Absolutely beautiful saltwater coral and fish! He was super helpful and was so happy to answer our questions. They truly take care of their reefs.

Ambiance of this fish shop is different from others, but in a good way! Has a very nice variety of both fresh and salt water aquatic life. Definitely should check them out if you're ever in the area!

So, I'm not sure why other people aren't giving this store 5 stars. I have been in the hobby for four years with my husband, and we've been to ALL the aquarium stores in this area. You name it, we've been. AND they buy your frags for above and beyond what other stores offer, if they even offer at all. I have also been to several aquarium stores around the country, as I travel for a living. They all pale in comparison to Ocean Avenue's coral selection. Everyone is very nice, and you don't wait long for service. Plus they make you feel like your getting a deal by lowering the price of a particular coral you have been eyeballing. I bought an elegance, among several other things. I had doubts about purchasing it because they are difficult to keep if you get the wrong type. I purchased it on advice of the owner because this particular specimen fit my criteria perfectly. It's been a month and a half, and the little bugger is going strong! I would recommend this place to everyone! I heard the floor manager of another popular aquarium store that my husband I and used to frequent secretly buys all his corals from Oceans! That says something... The only thing I want to see this store carry is more fish. More Leopard wrasse and other harder to find fish. UPDATE: I went yesterday and the had the wrasse I have been so desperately searching for! AND it was a juvenile! this place. Keep it up guys!

The only fish store I always go to. If your in DFW, you should stop by and check out there variety selections. Best saltwater fish and coral store in town.

Ocean avenue say their open Monday - Sunday from 10a to 8pm, wrong! I drove from the North side of Grand Prairie this location at 11a today only to find the doors locked, very upsetting!

The bad reviewers here seem to either be a lil sensitive or just had bad luck on the particular day…read morethey went. I've been a frequent flier at Texas Aquatics since they opened here. We currently have 13 planted freshwater tanks in our house ranging from nano to 75 gallons, so my husband and I are always looking for something. For those complaining about customer service... this depends on how busy they are. Some of y'all forget these are human beings just like you. If someone calls off, or their internet shuts down, or they just have an overall bad day, of course that's going to affect their service. Calm down, you're buying fish, not survival supplies. And you are buying from people like me who probably prefer animals to other humans....... for clear reasons. And if you buy plants and get snails... lol, welcome to planted tanks. Don't overfeed, and they'll control their own numbers. Get some assassin snails, they're fun to watch hunt. As for dirty tanks or sick fish, that happens-- but I see it minimally here vs other fish stores. Overall, most of the fish I've bought here have been healthy, and most issues I have had were usually my fault. Majority of my interactions with the employees have been pleasant, but I recognize most of them as fellow introverts. They are also very responsive on Facebook, and tbh they're the only reason I really use FB anymore since they use their store page for stock updates.

From the moment we walked in, it was clear that this shop is built on genuine care for animals, deep knowledge, and truly outstanding customer service. Patricia and her team's commitment to the wellbeing of the animals was the absolute highlight of our visit. Her knowledge of the animals and aquatic care is remarkable. It was immediately obvious that each and every animal's welfare is their top priority. She took the time to thoroughly explain the differences between the fish, turtles, dragons (and too many others to name!), their temperaments, tank compatibility, feeding needs, and long-term care -- without rushing us or trying to upsell anything unnecessary. Every answer was thoughtful, honest, and rooted in what was best for the animal. As first-time buyers from this store, we felt completely supported and reassured. Patricia asked great questions about our existing tank setup to ensure the guppies would thrive, not just survive. That level of personalized care is rare and deeply appreciated. You can tell she truly loves what she does and treats every animal as if it were her very own. The store itself reflects that same commitment to quality and compassion. The tank aquariums and habitats were clean, the fish were healthy and active, and the overall environment was calm and well-maintained. This is clearly a business that prioritizes ethical practices over volume sales, which is something you don't see often enough. For any other reviews that have mentioned seeing waste or poop, etc. in an animal's tank, I'd challenge them to please show me an animal's home that doesn't have any! I'd be very concerned that that's an unhealthy animal that needs an examination right away! Since bringing our two guppies home, they have been healthy, vibrant, and full of personality -- a testament to the excellent care they received before we ever walked through the door. We also bought two aquatic plants for our little ones to enjoy and they're thriving just as lovely as the animals! If you are looking for a pet store that combines expert knowledge, exceptional animal welfare standards, and truly personalized customer service, we cannot recommend this family-owned business highly enough. Patricia and her team set the gold standard for what pet care professionals should be. Thank you, Patricia, for such a positive, educational, and memorable experience. We are incredibly grateful and will absolutely be returning -- and recommending this store to everyone we know!
