The initial repair person that came clearly had no idea what he was doing, and spent about 20 minutes trying to figure something out before he called in backup. Once the other person came he repeatedly said to the first person " Are you drunk? Now I'm really worried. You need to go home and get some sleep" And then later "Just go home and get rest. I'm worried about you." This was a really strange and uncomfortable situation. The second guy kept trying to show the first things, ask him questions, etc. The first guy literally could not do anything or answer a single question. Ultimately, I was told it was a $500+ repair for an issue, but nothing was shown to me, and after asking to have the quote emailed to me, I never actually got it. Unprofessional from the beginning, and wildly bizarre that they would send someone out who was in such a state. (Not to mention still charging me for the visit).

I found a granite pattern that I liked in August, and I was sent to Carstin Brands in Arthur, IL to pick out a slab. Upon arriving in Authur, I was told that I can't pick out slab there as it was the fabrication warehouse, and I needed to go to Schaumburg to the showroom. An hour drive each way to Arthur resulted in a wasted day. I went to Schaumburg and picked out my slab, no issues there. The slab was installed at the end of August. The installers from Carstin (the fabricator) were professional and timely. Immediately after installation, I noticed several spots that were chipped or filled with a rough, gray putty-like substance. I contacted Lindsay to rectify the issue, and she attempted to facilitate a solution with Carstin. Fast forward to November, the spots still had not been fixed, and I had made several attempts to contact Carstin with no return call- and the answer from Hampton's repeatedly was that "billing has been made aware" so that we would not be responsible for the balance until the spots were corrected. Carstin finally came out to fix the spots after I stated that I would not be recommending Hampton's or Carstin based on this experience. I waited to pay the balance until a new statement was issued, just in case we were charged for the repairs. Sure enough, I just received the statement and we were charged for the repairs!! I have made several attempts to contact Hampton's and stated that we will not pay for the repairs charged, with no return correspondence. This company clearly does not stand by their work, and I will not recommend them to anyone. I love my countertops, but I am very disappointment with this experience.

The technician, Dustin, thoughtfully called to let us know he was running a few minutes late, and he arrived exactly when predicted. He did a thorough inspection and magically got the oven working as it should again, without having to replace any parts. If he had been a less scrupulous and responsible professional, he could have charged us to replace a part unnecessarily. Instead, he left his contact info so we could let him know if the problem returned, with the plan to order the part then, and only then. Even though it was the end of the business day, he stayed longer to be sure the oven maintained its temperature correctly. Throughout, he was friendly and professional, a pleasure to work with. Although the business is located in Bloomington, they do calls in the Champaign-Urbana area for no extra charge. I'm putting BK Appliance Repair into my contacts now in case any other appliance issues come up.

From there he asked me what I was using it for and I told him to school and he asked my price range. He immediately started searching high and low for me for the perfect computer at a reasonable price. He really did go above and beyond to make sure that I would be successful With my laptop. I end up walking out the door with an amazing laptop at an affordable price, and with a smile on my face because it's not every day you encounter someone who really truly loves their job and wants to help you and it made it easier as I had my son in the store with me who is only 10 weeks old, so I try to keep shopping trip short as possible . You can tell Mr. Byrd really cares about providing the best service possible. He was super friendly and very knowledgeable about his products. I'm saving up to buy one of the made in USA vacuums!
