Well... it's a New Year and our CA son has been in town visiting for the holidays Since he is a diehard carnivore, and it seems that the west coast doesn't really do Steak Tips.. there was only one place to go for dinner last night!! Arrived at 4 pm to ensure no waiting. And we sat right down in a comfy booth to order some delicious food This time, we (after ordering drinks) wanted to try their BBQ ribs as an appetizer. They came out quickly and perfectly cooked (medium) We're all accustomed to Houston's famous ribs so this was the high water mark to measure theirs. Nice taste and texture. Seared nicely with sauce on the side. Not "fall off the bone " but great flavor as was expected. We all ordered the steak tips dinner (I had the mixed grill steak and lamb) with their house salad and sides. As always, our favorite waitresses took extra time to ensure we were all happy. It's always a 10 and my son remarked that he's never had them this good and not chewy like most other restaurants. It is their signature dish and once again we were all happy campers and taste buds delighted. Wrapped up what little bit we didn't finish and brought them home for a snack today. They are starting their first Friday of every month with a Prime Rib dinner special. $19.95 with mashed potatoes and gravy and a side until they sell out! Starts at 5 pm sharp so plan accordingly!! Bon appetite!!

Steak tips and onion rings

After hearing for months about Champion's steak tips, I went with my mother on a Saturday around 3 PM for a late lunch. We got there just in time before the place became extremely busy for dinner. We did sit for a bit before our waiter came to our table, I think he was the only one working the entire restaurant. I thought it was interesting that he asked if we needed to see menus, suggesting most people who go to Champions have been going there for years and have their orders memorized. We looked at the menu but both knew what we wanted: steak tips with onion rings. We got our side salads first and it took a bit to get the steak tips, only because they were being grilled fresh. Once they came out, they cut like warm butter and were incredibly tender. For the price, the portion size was good. Their steak marinade is on the sweeter side but it complimented the onion rings perfectly, which were perfectly cut and had the badder clinging to each ring. They do have a lot of other things on the menu, which I'm sure are great, but I cannot imagine going back to Champions without ordering the steak tips every single time. They are just as outstanding as everyone will tell you -- all the reviews and accolades are deserved. If you haven't checked them out, make sure you do.

Great food great drinks! Steak Tips are a must get! Very flavorful. Waited for a little bit to get into the door but it was worth the wait. Service is quick when you get a seat. Price is great for the huge portions you get, steak tips came with a side salad and a side of fries. Can't beat that anywhere! Will definitely be back when we're in the area again.

Tips with hot cherry peppers.

My husband and I have been seeing a lot of social media reviews on this restaurant and we did attempt to go one night but the line was pretty long outside so we kept on driving, but yesterday we decided to attempt it again and this time we succeeded and without a doubt everyone was right.... AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS steak tips! Everything was yummy from the salad to the tips to the onion rings and fries! Kudos to this establishment! And the employees were just as awesome and personable! It is however, a smaller restaurant but worth the wait if you have one! We lucked out and were seated upon entering!

I've been hearing about Champions for a while. I love great steak tips and I have tried all the local popular places that serve tips. While I've enjoyed a few other places, I can honestly say these tips were beyond delicious, and the best I've ever had. You also get a very fair portion. If you're in the area, I highly recommend Champions Pub.

Pork Shanks and Jalapeño Popper appetizers

Ok, I've had some steaks in my life but this...this was epic. Every bite of everything we ordered was outstanding. The service is straight up Boston, personal and frickin friendly. This is my kind of place. Local, neighborhood everybody knows your name joint. A little divy, pub perfect for a Sox or Patriots game day!

The most amazing Steak Tips on the north shore. Whether you have the entree or the sub sandwich, they are both spectacular.

Buffalo Wings and Pork Shanks

Longtime bucket list, first time visit for their much-talked-about steak tips, and first visit was very impressive. Steak tips: Humongous portion, choice of side, and salad included, making it a great value even at $27 and change. Nice char, strong grill flavor, cooked to medium rare as asked, very tender, juicy, and just enough sauce to complement and not overwhelm. Flavorful mix of what seemed like Italian, teriyaki and barbecue to produce a whole greater than (and different from) the sum of its parts. Only downside: a few of the bites had gristle, but just a few. Overall: outstanding. Lived up to the hype. Onion rings: Clam shack version, very thin, very crisp batter. None of that puffy stuff. So right up my alley. Buffalo wings: Tried in an appetizer combo where you can pick any two from the menu. Just enough crispness, but exceptional juiciness and tenderness. Very piquant sauce that brought sourness along with heat. Pork shanks: On the bone, guessing cooked some other way first and then deep fried, served with a small dollop of barbecue sauce on top and a small pool below. Surfaces didn't look promising, but juiciness underneath came through. Moist and tasty throughout, with crispness on top. Not just dependent upon sauce. Service: It's basically a bar, but very very pleasantly surprised by the superb service from my main server Jackie and two others who also tag teamed efficiently. Friendly, enthusiastic ambassadors who exuded what hospitality is all about. All this and parking too. Great steak tips and so much more.

Food Review: Paddy Kelly's - Peabody, MA…read more If you're looking for classic bar food done right, Paddy Kelly's at 154 Washington St, Peabody, MA, is a must-visit. From giant margarita towers to loaded nachos and hearty burgers, this spot delivers on both flavor and value. Whether you're out with friends or family, it's the kind of place where you can kick back, indulge, and enjoy some solid comfort food in a no-frills setting. The Must-Have Dishes Kitchen Sink Nacho Tray ($17.95) - An absolute steal! This massive tray of nachos is loaded with grilled chicken, chili, tomatoes, onions, black olives, and jalapeños, served with salsa and sour cream. Easily feeds four people and is hands-down worth coming back for. 9/10 Buffalo Chicken Sandwich ($14.95) - Crispy buffalo chicken with just the right amount of heat, paired with cool bleu cheese. If you're hunting for a great Buffalo chicken sandwich near Medford or Boston (seriously, where are the good ones?), this is a solid contender. 9/10 Smokehouse Burger ($14.95) - Stacked with BBQ sauce, bacon, an onion ring, and pepper jack cheese, it was a good burger, but honestly, the onion rings stole the show. Cooked perfectly crisp-- which so many places mess up! 7/10 Hit or Miss Steak & Cheese Egg Rolls ($14.95) - Filled with shaved steak and served with buffalo ranch for dipping, these had great flavor but were just way too greasy. 6/10 Pizza - Undercooked, but decent for the price. If you're looking for a great pizza, this isn't the spot. 5/10 Drinks: The Real Star Margarita Tower - Absolutely massive and perfect for sharing. You can't go wrong with this one! Giant Espresso Martinis - If you're a fan of espresso martinis, they go big here--definitely worth trying. Final Verdict If you want a true Boston dive bar experience, this is it. No frills, just solid food and strong drinks at a great price. Come for the drinks and nachos! - Food: 7/10 on the bar food scale. - Affordability: 8/10 - Ambiance: 5/10 (It's a dive bar--if you want a true Boston experience, come here!) - Overall: 7/10

The chicken pieces were really small, and well done, so if you don't like that type of thing you would not like this. But everything else was awesome. One brother got the shrimp and pasta dish that came with a ziti, and when I took a bite, I knew that this was something I'd want to get next time. The other brother got a spicy shrimp appetizer as his meal, and I'm not a fan of spicy, but he said it was very good. Among the many options presented, I chose the Caesar salad. The total for this meal? $49! (!!) The fish was listed on the menu as "market price." I neglected to ask what the price of roughly six ounces of fried white fish was at the "market" but discovered when the check came that it's $34. I'm not a fine-diner, but I'm pretty sure that 34 bucks typically gets you a much nicer dish at a much nicer restaurant. Charging that much for fish and chips is frankly dishonorable...but I guess it's part-and-parcel of the "get while the getting's good" ethic driving the affordability crisis in this country. Next, to the salad: I was charged $5 for the substitution, though the server did not warn me about this upcharge. Personally, I think it's understood when you ask about substitutions, that you are asking about FREE substitutions. If there's an incremental charge to substitute, say, a potato for french fries (I'm sure there is at Dockside, and I'd guess it's larger than it shuld be), it's incumbent on the server to declare it. Otherwise, what makes it a "substitution?" To summarize: nice enough place, greedy owners, OK but ultimately deficient service. Eat here if you want to spend $55 or so on an acceptable dinner that should cost 30 percent less.
