Stopped in while in town. Drinks were very affordable. Absolut and sprite were only $4. Tvs were a little loud. One bartender was working, and she was seen cleaning the bar and dishware. It did take a little bit for a drink because she was solo. I didn't try any food on my visit. read more

At this bar come and drink like a champion today, or any day. Champions is a place for locals in Plainfield. It of course welcomes outsiders too. Just pay up and you'll be okay. There's not much unique here but it has all you need, ways to get drunk and TVs that play sports. Came in while waiting for my sushi order to be finished. It looks like a typical sports bar with all kinds of banners and memorabilia. There's a few regulars here all the time. Often it seems pretty quiet especially in the afternoon. This time was no exception as there were only a few people. Cheap drinks. It's $4.50 for most well cocktails and even cheaper when it's happy hour. There isn't really any food but there's places nearby like pizza. Good place for taking a load off and watching a game. It only gets crowded on weekends for the most part. There's usually a fairly quiet crowd but it also can get rowdy sometimes. read more

This bar was definitely not my cup of tea. I wanted to look for the best bar in the Joliet area and I mean this place is way too rowdy for me. This place is basically an overpriced sports bar full of middle aged men. Staff wasn't too nice either and waiting for drinks and food takes a while. Entering and leaving is a bit confusing as well there's a great chance you'll have a great chance of hitting a few bad potholes that'll mess up your tires. The bar is fairly clean though. I probably wouldn't come back based off my experience. read more

This is the second time there has been an issue with a hot headed, over served regular trying to start a fight. Literally every employee apologized and said "he gets like this all the time." They proceed to kick this guy out but two minutes later he's back in the bar, apparently he's friends with the owner. Sure fire way to drive away new customers. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Went there on a weekday afternoon. Two couples were eating. My wife and I sat down in the bar area and waited and waited but no server. Off to the side were two servers talking but ignored us. My wife yelled and asked if anyone was working...still no one moved. At that point we stood up and walked out. I was here yesterday for the first time. On Tuesdays they have a free poker league where you can accumulate points and at the end of the league get a chance to win a seat at the main event for the World Series of poker in Las Vegas. They have taco Tuesdays and the tacos were only two dollars. They also have two dollar domestic bottles on Tuesdays.I had a great time. The bartender and a server were super nice. They kept coming over and asking if we were good. I never had to look for them. And to top it all off I actually ended up winning the poker game. I had a great time. They had the Bulls the Blackhawks and the Cubs on all at the same time. Great joint. No complaints out of me. read more

This was our first time at the bar. Loved the Hawks decorations. The staff was great, everyone was very nice and constantly checking on us. I called day before to reserve 2 tables by the entertainment and they were very accompanying. Fried mushrooms were delicious. First time going here and it was great! Few family members got together to celebrate my younger brother birthday and the staff treated us unbelievably well. Plus they had a DJ that was very talented and had a wide range of music genres. The girl, my nieces, put in requests for music and the DJ was very gracious by pleasing them. My boyfriend found this place and honestly it was honestly one of the coolest places i've been too. I'm a huge hockey fan so i LOVE all the hockey details. Stopped by for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Wife ordered the fish basket special and I had a simple cheeseburger. Burger was average, nothing special. Fish was scorched... fries were horribly soggy. That indicates issue with temperature of the deep fryer, which goes back to the cook. Tighten that up and maybe I'll be back for the food. Bar is fine..... although high ceilings make it loud. Went there for the Bears game the other day the Bears however we were outstanding. I would go back for them again. Place has a bit of a local spot. I was not, but I didn't feel uncomfortable. Our server was outstanding. My biggest concern about the place is loudness and echoing in the bar area. Decor is very basic yet. Fun and engaging. I will likely stop again. This bar is very fun and friendly, but the manager is a bit cranky and was yelling at the server right in front of the customers. The drink prices are a bit high and the food is not consistent. They should take into consideration that when people go out to the bar the last thing they need to hear is complaining and bitching from the people who are supposed to be providing a positive experience for the patron. She walked past our table three times and never asked to see if we needed anything else. On a past occasion, my friends was hugely over charged and her credit card charged twice. Champions Sports Bar is a great and friendly environment for everybody. ALL the bartenders are great and hold a conversation with you but not only do they hold a conversation with you but they remember who you are and what you drink when you walk in the door. Staff is great. But there is 12 people in the bar and the music is so damn loud you have to scream across the table. Music is not bad music but if it was a good DJ it would have been to a level where it fit the crowd to enjoy and talk. So this is about the third or fourth time we've given this place a chance and the LAST. The issues started right away, as the change in shift (two people) was a complete cluster. The gal leaving who came to our table first, was behind the bar texting for 10 minutes. Then the new girl came, and was nice, but flustered with her duties. Service was SO slow, the people next to us cancelled their order and left very angrily. We waited about 35 minutes for wings and a side salad. She apologized for the long wait, while saying they were backed up and she doesn't usually work Wednesdays. Either way, we were there for an hour and a half for a quick dinner of wings. We had to ask for extra plates for bones and such, and wet naps. She brought paper bowls saying that they didn't have plates and she didn't know why. The limes for our drinks were dry. Wings were mediocre at best, and when the bill came, it did not reflect the special of 50 cent wings. We were charged $7 more! She was apologetic again and adjusted the bill, but this was it. Thumbs down for service and food. Boooo.... wanted to like it since it's close to home! :-( read more

my husband was their and used our debit card to pay the bill. approximately 4 days later the same amount was charged a second time. if you here bring cash and watch your bill. the service is awful. he called to explain to the girl his card was ran twice I think her name was Kelly. she didn't nothing to help; therefore he called the bank and put a stop to the second charge. very shady. wont go here again. be careful! read more
