Sad to say my experience was not good. I was really looking forward to this place as it has amazing reviews! In all honesty, everyone was very nice, but strictly talking about the massage...worst one I have ever had. I made an appointment for a 1.5 hr deep tissue massage, and I certainly did not receive a deep tissue massage. I specifically asked to have just my back and legs worked on, but those were the areas that received the least attention. A lot of light pinching motions and sweeping of hands back and forth on my body, like she was tickling me (sorry, I dont know how else to describe it). Literally, spent maybe 10 mins of doing that on my back, then she moved on. Finally, after a half hour, I spoke up and had to keep asking for more pressure. And when I did ask for more pressure, she stepped on me and it was too hard and painful, (no middle ground, apparently) especially because she would step on parts that were not "fleshy" like near the bottom of my legs, near my ankles. When I told her to please stop, I dont think she understood, so I tried to bear the pain until she was through. I personally don't care for "stretching" as I can stretch myself and that is mostly what my 1.5 hr massage consisted of. How is a deep tissue massage mostly stretching? I wanted to leave after the first 45 minutes, but out of respect for the masseuse, I didnt. I know I am payng for a service and I should get what I pay for, but I didnt want to hurt the masseuse's feelings, because I do believe she tried her best. I am not sure if it is a lack of communication or what...but I even informed the receptionist prior to my massage of exactly what I wanted--I asked her to please let my masseuse know --- I literally JUST want my back and legs worked on with a deep tissue massage. But then this woman prepares me for my massage and goes to town on my overly tense and tight body. Her feet, hands, arms and legs are strong. She has me suppressing the pain because it feels so good and I don't want her to stop using her strength on what I know are the most tight muscles I've had in months. Left this place wanting to cry. After a different negative experience at the North Hollywood location I still loved the massages and wanted to try to see if this location was better. I was so happy to finally take some time for myself and get a massage I would enjoy. I told the woman at the front desk what I wanted, sadly, even though the massage therapist did a good job she did not give me a Thai massage. This is my second time here and this has by far been the best massage I've ever had. Mary was amazing and really sweet. I got a deep tissue massage with hot stones this time. I love how they use their entire body for the massage. Standing on my back felt amazing and it relieved a lot of tension I had built up. She utilized every single minute of my hour and I couldn't be more pleased. Now I see some reviews about tips... At first I thought it was a bit much to expect a certain tip amount, but let's all keep this in mind. When you're provided a service that you're pleased with, it's only right to tip. These massage therapists don't work independently and probably don't get much of a cut per massage, so they probably really rely on tips just like a server or bartender would. Paying $45 for a full hour, thorough massage is outstanding. I personally paid a $15 tip because I was very happy with my service. Mary didn't seem to expect one but was rather happy when I tipped her and she even gave me a hug! So let's not be inconsiderate about tipping please. I got 90 mins massage yesterday. It wasn't good at all. Not even an hour pass by, my masseuse stops massaging constantly in between massages. Not sure if she was taking naps in between but I literally woke up coz I noticed she stops massaging. I even asked her if she was okay. The massage wasn't relaxing at all. She told me that next time I should just get an hour massage coz 90 mins is too long. Not coming back here. Nicely prepared massage rooms which contain the bars on the ceilings for those that choose to get that massages. i was asked if this was my first visit there and given a quick low down of how to prepare for the session. I had a great experience with my swedish massage with May. She could feel exactly where i had the knots in my back and tended to them with expert hands. I felt such relief after she worked though my muscles. She's very professional and moves expertly around the body while trying to to disturb the client. I appreciate the care she took with me. Told me if I can wait like 15mins which I don't mind coz I didn't make an appointment. Offered me water even asked me if I want it cold or room temperature. I was asked to go in the time he told me to wait for which is a plus points. My masseuse name is Kathy. She was very gentle but firm. I'm a 4'11" 98lbs woman so she was very gentle but firm. Cracked my back felt really good. Hits the perfect spot on my shoulders and neck. Love the smell of the oil they used! The room was very clean and very relaxing. They offer couples massage and you'll have the same room together but the price will be the same per person no package deal. On Nov 9 2023 I took my daughter to get a massage, when the lady saw my daughter she said to her " Your fat, your a big girl" my daughter was stunned that she said that to her but didn't say anything. My daughter also has been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and a Mild intellectual disability. As the lady continued to do the massage she continued to say mean and hurtful things like asking my daughter " Do you have kids?" She said " If you have kids maybe you'll lose weight" She continued to tell her what she needs to be eating and what not to eat. She asked my daughter to turn over on her back and started laughing out loud at her. My daughter is 289lbs and is preparing for weight loss surgery. She's a beautiful black young adult and should be treated like any other paying customer. When my daughter came to the car and told me I immediately went in and demanded to speak to this evil witch and told her some words and all she could say was "!Im sorry " I demanded a full refund which was given but after asking that the manager call me I've yet to receive a call. She should be fired immediately. I will be contacting the news channel also. We will never go back to this place again read more

My husband and I were looking for a local spot to get our bi-weekly massages instead of making the trek to our usual spot in West Hollywood (from Van Nuys). I decided to take us to Chan Thai for a couple massage to try it out since it has raving Yelp reviews. Holy smokes...was I WRONG! When we arrived, the lady at the receptionist desk tried to brush off our requested couples room they weren't able to accommodate to as she "forgot" to call us and let us know it wasn't available at the requested time. We brushed it off and went with the separate rooms. My masseuse used her feet 90% of the time which is not my choice of technique and was not asked if I wanted this. I personally would prefer her to use her hands and not her feet and oil all over my body. The nail in the coffin was the sound of a dog barking...yes, I said a dog barking in the hallway about 30 minutes into my massage which completely threw off my relaxation! I have NEVER in my history of getting massages, ever heard a dog barking in the facility... not just once, but twice right outside my room. WHY is there a dog in there in the first place? How is that okay? I just know we will not be back! This place is Mickey Mouse and not serious...even if the massages are $50. Spend $15 more and go somewhere with class. read more

Employees come and go, sad when you find your favorite but shouldn't stop there. Everywhere now is expensive but this is called self care. They will not do it hard massage if you never asked. This place is quiet and very clean. You'll really go out and have just enough energy to get home safely and knock out. In my experience, I'd always asked for SUE or JOY, amazing ladies with so much unique techniques. Please do say how you want it directly and they will do it. Never gone wrong with them. They will target the areas you specifically asked for, even grant an alternative special request to get more time on different areas you'd prefer. For the tipping process, this job is not easy and very tiring for them too. We wouldn't be able to get massages if none ever worked as one. When I walked in, I automatically felt so relaxed, the atmosphere there is phenomenal. The receptionist which speaks perfect English was warm and helpful. The room was decorated nicely. I automatically melted into the massage table. My masseuse Sing, is a tiny little thing but don't let that fool you. She has very powerful hands. After my hour massage I felt as if I was walking on clouds. I felt wonderful. My sciatica was hurting just a tad, not as bad as before I walked in, and I noticed that my knees weren't hurting at all!!! I have been here once before about 6-7 months ago and it was good but yesterday my husband had really bad back pain to the point that he could not drive and was walking totally bent from the waist. I drove him there for a massage with Jenny. When he walked out of the massage room he was walking straight. He is not pain free but on a scale of 1-10, he walked in at a 8 or 9 and came out at 4. That is amazing for an hour massage. The massage was hard and painful in itself but the results were awesome.
