We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon for lunch after running errands. Upon entering, we waited at the hostess stand for assistance, but no one arrived to seat us. Eventually, someone from behind the bar directed us to seat ourselves. The restaurant was about half full, yet only one server was covering all tables, supported by a manager running food and a busser. The limited staffing noticeably extended our overall dining time. Given that it was a Sunday at a sports bar, additional service support would have been expected. I ordered a margarita, which was served in a 16 oz glass. Unfortunately, it was overwhelmingly sour, tasting primarily of sour mix, and I chose to send it back. It was disappointing, as properly balanced cocktails are an important part of the dining experience. The food was decent but unremarkable. The elite dip was enjoyable; however, the portion size did not feel consistent with the price. Overall, while the experience was not terrible, it did not stand out enough for me to go out of my way to return. read more

McWethy's is a good local sports bar that has strong versions of many favorites-the wings are large, cooked just right and they have a lot of different rubs, sauces. Sandwiches are imaginative, with the Texas Cheesesteak a favorite-blackened chicken. I recently had the pick two, which is a cup of soup (their chili is tasty), salad (homemade dressings-their bleu cheese as great!) and their homemade bbq kettle chips. Typical sports bar. If you've never been there, the entrance of the place is facing north. We got the pigs skins which are pretty good. Had good amount of pulled pork and wasn't overwhelmed by the bbq sauce. Just didn't expect to only have 3 pieces. The mac & cheese has that thick cheese sauce and cavatappi pasta was the perfect type of noodles for this dish. Definitely was no leftovers. The wings are double the size of BWW, so I guess you can say they are jumbo size. But i was expecting bigger. They seem to grill with the sauce on, so it wasn't very saucy. I stumbled on this place a couple years ago when working in Chicago. They had some of the most amazing wings that are unique as they smoke them before they bread them. I forgot the name of the place. Well tonight I was craving wings and picked a place on Yelp and low and behold here we are! Nikki the manager is super nice and recommended this Elote Cheese sauce wings which are unbelievable! I gave this place 2 chances. First, my husband and I wanted to host our rehearsal dinner here since we were getting married at Mistwood Golf Club and absolutely love McWethy's Tavern. We could not reach anyone to discuss this! Manager never responded back to us. We called, emailed, etc. Came in to the restaurant too and the server told us he wasn't there. But of course I got added to the email list. Flash forward a year. Now I'm on their email list and I see an email about a Taylor Swift trivia that is reservation only. I immediately call to make the reservation. Well the person I spoke to never actually wrote down my reservation so we were turned away when we came. They tried to play it off like I mixed something up or called the wrong number. It was so sad. They've burned me twice now so I've got no interest in ever returning. read more

What an awesome team they have here! Nikki and Andre went over and beyond to help our family celebrate my dad's 70th birthday party! They were very accommodating and treated us like family. The side rooms were nicely decorated and remodeled just in time for the Super Bowl and the food was great. We were able to have our guests have access to the golfing range too. The kids enjoyed their time here as well. Wall to Wall TVs made it easy for everyone to watch the game and the sound system helped us hear the game. Thank you and job well done! I went with the community vote and tried them out as they just opened up during this Pandemic!! I got the Pork Quesadilla, Crispy Pickles & the Elotes Wings.... The Community did not LIE they were alllll Amazing.. Let's start Wings - Smokey Grilled wings with the elote mayo, chile mix, and the cojita cheese over top. I was worried but curious at 1st but the juiciness on these Wings !! Will make you slap yo Mama!! OMG! I had juices squirting in my mouth Amazing! Fried Pickles were HUGE and the batter wasn't thick or overpowering the dipping sauce was a nice smokey touch to them as well. The pickle choice wasn't too dilly or sour, perfect blend, Would be even more amazing with some HOT Pickles too... Let talk about these Quesadillas, melty creamy cheesy and the pork was so flavorful;.. I just wished it was pulled pork and not cubed with a lil kick to it.. Went here to meet some friends. Ive only been here once . Years ago when it was Ditka sports dome. We went in. Fairly brightly lit. Sort of pubbish looking. Lots of tables and some booths. Plenty of tvs with the ability to pull in any event. Lucky for us, not much was going on ,and it wasn't busy. The Blackhawks game would be on later and it filled up a bit, but never seemed crowded. Ordered some appetizers, the pigskins (potato) which had a little brisket along with green onion, jalopeno, some cheese and a few other little fixings. It was pretty tasty! Followed up by a few tap beers. They do have a 1/2 way decent selection of craft beers. What I dont like is , that all tap pints are like $7-8. Which is like 1-3 dollars high. But I think its cause thats the McWethys -Mistwood thing. But we had Modelos ,and they were the special for that day.. price was better. After that we had some wings. Excellent wings, lightly breaded. Not overly heavy. The wife and I split a dozen. Sweet chili sriracha. Tasty! I liked the Nashville hot butter wings. Awesome! Dry rubbed with some spice , I really enjoyed them. Service was decent, not too pushy , yet not abandoning. About right. They also had this music bingo thing. Separate company comes in and hands you these bingo cards with song names. They play a song over speaker and you mark it off on your card, if you have that song listed. Middle square is free. If you get 5 in a row then its bingo. The prize is $20 gift card good for future visit at McWethys. Kinda interesting. As I alluded to, the place doesn't look upscale but their prices are. Im sure thats in line with the other facility at the golf course in Romeoville, so be aware of inflated prices. Its still the golf dome, so I thought things should be moderated a bit. Food, drink and service were good. Parkings a little tight, and I dont know anything about the golf dome conditions or amenities. Still, a decent stop , worth trying out. read more

The McQ's staff are awesome! I held a small gathering here for my husband's 40th birthday. Little did I know it would be during the Final Four game when Loyola was playing! Stephanie, Mike and Anthony were totally accommodating and attentive to my every need! The food came out fresh - thanks Chef Alton - and the drinks were spot on! I would say that McQ's is a little known secret for hosting a party. I will DEFINITELY be coming back!!! We ordered the lemon pepper wings, bbq wings and buffalo wings. All excellent, but I think the lemon pepper went the fastest! The French fries and chips were great. The McQ platters provided a nice variety of appetizers. Chef Alton even came out to greet us. He's doing great things with the menu! And if you ask ahead, he can provide some special menu options. Even with my party of about 20pp, Stephanie rocked the floor with her sidekick Mike!!! What a hidden gem of a restaurant. If you are ever on the area I highly recommend stopping in for a bite to eat. All the food is good so, it's to hard to recommend any one dish. If I had to, I would suggest the the Chicago Style Shrimp and Grits. This offers the best of the North and the South. I'm from Texas and always look forward to this one during my travels. We checked this spot for dinner and honestly its not good at all for food. By the way the bbq ribs come with a bbq sauce that's way to strong in whatever type of alcohol their using, so that was a turnoff and then the meat had a unpleasant flavor. This review is for the bar/restaurant area only. There is an OTB area ~ not expecting that. The bar area has plenty of TVs and stools at the bar and high top tables. To me, that is restrictive for some people. We chose to sit outside on the patio area. Wow, this is the area that REALLY needs work. Food was good and they offer a burger of the month ~ nice. However, the patio could be a BIG draw because in the summer months it is covered and located on the east side. We were told the floor has radiant heat and there are side panels that can be lowered to keep out cold/rain. BUT, it is very poorly planned. Tables need some sort of covering, even a plastic tablecloth would help. Maybe some plants? What about some fans to circulate the air? The plain cement walls are just not welcoming. And smoking should not be allowed. Yes, it is outdoors, but still . . . There are 2 TVs, neither was turned on. I am sure they are on when there is a bigger crowd. So, for me, I can only go when I can sit outside because I am not able to sit at a high top. Welcome me to sit and relax. We had our moms 70th birthday here on Saturday Oct 19th. It went perfectly. I can't rave enough about how awesome Nikki was! We had a rough estimate of 30 people and about 45 came. And they didn't care how off I was on the estimate. They were well prepared. The food was amazing. Drinks were awesome. Katrina and Brianna were such good servers. All sports bar; no casual dining; very similar to Fox & Hound. Go there if (1) you want to watch the game, drink and nibble on some bar food, or (2) want a quick bite for lunch. Do not go there if you want a sit-down casual dinner. All the tables are bar-height / counter-height (not dining table height). Lots and lots of TVs to watch all the games. Leave the kids at home (see "Ambiance" below). Food is average. I ordered the BBQ Brisket Sandwich. BBQ sauce is good, but they hardly put any on the sandwich, so the sandwich was dry and bland. My husband order the Half-Slab of Ribs. He enjoyed them and said they tasted very fresh. Both meals came with coleslaw and fries. The coleslaw had an off-taste, very bland. I think they put a bit of mayo on it and forgot the salt, sugar, and vinegar. Fries were cooked thoroughly and crispy. His meal came with a cornbread muffin--standard box mix, very dry. Waitress and service was fine and timely. Ambiance: Noise level was fine. But we had the misfortune of sitting next to a table of 4 men, 2 of which had the nastiest, most foul language. Each sentence out of their mouths contained at least three words of profanity. So this is NOT a family-friendly environment. In 45 minutes time, we heard about 100 curse-words. Food was okay, but I would not go back there solely because I do not enjoy being surrounded by ignorant, immature, angry, 40-something-year-old men constantly spewing curse words because they hate their jobs, hate their lives, can't get a date, blah, blah, blah. read more
