Hard to describe the experience in this restaurant. The food is great, the entertainment is great and the service is really great. Let's start with the bread. Sounds crazy, but this was one of the best bread services I've had. The bread came with 3 different flavor infused butters, one with garlic and chives, one with citrus and one with truffles. They were all really amazing. The seabass black ceviche was also the best ceviche we had during our trip. The flavor was tangy and the fish with veggies was really something special. The octopus salad appetizer was pretty good, but probably the only thing I wouldn't get again. The porterhouse was tender and well seasoned, went well with the side of creamed corn we got. The last dish was the seasonal fish dish and that was super good too. We actually ate dinner from 7-11pm, eating and enjoying the multiple shows and celebrations that happen in the restaurant. This is truly an "Instagramable" restaurant. Every corner is gorgeous and the layout of the entrance is beautiful! The show the dancers put on along with the guitarist is breathtaking, I've never seen anything like it before. They also have a mini fashion show with the staff during dinner which I also have never seen anything like it before. As for the food, the only thing that was worth mentioning was the surf and turf tacos. The tacos were amazing and probably the best ones I had the whole trip. As for the raw fish and all the other food, everything was either fishy or just average. Aside from the food, we had a few drinks, good taste but they were very weak. We originally booked a reservation for Taboo and the restaurant was booked for a private event with no knowledge to us. The manager from Taboo sent us via taxi to this restaurant as it was a sister company. We were greeted by management by shots and promise for a good time. The food was okay but not as good as expected. The music was repetitive. Then once we received the check we were charged for the "inconvenience shots". We were told that we would have a ride back to our hotel, just to be denied that service. Before walking 15 minutes back to my resort the manager decided to take us back in his own personal vehicle. The customer service was poor. The communication with bookings and just in between restaurants is poor. Then to be talked to in a degrading manner, when all you're trying to do is follow up on the promises that were told to you, is very disrespectful. Spent $400 USD to be treated poorly. A feast for your eyes! I have to thank previous reviewers recommendations on how and what to order. Portions are very large and one tends to over order and thus add unnecessarily to the bill. You don't go here for a romantic dinner - you go to enjoy the atmosphere and most importantly watch people - from large parties to the models - providing great entertainment. The food is good enough not to upset anyone given that you will spend close to $300 / couple. I think you should go once to see it. read more

Chambao review Took about 30 mins to be seated after we arrived on time for our reservation. We were seated at the bar until our reservation time, okay cool. But 30 mins went by without being seated. Super unprofessional. Juan at the bar was kind enough to talk to us and offer us drinks complimentary since he noticed we've been waiting forever and proceeded to ask the host about our table. He came back saying she said that the table will be ready in 5-10 mins, they're cleaning it off now.... That took another 15mins. Once we were seated, they offered us another round of mojitos and a bottle of water in a fashion that we assumed were complimentary because of the extensive wait time. There was a lot going on in general. Just seem like chaos. Nice concept but really chaotic. Another thing, it's so loud in here, so don't expect to have a conversation with the person you're sitting at the table with. Now on to the actual food... We ordered two different empanadas: 4 cheese & criollo. The 4 cheese was very gooey, like I cut into it and all the cheese spilled out. The criollo was okay, def over seasoned. We both ordered lamb chops and they were just okay, I don't think it was worth the price imo. Then the bill came & things that were supposed to be on the house weren't and nothing was done to accommodate our wait of nearly an hr to be seated. The valet situation is a MESSSSSS! Omg just complete chaos! Waited 45 mins for a damn car!! I would not visit nor would I recommend this place to anyone. I really love Chambao, I've been going to that place for a couple of years now, they used to have fireworks which I loved but now they dont have them. They still have the dancers which are great and the guitarrist that plays flamenco is awesome. Food has good a bit down but its normally good. I would still recommend it but they need to do some improvements. read more

Let me start saying that we were had high expectations about this place, recommended by friends. Beautiful ambiance and sunset. That was the end of our enjoyment. The drinks and appetizers were very underwhelming for the price. The servers did everything they could to enhance the experience. We brought a very special bottle of wine from our cellar to enjoy with our main course. We left the bottle with the hostess when we arrived. The hostess never communicate with the staff or manager. When we finally asked if they could open the bottle, the manager approached our table to let us know they would not be able to accommodate us. He returned 5 minutes later and offered to open the bottle for $80 USD ( they don't have a corkage fee, he was going to charge us for the cheapest bottle at the wine list). We decided that we would not be taken advantage of and asked for the check. He was very polite and very sorry, but by that time we lost the desire to stay and celebrate our anniversary. There is so much more, but I think I said enough not to ever go back there or any of the Group Rosa Negra. read more

My friends and I recently had the misfortune of dining at Chambao Cancun, and I must say it was a truly disappointing experience. It's taken me a couple days to come down from my anger to even write this review. From the moment we arrived, the sweltering heat made the entire dining area unbearable, leaving us drenched in sweat throughout the entire meal. It was incredibly uncomfortable and not at all what one expects when dining out. They did move our table but it was still hot. We knew it was a semi outdoor experience but we had been to a restaurant the day before where it was comfortable. Our group went to Chambao for my friend's birthday as she had attended in 2022 and raved about the food, experience, and service. When our waiter greeted us, he asked if we wanted birthday shots. Of course we said YES and assumed they were free as he suggested Lemon Drops. Needless to say, we were wrong... I specifically asked for a shot with dark liquor. They asked me 3 separate times and took over an hour to deliver 1 shot. Our other drinks took an eternity to arrive, and even simple orders seemed to be lost in a black hole. We watched as other tables were served before us, despite arriving later. The wait staff appeared indifferent and failed to provide any explanation or apology for the delay. To add insult to injury, we were overcharged for items we never even received. They charged us $22 USD EACH for 8 bottles of water! When we brought this to the attention of the staff, they acted as if it was our fault, showing no remorse. We eventually got them to lower the total to 4 bottles because it was no way we had 8 bottles. Even still $88 USD for bottled water is utterly ridiculous. Then, the checks were a mess! There was food on my check that I was told was sold out, drinks we didn't order, and people's orders mixed up. Every time they went to "fix" our check, the staff was gone for 20 minutes or more leaving us to waste more of our vacation time. If that wasn't enough, towards the end of our meal, we were shocked to find ourselves being chased out of the restaurant, as if we were attempting to dine and dash. The issue was with them not accepting a Discover card but that was not told to us at the table. It was a humiliating and entirely false accusation, leaving us feeling disrespected and deeply offended. Overall, my experience at Chambao Cancun was nothing short of a disaster. The scorching heat, excruciatingly long wait times, subpar food, and accusatory treatment make it impossible for me to recommend this establishment to anyone. The decor, ambiance, entertainment are top tier but so are the prices to accommodate all of that. Our experience at Chambao did not live up to the hype nor did it equate to the amount of money spent and wasted 4 hours of our long awaited otherwise stress free vacation. At their price point, we needed and more importantly we DESERVED better. Especially being there to celebrate our friend's birthday. read more

If you come late enough, there's cool aerial dancing where the dancers hang from ropes right over the water! There's lively celebrations and bottle service here if you order that or shots. We liked the lobster and crab Mac n cheese and short rib here. The gold encrusted potato was a bit too dry. Also, the tables are pretty close in proximity so it can feel a big stuffy and overwhelming at times. They also have hookah here!!!! Overall a great place for a tourist! read more

We brought a special bottle of wine from our cellar to celebrate our anniversary. We left it at the hostess stand. We had cocktails and an appetizer and then asked if we could open the bottle to enjoy with our main course. At this time, we were told that this was not possible. After a nice conversation with the manager, he said we could open it for an $80 USD corkage fee. Had we known, we would have looked for somewhere else to dine. The place is beautiful with beautiful people working there. The cocktails and appetizers were overpriced and underwhelming to say the least. I feel terrible for the waiting staff, as they did a great job. The bread service was the only redeeming quality. We love to travel and spend our hard earned money, but we will never return to this restaurant or any restaurant managed by the Rosanegra Group. I can't say enough about this restaurant... this by far is my favorite restaurant. Just to be clear best dining experience I have ever had. The atmosphere was perfect including dim lighting great decorating and a very inviting atmosphere it was clean and beautiful at night. The food was incredible I had the Kobe beef burger and it was amazing. The service is the best part. I didn't expect a show when me and my group arrived but we got a show. A troop of models walked around the restaurant stopping from time to time to show of the clothing they were wearing. A man with great guitar playing walked from table to table accompanied by a dancing woman in a dress. Acrobats (female) were spinning on cloth over the water right by our tables. And to top the night off they set off fireworks over the water while Frank Sinatra played in the background. I can't wait to go back. read more

Things you should know before you go. 1 you will be charged for water and they will keep filling your glass without asking. Make sure to keep count of the bottles they give you. I got charged for 3 extra bottles. However after I noticed they removed them from the bill. Then we ordered a bottle which they do show with sparklers. One of the sparklers fell on one of the girls head burning her and the girl next to her. After the manager was notified nothing was done. Food was okay but not worth was they charge. $36 American dollars for tacos to me was excessive. Wouldn't go again. Not even for the view. Find your table, it'll be crowded and set pretty impossibly which is just the beginning of the adventure. Order drinks, just order them because the menu won't show up for a bit. Now food, where to start? How about the Lucifer steak, it could feed a nation or at least a small army. Order it. Now how about some... oh shit everyone is getting birthday cake and the music is blasting, is everything on fire? No that's just two dozen models with sparklers. Oh the cake is so good, like a stick of butter with some chocolate sauce. I dunno there are sparklers again. Yeah totally a sexy rope show. It's probably time to light a cig as you're so full and not sure if this is a club or a dinner spot. Substitute teachers from the Midwest are dancing on tables and your partner is now in a conga line. BOOM BOOM BOOM firework show just started and the lights are out. Perfect chance to steal the whole tables potatoes and maybe smash a bit more cake in your face. Fashion show, evening wear, sparklers, espresso please. How long have you been here? It was my wife and my 3 year anniversary and we wanted to have a nice dinner and she chose Chambao I would go back in a heartbeat if we had on in the United States. If I could give zero stars I would. They force appetizers on you before your order and they will charge you for 10 waters if you order 1. FYI 10 waters equals $300 USD to them lol. This was definitely an experience in dining that I had never experienced before! First, let me say that the food was fantastic! The steaks were tender and huge, the lamb chops were cooked to perfection and all the appetizers were great! The iceberg wedge salad was definitely for a group of four! It was huge and delicious! Now, the atmosphere was festive to put it mildly! The music was loud, the celebration sparklers were constantly going off, singing and dancing was going on all over the restaurant, and they even had women hanging and twirling over the balcony! It was sensory overload! We still had a great time. If you're going for a nice quiet dinner, this is not the place!
