If you are a bride or groom planning a wedding, note that Lynn was a Knot 2010 pick for wedding planning and she was picked for a reason. Her office is located centrally and she was available through my whole six months of wedding planning call, email, text. Her husband also has a business in the same office, conveniently he is a DJ so you may consider using him as one of your vendors. She will help you work within a budget and give you suggestions to work within your budget. Lynn has a job I'd never want to have and that is working with crazy brides and let's face it, they have television shows like "Bridezilla" for a reason. If you would consider yourself a rational person wanting to have an amazing wedding within a budget and want to have someone share that pressure with you so you don't go crazy, Lynn is a fabulous choice and well worth her services. However, if you would not consider yourself a rational person and you find yourself doing things like yelling at close friends for no reason, wanting the impossible, please do not bother Lynn. After working with her I really like her as a person and would hate to see you waste her time.

Once we decided to cancel our wedding, her emails were short, she would forget what dates we were to reschedule our engagement photos and wasn't helpful at all with recommendations of what to wear for our bio photos and replied late via email. I spoke to her once over the phone and the rest were just emails. One would also think that she would have at least called to follow up and confirm, but instead she sent a one sentence email. To what I feel is bad business etiquette. (We wanted to still have some type of photos done since we gave her a large deposit- 1/2 the amount of total package and didn't want to easily give her that money). We signed the agreement on 03/31/10 and ONLY NINE days later, we regretfully had to cancel our wedding. You would think as in "good faith", she would give us some of our deposit back, but all she said was "sorry". I understand that it is in the contract that the deposit is non-refundable, but one would think with only a few days in signing the contract that she would "be human" and give us at least half of our deposit back. It is still with great hesitation that we decided to not work with her at all and give up our $650 deposit. Someone with this type of work ethic (or lack thereof) will not be in business long. I find it very disheartening that someone wouldn't have the understanding and be empathetic and provide some compensation. Bad form.

She is super knowledgeable about all aspects of weddings, from budgeting to venues to vendors to details and so many other things. Our wedding was beautiful and she made it all happen. She made it all easy and I never felt overwhelmed in the process. We planned our wedding in under a year and she was with us the whole time. She is communicative over text and email, has a great way of explaining things along the way and has great advice. We had a Jewish wedding and she already knew everything she needed to know (this was something that was a huge priority for me). She clearly has a great rapport with vendors and made sure everything went smoothly. The vendors she recommended were wonderful. We had a beautiful day and now have the most incredible photos and video to remember it all forever. Riley's eye for detail and really capturing what we were going for was outstanding. I didn't have to try to figure out how to make a table look beautiful or how to place florals, she did it all perfectly. Early in the planning process we talked big picture, and she asked me a couple of more detailed questions. When it was clear I wasn't going to be super helpful with the specific details she took over, showed me what she was planning throughout the process, and I never felt overwhelmed. The day of the wedding she had assistants and all kinds of support. I had the opportunity to spend much of the day with Drew, who was incredibly kind and calming. I felt a little chaotic early in the morning (I didn't organize the items needed for flat lay photos very well). She was really calm about the whole thing and we got it all figured out. I was absolutely freaking out and started interviewing a few other planners to take on my wedding with little time and little planned. The moment I got on the phone with Merilee I knew she was the perfect fit for us. We hired her based on our call because she was honest with us and forward with expectations. Honestly I don't know how she did it but she pulled off planning my wedding in less than 60 days and my wedding looked like it should be on the cover of a magazine it was so gorgeous.
