It was the morning of his flight home when his neighbor called to tell him that a large wasp nest had formed right on his front door. A WASP NEST!! He emailed his landlord who said they didn't do that. Ugh! So while he was on his way to the airport, I searched Yelp for pest control companies in Chapel Hill. I called several of the major ones to get a quote. When I did get to talk to an actual person and not a "for new accounts, please press 1" recording, the majors all quoted me a rate that turned out to be 4 times more expensive than Hagen. When I contacted Hagen, who was near the bottom of the list of providers, I got response within 2 minutes. Right away he quoted me a very reasonable rate and he provided same day service. I think he is a "mom and pop" type of business, at least that's what I gathered when I didn't have to struggle to get an answer. He offers to do things I hadn't even thought to ask for (like clean the spider webs off my porch with a broom). He has worked with us to find a solution to meet the code inspector's requirements for termicide use during our home addition construction. (He used a non-Active bait system, rather than chemical spray.) He has really paid attention to our concerns, and is incredibly personable and helpful. When you call Larry, you are not dealing with an inflexible corporation with ridiculously high pricing -- you are working with an autonomous professional who can easily customize treatments and has reasonable rates.
