When we purchased our vehicle from Champion 54 Auto Sales on February 13, 2025, we were strongly encouraged to purchase an extended warranty. We weren't shopping for a warranty company or comparing providers. We purchased the warranty that Champion 54 Auto Sales recommended because we trusted the dealership to stand behind the products they sell. That trust has proven to be misplaced. The cost of the extended warranty was added directly into our bi-weekly car payment, and every payment has been made on time. On July 5, 2026, with approximately 1,100 miles of warranty coverage still remaining, the engine suffered a catastrophic failure through no fault of our own. Following the dealership's instructions, we paid to have the vehicle towed to Champion Ford, their sister dealership, for diagnosis and repair. Champion Ford contacted us for authorization to tear the engine down, explaining that if the failure was determined to be our fault, we would be responsible for an $875 teardown charge. We agreed because we knew we had done nothing to cause this engine failure. After the inspection, Champion Ford determined the failure was not our fault. At that point, Wynn's Extended Care Warranty became involved. Wynn's required additional teardown procedures, eventually requiring the engine to be sent to a machine shop. Champion Ford has reportedly informed Wynn's that the engine damage is catastrophic. Despite that, Wynn's has allegedly refused to authorize a replacement engine and instead wants individual components replaced. When an engine suffers catastrophic internal damage, replacing a handful of parts is not the same as replacing the engine. We have also been told that a mechanic will not warranty an engine that has experienced catastrophic damage and only received partial repairs. Today marks seven weeks without our vehicle. For seven weeks we have continued making every payment on both the vehicle and the extended warranty while receiving no loaner vehicle, nor a rental vehicle. read more

In summary, I advise against buying a *used* car from Champion Ford (although I cannot speak to the quality of their *new* car sales). I drove from Indianapolis, IN (3.5 hrs) to see a "Perfect condition, flawless Toyota Camry at an remarkably low price." After 3 calls to the dealer speaking to different sales reps ([1] Confirming it's availability and price, [2] Asking a rep to physically view the car and confirm it's exterior is flawless with no dings, scratches or scuffs and [3] Reconfirming the vehicle's condition, receiving the reply that "photos were unnecessary because I'm looking at it in daylight and it's a 9.5 out of 10."), I secured financing and drove to Owensboro to finalize the deal. The car's exterior was extremely pitted and stained and in need of fender replacements. The sales rep and his associate stated "we definitely couldn't see that in the light when you called, sorry!" even though I called in mid-afternoon and specifically asked them to walk around the car and describe the quarterpanel, hood, front bumper, etc. No compromises on price were made, but they offered to repaint a fractured front bumper which actually needed a complete replacement. After looking inside the vehicle and finding additional breaks and bends, I decided it wasn't worth buying a used car from an untrustworthy set of sales associates and went to the next town over to spend an extra 15% to buy from an honest, well-referred auto group. read more

"The Champion Experience" My a$$! My son just bought a 2006 Civic from these shysters. It was his first time car buying experience on his own and boy did they capitalize! Due to his credit or lack of, they took his $2000 cash down and recommended a sub prime lender @ 24% APR for the remaining $4159.07. Yes that is right $6159.07 for a 06 Civic with 152,xxx. Within 48 hours engine overheats, he notices coolant under vehicle and realizes the engine block is cracked. They advised that buying a car that old and that many miles he should have expected that. So please do not buy a car from these people. They went as far as taking a picture of him holding a huge sign saying "As Is". This tells me that they knew exactly what they were doing. Questions? We test drove a truck and told them we wanted to buy it but the truck died in the middle of the road while we were test driving it. They had to take it for service, and they told us we were gonna have first dibs on the truck as soon as it came back to the lot. We called multiple time the next few days & we get no return calls We went their on Saturday to find out they sold it to someone else & we got no call to even tell us it was sold. read more

Just bought a 2013 BMW X3 28i Saturday the 17th of February 2018. By Sunday engine was making a loud noise. Took it back on Monday and told dealer about it. Supposedly had a six month warranty. Dealer says too bad they will not fix it. This dealer sucks and will not stand behind cars even with warranty they give you. Now I have to pay for fixing the car. Six months warranty didn't last one day. Stay away from here. You will get screwed. read more

This has got to be the worst car lot I have ever been to. The manager cursed at me when I said I wouldn't take the deal. He called me a liar among other things. When I went back at him all he would say is "you'll go to jail"! He said his other lot was Champion Ford Lincoln in Owensboro. They just lost my business. This lots trucks were rusted, dented and leaking fluids but he said he could sell them to people at market price everyday. This lot is what gives used car lots a bad name! My phone was on record! It's always good to record everything these days! If being called a "bi**h" is what they call professionalism.... then it's sad! I was leaving, the manager is the one that could not keep his filthy mouth shut. I've got the proof and would be glad to show it to the manager/owners other lot (Champion Ford Lincoln)! I was in the market for a used car relatively recently. I decided that a Lincoln LS was the type of car I wanted and found one for sale with this lot. When we took it for a test drive we found that nearly every conceivable light on the dash indicating that something was wrong was lit up. Check engine soon, low oil pressure, engine overheating... Whatever you can think of this had it. Then while we were test driving it it ran out of gas or something like 5 blocks from the dealership. When we were able to get it back by restarting the car and coasting the dealer chewed ua out like it was our fault the car ran out of gas. I pointed out that all of the service lights were on on the car and he said that he would not budge on the price and he would not be fixing the problems because it would cost him money to have them fixed. To put the cherry on top of the whole situation when i told him the price that was clearly labeled on a local circular he scoffed and said it was a misprint and as such no matter what there would be absolutely no wiggle room on the price. Overall a terrible experience and i wouldnt buy anything from this dealership. And i would advise you to do the same. read more

This place is ridiculous, my fiancé and I saw a car we really loved but we could not get the car until after the weekend because we went to go visit my fiancé's six year old daughter in michigan for the last time before he has to go overseas. The dealership told us that it would be no problem to hold the car until monday afternoon and that it would be waiting for us because we were definitely going to buy it.We were on the way to get the car and texted one of the salesman to let him know and he said oh we sold the car two days ago... So we wasted time leaving early that could have been spent with my fiancé's daughter to supposedly get a car that was being held for us. We were not even contacted to be informed that they sold it or else we would have not left michigan so early. Don't trust anything this dealership says. They don't care about anything except making a quick buck even if it includes lying to their customers read more

DO NOT BUY USED CAR FROM CHAMPIONSHIP FORD. They are dishonest. Once they sign the sale ticket you are no one to them. My daughter bought a car and things were noted to be fixed in purchase agreement. After leaving lot, the sales lady would never call her back so she could bring the car in for repairs. Finally the manger at lot on 54 called her back. (1) After taking car in it is returned with a failure of automatic key start not working. They denied they touched this part. (2) Car has to go back in for repair because they did not fix all in one visit. As a matter of fact it went in 5 times in 4 weeks for repairs. She gets it back and the gas light is on so she puts a new gas cap on and now the check engine light is on too. The manager on 54 called her back finally to use foul words. Is it a coincindence they have the car on these occasions and it is returned with problems? On the gas they apparently drove it and added fuel.. yet they didn't touch this?? Part owner Duke will not back their failures and said the car is not their's no more and it is her problem. Is this how you want to be treated after spending thousands on a car? If not shop Don Moore or Steve Jones who gives respect and shows care before and after purchase. read more

I was looking for a Ford Expedition and found this car lot online. I spoke with a salesman who assured me it was in "flawless mint" condition. I drove 2 hours one way to see what turned out to be a broke down clunker. The interior headliner had empty wholes where the vents used to be. It drove horribly and felt very unsafe.. The worst part was the sales guy asked me to BUY GAS for it because it was on EMPTY. Who does that?!? Pay for gas for a test drive!! The battery was dead it had a flat tire too. BEWARE!! I would not even want to give this company one star if possible. I Purchased a used car from them recently and it was by far the worst car-buying experience I have ever had. In 40+ years of car ownership I have never been treated so. From running back and forth between dealerships to the handling of paperwork everything was done totally unprofessionally. And, once the paperwork was finally done it was discovered that I still do not have the actual keys for the vehicle, only a valet key - despite being told that the key would be ordered from Toyota. I was told that the vehicle was a local one owner but Carfax clearly shows that the vehicle was an auction vehicle from New York. I wrote a letter to the owner of this company listing all problems with this purchase but he has not responded. I would NEVER buy anything from this dealership or the sister dealership, Champion Ford, if they paid me. This company should be put out of business for its shady practices. I feel sorry for the nice young guy who works there and told me so many lies during this purchase. He should go to work for a better company!!! read more
