The location off sublett was much more pleasant. They have more supplies in every pet category, and live reptiles, fish and a cat that needs adopting. We came home with a beautiful crested gecko. They made it known that they were there to help service their customers right away. I explained to the employee (Ricky) that's the name on the receipt my current situation about what was happening with my mom's dog Carter. I was thinking it could have been allergies. He told me what products he would use and suggested what he has used on his animals in the past. He listened to my concerns and gave me options right away. Even the lady at the counter gave her suggestions on what could have caused the coughing. I genuinely loved how they were concerned as if it was their animal as well. I was really stressed about what to do with them but could not just have them out there so I took them in. The next day I went to this Petco location and was warmly greeted by a gentleman who happened to be the general manager of this store. He not only helped me pick out exactly what I needed, he directed me to the best food for the mom that was still affordable and he gave me advice on what to do to care for them and more. He helped me find a collar that was on clearance for the mom cat... he didn't just try to make money off of me, he genuinely cared to help me! I have been back to this store a few times since then and he is always so kind, supportive and helpful! Neely was a warm ray of light and the blessing I needed in a stressful situation that I felt lost in. The bald woman with glasses in the fish department immediately started aggressively quizzing/questioning us about betta fish care. We understand that pet owners should be educated and go to good homes but there's a huge difference between being helpful and making customers feel like they're being interrogated. At one point I finally had to tell her, "We're not crazy fish experts we're just looking for a pet." She kept throwing out facts and asking questions, and because I didn't know something like "their stomach is the size of their eyeball," she became even more confrontational. We weren't refusing to care for the fish we simply just didn't know every single "fun fact" that she kept firing off becoming increasingly confrontational. The most upsetting part was that our kids were standing there watching the whole interaction. We were trying to create a happy memory of them getting their first pet, and instead the experience became uncomfortable and stressful from beginning to end. Unfortunately, it didn't even end there because after we left the fish area, she continued hounding us while we were checking out, despite not even being the cashier helping us. By the time we were done, the register was out of receipt paper, but honestly we didn't even care enough to wait for one because we just wanted to get the F out of the store (we won't be returning anyway). We were worried our kids were going to leave upset because of how hostile the interaction had become, thankfully though our kids are thrilled with their new fish and that's what matters most. I just hope management addresses the way this employee interacts with customers. If this is how she treats everyone, she'd probably be better suited for a position that doesn't involve customer interaction because what she was doing was WAY too much and very intense especially for small children. We absolutely support educating new pet owners, but customer service should be respectful and encouraging, not intimidating.

It was here through PetsMart's partnership with House of Meows that I was able to adopt my kitty Pierre. I had just lost my cat of 13 years to diabetes. I had spent all weekend looking for a new companion, and when I called, the lady at House of Meows sold me on Pierre. When I got there, I saw this long haired white kitty with vivid green eyes. He was sweet, cuddly, and playful. I instantly bonded with him. Even his foster mom had a hard time letting him go. This PetsMart is also where my mom adopted her white kitty and orange tabby, who happened to be a brother/sister pair. This PetsMart has the best selection of adoptive pets and a really friendly staff.

We bought a dog from the Arlington location 6/11/2026, we brought her home she wouldn't eat that…read morenight despite not eating since 1:30 that day according to the store. She didn't eat the entire next day either. Took her to the vet where he noted she was underweight, we got her boosters and continued to try and feed her. That night we gave her boiled chicken which she did eat about 1 TBS. Almost immediately threw it up. She continued to throw up the next day and we took her to the ER vet at the advise of the pet store where was purchased and she was diagnosed with Parvo, being underweight (the vet was shocked she checked her weight twice) and being severely dehydrated. (Average number is ~30-40, hers was 98.9) we chose to get her treatment that cost an additional $2,000. We called the store the following morning to let them know so they could decontaminate as well as see what our options were because she came with a 5 day guarantee. They were rude and told us to email Crystal. I did and the only option was to bring her back for a refund or return her and get a new dog. I explained we already sought treatment for her and didn't want to bring her back because we obviously cared for her and getting a new dog from a contaminated store wasn't an option. Crystal stated several times that was the only option and ensured me they would never sell a sick dog and said she was tested prior to being placed in our care but can not give me any documentation proving this. This business is Deceitful and has had other golden retriever puppies that our dog likely came in contact with end up with Parvo as well. They switch dogs store from store creating cross contamination and exposure risk to all their pets. Side note: website states these animals are vet checked but nothing record beyond a printed piece of paper with dates on it. No vaccine lot numbers, no cited vet. NOTHING To their comment about being in a grassy area, we've never had a dog, this is in our own backyard which is a brand new build. I am also attaching a picture of her now that we've gotten her medicine and she can actually keep food down. Scary to see how underweight she was.
