Village, no worries about that. The most annoying thing was the noise. The bedroom was downstairs and anytime my husband upstairs would move it would wake me or my son up. The floor just has no insulation whatsoever ever. read more

Three couples rented the cabin at 1257 Bear Cub Way for 5 nights for over $2,200. The advertisement for this unit shows a photo of a lone cabin surrounded by trees. When we drove up to the rental site it turned out to be a long row of cabins on both sides of the street. We were surprised and disappointed. The cabin is advertised as 3 master bedrooms with 3 master baths. Two couples settled into two rooms with full baths. The third couple had a choice of a game room with a pullout bed and a toilet or a tiny loft with a bath, no shower and no privacy. The loft had a comfortable bed but also had a huge plate glass window that looked out on the unit across the street. There was nowhere to stand for privacy when changing clothes. There was no closet or place to hang clothes in either the game room or the loft. You could not sit on the toilet and close the door to the enclosure. Neither choice was a master bedroom or bath. The showers were either scalding or ice cold. It was only ice cold when the scalding ran out. There was no in between and no way to set it to just cold. The cabin was dirty. There were no light bulbs in many lamps. There were dead bugs, dirty floors, dirty kitchen counters and wet laundry in the washing machine. When the oven was turned on it smoked. There was a pan of bacon grease left in the oven. That was not smoking. The inch-thick crud on the oven walls was smoking. The cleaning crew did leave a note letting us know it was OK to tip, however. The integrity of the cabin is questionable. There is sawdust around every flat surface outside the house on all levels. The cabin is infested with carpenter bees. The finial on the front porch is falling off. Woodpeckers are the main predators of carpenter bees, so we heard a lot of pecking at all hours. The agent knew we were three couples with three pickups and three trailers with motorcycles. We would not have been able to navigate the narrow driveway and tight turns with the trailers. That didn't matter because there were only two parking spaces allotted to this rental. There were a few overflow spaces at the entrance to the site that accommodated our trailers and bikes; however, we were not happy to leave our bikes and our third personal truck out of sight. Overall, we were disappointed. This cabin did not meet any of our expectations for a vacation rental. We all wished we had stayed at a hotel instead. read more

Had a stay here with my wife and two kids last April. The cabin's name is 403 Brookside Hideaway. The people at the office were friendly and welcoming during check-in. We were on or way to the cabin fairly quick. The chalet does look nice and sits in a very private spot, great surrounding. It is very spacious for a family of four with two bedrooms, one on the second floor; dinning room, two bathrooms, kitchen and nice living room. The sofa does not open as a bed. It could be a little tricky for some to drive up the hill, but is very manageable. The entrance to the road that leads to the chalet is by the Welcome Center, which becomes useful to leave the car parked for free and take the Trolley in town. It is close to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. I would surely stay here again. read more

1204 Double Creek Cabin was our destination in the Smokey Mountains. You will not be disappointed with this location. A gorgeous view out every window. The cabin is nestled into the mountain with creeks running down both sides. The relaxation you can find sitting on the deck off the kitchen is just what we were looking for. This home is decorated impeccably with details like no other -- beautiful wood throughout the home; comfy couches to sink in and read a good book; master bathroom on the first floor has the most beautiful tile and decor details; a large hot tub to soak away any stress sits on the deck for enjoying music and wine and down time. The location is very convenient into the Gatlinburg area or up to the ski hill location. You can hop on the trolley right at the base of the mountain for convenient travel in and out of Gatlinburg and/or Pigeon Forge area. We grilled out every night on the deck and drank coffee and read books in the morning. Very good internet connection included and multiple TV's throughout. If it's a clean, attention to detail cabin in the mountains you are looking for, this is the place to be! read more

Great Views in Dense Fog and Clear Panoramic Views! Chalet Village is a realty agent for vacation home rentals in the mountains above Gatlinburg. We chose a townhouse property on Ski View Drive that on clear days has excellent views to Gatlinburg over a thousand feet below. The property was complete with two decks, an outdoor hot tub, indoor whirlpool tub, propane grill, gas fireplace, 3 HDTVs, pool table, garage, laundry, and other amenities. We checked in on 12/30/2015 for 5 nights. The property was clean and well-supplied, but is showing some signs of wear. We enjoyed our stay and would rent through Chalet Village again - maybe a different property next time. read more

Chalet Village is my go to when renting a cabin in Gatlinburg. I love that most of their cabins are right above Gatlinburg, since that is my favorite area. All the cabins I have stayed in are beautiful and equipped with every modern convenience. The office staff are extremely friendly and very helpful answering any questions you have. I'm so glad I came across them a few years ago, and I can't imagine ever booking a cabin with anyone else but them in the future! read more

They have the nicest cabins and every place I've ever stayed in, has been super clean and stocked with everything I could possibly need during my stay. Fantastic views - so many great cabin options with wonderful amenities! We went there in May 2015, we chose the honeymoon cabin with breathtaking view of the Smoky Mountains directly from cabin's deck and hot tub! Very private and quiet. The price is within reasonable range and the staff at the office were very friendly! They do offer a list of restaurants that have delivery which is super nice! Like other people have mentioned, it may be a bit tricky to drive up on the hills but it's worth the drive! Will plan on coming back again soon! read more

Most AWESOME place to stay in the mountains of Tennessee in my humble opinion because they are so nice to us.

My boyfriend and I, along with a group of 12 other friends, stayed at the Bear Paw Lodge during Valentine's weekend 2015. This 7,200 sq. ft. cabin is FANTASTIC!. With 7 bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms plus more space to accommodate additional guests, the place was spacious to say the least. King beds and bathrooms in every bathroom though some bedrooms have to share a bathroom. The kitchen is huge but not much is provided other than dishes so prepare to bring all your food, seasonings, etc. The living room on the main floor was nice with a flat screen TV (though it wasn't used much. Also a sound system and fire place included. When we stayed, the fireplace on the main level and the one outside on the patio both were not working. We were not informed of this until the day we were supposed to arrive due to the previous guest breaking it during their visit. Understandable, but very disappointing that we weren't able to use the outdoor one. The basement was my favorite part decked out with another smaller kitchen, 2 bathrooms, pool table, card table, couches, TV, etc. There was even a Golden Tee video game machine available to play whenever we wanted which was a big hit especially with the guys. Also a fireplace that worked well. Outside the basement, there was a huge hot tub which we used each night we were there. Only real issue we had aside from the broken fire places on the main level was on our final night there the dishwasher upstairs and downstairs and the upstairs kitchen sink were unusable due to a leak. The other couple of days we were there, there wasn't a problem but we had to call for a plumber who took about 4 hours to arrive and did not fix the problem. So we had to wash dishes in different sinks throughout the cabin. Overall, my friends and I had an absolute blast and I would definitely visit again in the future. Highly recommend. read more

We stayed here on the first weekend in October 2011. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about our experience. I've never been to Tennessee before and never anticipated how my fear of windy roads, steep and high mountains would affect me. We originally had a chalet that was high on top of the hill and while it was beautiful, I could not wait to get down the hill and hoped to not have to go back up. My husband called the office and they immediately placed us in a better place lower on the mountain. There was no hassle. They were happy to help us out and best of all, the chalet had an amazing view of the Smokies, the tram and plenty of room for my husband and 2 kids. We stayed in the Heaven Sent unit, and it truly was heaven sent! read more
