Update - I'm still going to this European Wax Center. The peach fuzz issue must have been from that particular aesthetician because it hasn't happened in at least 10 years. They are also better at not trying to sell as much - the front desk staff still pushes packages - which is annoying, but the waxers no longer try to push product on me, which I appreciate. They still have a few issues that frustrate me when I go there - like the fact that they insist on keeping my credit card on file and they seem to have a lot of turnover - but nothing that is enough to stop me from going back. read more

I have been coming here for quite a while and Norma has my go to wax specialist. She's so friendly and personable. Sometimes she's running behind and I don't know if it's because of other guests or what but generally if it's only 5 minutes or so I'm really not bothered. Although one time my appointment was delayed a full 20 minutes - but I still give 5 stars because this was one instance and Norma really is a great wax specialist. The front desk staff is generally nice and helpful. They seem flexible to help people calling squeeze into appointments. Sometimes front desk can be a little snippy but 95% of the time I've seen them be nothing but helpful. read more

I am new to Brazilian waxing and was pretty nervous the first time I went in. My first visit was ok, I ended up having everything removed even though that wasn't my initial plan but didn't have a chance to specify before it was too late. Yikes! But I read some reviews on Yelp and saw that Norma was great, gentle & as pain-free as possible so I booked my second appointment with her. And now that I had another great appointment with Norma on my third visit today, I have found MY wax girl! So I'm pretty disappointed. I've been to this location once before so I wouldn't say this is exactly common but I do think it could've been prevented. I went to get my brows done for my bachelorette in two days. My lady was nice but very distracted and I think the wax was left on too long, or something. I usually have some redness the day of but this HURT it was burning and I iced it the day of and I woke up and this is what it looks like. So I'm hoping it goes away before my bachelorette this weekend. Also unfortunately they wouldn't honor my birthday coupon as well. It was valid 8/1-8/31 and it was sent to my email on 8/17. I went in on 9/7 and they wouldn't honor it which I do understand I'm outside the window because it's now expired however I also received it 17 days late. I showed the lady the email time stamp and she requested my drivers license which reflected my birthday as well. So if you have a late in the month birthday just know, it has to be used the same month, not within 30 days. Which I feel like is a glitch that could be fixed to make it even for everyone to use regardless of when in the month your birthday is. Overall I don't mind paying full price and understood but not with after what my eye looks like after the wax. So I write this review due to the girls in the front desk. How long is it going to take for management to fix what's going on. The girls in the front do not greet everyone. They greet the ones they are familiar with only. Talk about not being welcoming. Secondly, my appt is at 8:30 and I check in early as I do not like to be late. Clearly it says arrived 10 min early for check in. Which I tried and the blonde girl in the front says I have to wait until 8:30am and wait outside not in the Lobby!!! I love my services here with Norma but this place needs to re-evaluate there front desk girls. read more

Very poor customer service. I called to cancel my subscription and receive a refund. The office advised my subscription was canceled and they cannot issue a refund. A month later I received another charge, when I called back to get a refund they told me I never told them I wanted to cancel, but stated I was "unsure". So I'll start with the fact that this was my first time coming to European Wax Center. I absolutely loved it here. The staff was very friendly, and the location itself was very clean. The staff are definitely taking the necessary steps to ensure the safety of the customers and staff in the midst of this pandemic. Yesterday I had THE worst experience in my life (30 years, so far) of waxing. I was stunned. I've been going to this location since they opened and on 4/13 I was treated so badly that I started shaking with rage. Usually the service is excellent, which is why I so shocked about what happened yesterday. The experience would have made me give them a 1-star rating, but DAKOTA saved the day, so it's bumped to 4-stars. Until yesterday, for the most part this is a 5-star location. In the past I knocked a star off due to their very hard selling of products whenever you go in. However, you can have your info noted to not do the selling thing. Moving on. Friday, April 13th experience: NEVER, EVER get any services by SONJA. She deserves a -5. Absolutely unprofessional, apathetic and possesses zero interpersonal skills, and no welcoming smile or welcoming anything really. Her entire demeanor was about not wanting to be there. This is what happened. First, the wax was way too hot, but I let it go 'cause there are worse things. That worse thing was her slooooooowly removing the hardened wax. Took her sweet time, which inflicts an extra level of drawn out pain. When she did it the 2nd time I said, "you can pull it off faster". Her response (snarky) was, "well, this is how I do it". Umm. Okay? I said, "uhhh, been getting my eyebrows waxed for decades, so believe me when I say you can go faster". "This is how I was trained." (Where? With the CIA in Iraq?!?!) Sigh. As she refused to pull faster & solve the problem, she says, "do you want someone else to finish?" and I answered, "I guess so since you don't want to do it". She left the room and I decided to also leave the room 'cause I pretty much assumed she would spin the problem, framing herself as some put-upon victim dealing with an unreasonable client, which--surprise!!--is exactly what I walked into. So I explained what occurred to the manager, what was said, and SONJA starts laughing. I say to the manager, "and now she's laughing at me". Then SONJA actually says, "I think it's funny". ...... blink. Just gobsmacked at how unprofessional SONJA is. The manager sent me off with a different waxer, this one named Dakota. And she was 100% FANTASTIC! Friendly, skilled, helpful. DAKOTA saved the day. I vented a little, then was over it, and we chatted about fashion, travel, having kids, etc. Super nice girl. I will definitely request DAKOTA in the future. She's apparently quite popular (I can see why) so her schedule fills up quickly. Sorry this is so long, so what it comes down to is: Avoid SONJA like the plague (unless you're a fan of rudeness & torture) and DAKOTA is amazing, skilled, professional, and friendly. read more

Not welcoming at all!!! They definitely need new receptionist! They are very rude, and not pleasing at all. I've came to this location about 3 times cuz it's the nearest to me and they've always been so rude. The waxers are always so nice, nothing bad to say about them, always so lovely. But the girls in the front are so unprofessional so unpleasant for them to laugh after you ask them questions making you feel dumb for even asking anything. This is the closest location to me and I will be looking for a different location as of my experience today. I will not be back, I've been to a few European centers since I travel for work and this is by far the worst customer service ever. I will start with the positive. Every wax specialist I had was great. However, don't be fooled into purchasing the wax pass! Although I still had passes remaining from the previous year, I went ahead and renewed and did the 4 monthy payments for another year. Life happened and I found out that I would not be able to use any of the passes, the ones from the previous year or the ones that I just purchased. I requested a refund and was told that the only thing they could do was apply the passes to a gift card or transfer to another service. This was not going to work for me. I absolutely had to stop waxing! When I asked to have my request considered by different managers, I was ignored. Therefore, I went to the Better Business Bureau. They tried to negotiate on my behalf however European Wax Center ignored them as well. I can't help but wonder how any of their employees would feel if they had over $500 of their hard earned money floating in outerspace. I tried to handle this politely but I guess this is the only way to get their attention. DO NOT BUY THE WAX PASS FROM ANY OF THE SALONS! Tell all of your friends! Do not get a Brazilian wax from Becca. I am glad I looked before I left because it was not a good job at all. When I questioned her she said it was my fault because I was not positioning myself so she couldn't do a good job. I said if you would have said something to me then I would have made sure to lay correctly so she was able to do her job. She had a bad attitude towards me after that. Also no communication during the process or to even explain why she could not do a proper wax. Hi, my first time there at the Litchfield location. Also my first time to get a Brazilian wax. The only waxes I've had are eyebrows and upper lip. I scheduled my first Brazilian with Norma based on Yelp reviews and she did not fail. Norma Made me feel comfortable and lessened my feelings of embarrassment and vulnerability. Pain status- there were some spots that made me yelp, lol. I made a comment of not doing this again. But I think I will try it a second time. I survived it, lol. When it was time to pay, I was offered a first time discount. My total with my $20 tip came out to $51. I expected to pay $62 plus a tip. So I added to the tip by paying an even $62, allowing Norma to get a larger tip which she deserved. Overall I will go back again. Establishment was clean. a minute ago Horrible customer service! EWC has a 10 min late policy but appears that this place has its own policy in place that they are the only ones aware of. Showed 4 min late and after finally getting the attention of another new girl at the register, I was told that I was more than 5 min late and had to reschedule for another day since that day was all booked. No clue how she knew that since she didn't even bother to look at the computer in front of her. I will never come back to this place!!! I have been coming to this location for a couple years now and have gone through the changes of the "front desk girls". My wax person is Marie and she is just marvelous! She always makes sure to be as gentle as possible and takes wonderful care of me. I get my brows, underarms, Brazilian and butt done. I usually purchase the "wax passes" to save money. Today after my appointment with wonderful Marie I had the utmost pleasure of being checked out by Lucy. In the fours years or so I've been coming here, no one had ever fully explained my passes to me or showed me how many I have left. Lucy did. Not only that, she actually found a discount for me and I now have credit!!!! I was so shocked and amazed and now I feel that I only want to deal with Lucy and Marie. I love Nicole! She is awesome, friendly, fast, and always does a great job with my wax. I'd give 5 stars for her but I'm giving 3 stars for European wax center because I've now had two not so good experiences with a girl who works at the front desk. The first time I thought maybe I just mis-interpreted something but I had another bad experience with her today and so now I know it's not me. She was snappy, acted like I was inconveniencing her, passive aggressive when I couldn't hear her through her mask and asked if I could have a later appointment. Not sure if I have just caught her on two bad days, but even still, you don't bring that into your work place especially when you work in customer service. Your front desk is the face of the company and I hate that I walked in in a great mood and left feeling like I did. If I didn't like Nicole so much I'd rethink coming to this location. read more
