I will preface this by stating that I am what you would call a sneakerhead. I have an extensive library of shoes in my collection, so I normally would NEVER go to Champs! But today was special. My family and I decided to try to ride the rail from Kapolei to Pearl Ridge. On the way, the bottom of my shoe literally fell right off! So needless to say, I walked well over a mile in a pair of shoes where one side didn't have the entire bottom (sole). As a last resort we went to Champs because even with their state in the recent years (they've seemed more like an outlet store than an actual retailer trying to compete with regular stores), we've managed to find some decent, if not downright fantastic deals. So my family and I walk in (still with the same shoe situation going on with my feet that I explained earlier) hoping that I can buy something... ANYTHING that will remedy the current dilemma. I walk in past 3 employees who are in conversation, without as much as a hello. When I worked at Foot Locker, there were a few rules we lived by. The first of which: GREET EVERYONE! So fail on that, but it is what it is. I'm more concerned about finding some joints to put on my dogs because I'm tired of limping for the day! So I walk to the wall and check out the selection and prices. Selection: fair to poor which is par for the course with Champs. Prices: some good and some decent but either way, I'm ready to spend some money. After waiting and not seeming to have attracted any attention, I ask one of the female workers if they might have anything in a size 14 or 15 (I'm actually a 15, but as such I know that there's little chance they'd have that. It was that dire that I was willing to buy a 14 just to get my feet into something respectable!). She mentioned they don't have much. She continues that they used to have a specific section for large sizes but it no longer exists. She then looks around and asks a coworker for affirmation. I didn't need it, but it's fine. She sought it and got it. Cool. I'm still without shoes! So I tell her, I really just need a pair of shoes and I'm pretty desperate. She just said well.. it'd be easier if you tell me which you might want. So I said, I do Jordan and Nike. Any of those. She then goes to another guest who's looking for a size 10.5 in a green and white AF1. She goes to the back, comes back and asks the wrong person if the size was 10.5. Luckily I saw the whole interaction so I pointed her in the right direction. As I wait, I saw the Jordan Luka shoe. It was cool looking and something I might actually hoop in. So from hoping to spend $30 or less, I was talking myself in to a $120 shoe. Long story short, she never came back and I ended up walking to Vans and buying a pair there. Here's the moral of the story. I get it Champs, the future of this store is uncertain. But even if the inventory they give you makes it look and feel like a graveyard of urban hopes and dreams, it's the people who make more glamorous then it really is. Customer service is THAT HUGE! So, though I'll never go in there ever again, nor will I ever suggest that anyone else does, people still will. And maybe, just maybe the people working there should treat everyone as an important potential sale. Because you never know when a $30 spend, can turn to $100+ or more. And you definitely don't want to be the reason it doesn't. Much like this time. read more

We came here just yesterday to look for running shoes for my 9yr old son who'll be starting track. Coming straight from Kids Footlocker ( terrible customer service, none at all ) this place was like a breath of fresh air! We were politely greeted soon as we entered, asked if we had a specific need then assisted us through our entire purchase WITHOUT any pressure. My son was very picky on what felt and looked best ( even tho it was for track and will get dirty anyway), but the guys there were super patient and helpful. Awesome customer service, and like I said very refreshing. Also good amount of products on sale. Truly 5 stars. read more

This is my go to spot for basketball shorts. Yes I know you can get them anywhere, but for some reason the Champs brand basketball shorts are the best for the price, the waistband is super sturdy and not rinky dink. So my cousin bought clothes from this location on Christmas Eve eve and the associate who rung him up forgot to remove the sensor. I work in retail myself so I understand when you forget or just didn't feel the sensor but anyways, my auntie decided to drive back all the way from Ewa Beach to get the sensor removed. Upon walking in she asked the first available associate if they could remove the sensor. The associate made her stand in line and didn't even apologize for their mistake. Once she got to the register the cashier was looking at the receipt and item to match and was humming as if there was all the time in the world. Still no apology for their mistake. My husband has served in the military for 13 years, thirteen YEARS! Within the last 3 months, he has gone from active duty to guard. We went to this stupid store and spent almost $200 and when my husband asked if they had military discount they took his ID, scanned it, then told him he wasn't eligible for any military discount bc he's not active duty. We will never go there again. Besides that, the service was HORRIBLE! We stood there for over 20 mins just trying to get someone to acknowledge us so that we could have someone pull 2 pair of shoes for us for my daughter. Once they did acknowledge us, it was as though we were inconveniencing them to have them help us and it was loud in there making it difficult to communicate with the sales associate. read more

We came here on a Saturday night looking for shoes and was surprised to find that they had a nice selection of Converse sneakers. We picked one and seeing that nobody was around, we sat down and waited. And waited. Several employees walked past and glanced at us but didn't bother to help. No "Has anyone helped you guys out yet?" or "Do you need any help?" Finally one guy asked us but he looked really out of it as if he didn't want to be there. We asked him for 2 sizes and he said "Ok", walked off with the shoe, and then THREW it to another employee to have HIM take care of it. I noticed that other guy then put the shoe back on the rack and went into the storage room. We thought he will take care of it so we waited. After 10 minutes, he came back out with nothing and then proceeded to the cashier place to talk story and trying to act "cool" without even noticing that we had asked for the shoe. Then we just walked out. If you're looking for any customer service, it cannot be found here. The "workers" seem to be there for show and not to help you. Just entering this shop I already knew what was going to happen, there were two employees just standing over a box and looking at their phones, I smiled at them to wait to be greater but was shut down with a full on snob look. They have a wide array of shoes and apparel for both men and women and also kids. I went in today around 1pm with my dad to pick up a new pair of kicks. We looked around and saw some we liked. We waited for almost 10 minutes just staring at the shoe and looking around for any employees to help us..no one was attentive to us. There was literally one employee just observing other people and touching one particular shoe as of he was being productive. We left and I knew from this experience I must write a yelp review. This Champs was actually really great. The people were friendly and the selection of shoes/attire was great. Remember, I have been out of the country for 14 months so what might seem great to me could be out of style! LOL! In any case my friend, Kellie, was trying to get me some new chucks because the pair I had was old (had them for 2 years) and she wanted to, "burn them". So after looking through their huge selection of chucks I found a few pairs I liked. Apparently, my size 8 in guys normal size was too big on my foot all of a sudden! Glad they ended up having a size 7 which fit perfectly! The staff was nice and patient as I kept saying different sizes, left the store to find a cheaper place, and then came back and went through the shoes all over again. I know, I know....I was being difficult. But I love my chucks and did not want to get rid of them for a mediocre shoe. They had to be perfect. Found the perfect ones there! What happend to my old shoes? My friend put them in a trash bag in the parking lot of the mall and made me throw them in the trash. RIP my black plain chucks! I won't waste my time and money at this location. Terrible service and lazy young workers here. I went in to buy a new pair of walking shoes. None of the 3 workers at the entrance greeted me as I walked in, they were too busy talking amongst themselves. This is one of Champs locations that I visit the most since it is close to home in Pearlridge Shopping Center, downtown side. It is conveniently located right across form the Seattle's Best Coffee stand and Gamestop. I think this location might be one of the bigger ones on the island. Their selection of apparel, shoes, and other sports stuff is out and about throughout the store. I've been going here for years taking advantage of their BOGO (Buy one, Get one) deals and sales; getting various shirts, shorts, shoes, hats, sneaker cleaners, and many more. The staff and customer service is good. I get greeted most of the time by one of the staff workers. I am not sure if it is worth to get the Champs membership card because before I've gotten email deals via email but those emails stopped. I don't really know how much points get accumulated into the card but it feels that I am not really getting out of it with every purchase that I make. You can also use the card at other Champs and footlocker locations. The prices for the items are not that bad. Sometimes they have a clearance rack for items and another one for shoes. read more

I like going to Champs because they sometimes have the shoes that I'm looking for and I really like their VIP Program. My bf and I always shop here when we get coupons or gift cards. This particular location doesn't have a lot of selection for women though so I hardly get anything from here. My bf really likes the clothes they have though. Can't beat the t-shirt deals and they're good quality too. The workers are friendly and nice but they sometimes don't always check with customers to see if they need help. I'm a person to notice things and on one occasion I saw a couple with the shoe they wanted in the guy's hand and he stood there and waited for a worker to come out and help him but no one ever did. I'd say he waited about 10 min then walked out. I later saw him with a Foot Locker bag walking around the mall. read more

Former employee: First off, anybody gets hired to work there. Second, they don't make time to train you properly. I've worked there for 10 months before quitting due to lack of leadership. They hire anybody so they can stick them in the front of the store to watch all the customer walk in and out. I'm so happy out of that company it's crazy. I bought a shirt and hoodie 4items then I found a security sensor that was still on the hoodie after I got home, so I went back to store to take sensor off, one associate told me to wait for cashier to open. Ok I waited then finally cashier was open, she never apologized to me but she was humming while checking receipt and item is correct; basically she was checking to make sure it wasn't a stolen item, I was soooo pissed!!! So I told her no one apologize to me at least?????? Bad experience tonight. Came with mom who was on a wheelchair. Store was busy, waited a bit, decided to go outside since the 2 bench were occupied, so we left. After a while, went back and ladies section was clear. Staff saw us and motioned he'll be back. So, we waited, saw him talking to another staff who,was,folding some shirts, he walked away and glanced at us and went the other way and attended to another customer that just walked in.
