DO NOT GO HERE! ( now changed name to Spa Space Story Thai Massage) Imagine feeling achy and sore, only to not only feel completely stressed out during your massage (because you cannot communicate with your therapist at all), but to leave even more stressed out and upset than when you arrived. I called to schedule a massage, and the gentleman asked if I wanted a 60-minute or 90-minute massage. I confirmed that I wanted a 90-minute massage. Once I arrived and went into the room, I tried to explain to the therapist that I needed the headrest adjusted and a pillow placed under my legs. My therapist then had to ask the gentleman at the front to come into the room to adjust the headrest and complete the setup that should've already been done. During the massage, I asked several times for adjustments or for her to focus on specific areas, and she could not understand me. Even at the beginning of the massage, I asked if she could use oil instead of lotion because it was pulling out my skin too much, and when she did not understand me, I had to lift my head up and pick it up out of her basket to show her and ask her to use the oil. I'm sorry, but that should not have happened. Then, once I turned over, we went back and forth for way too long because I simply wanted a pillow under my head. At this point, I was so stressed out and just hoping the massage would get better... It did not. Also, the notes I had written on the intake form before the massage were completely ignored. Not only was this massage stressful, it was a 60-MINUTE massage, not the 90-minute massage I booked!!! When I came to the front and looked at the time on my phone, I asked the girl at the front (different from the guy I initially spoke with) why my massage was cut short. She told me it was only scheduled for 60 minutes. All she did was apologize and say she would only charge me for 60 minutes. She could see how frustrated and upset I was and didn't offer to do anything else other than charge me. I'm so disappointed and normally do not post negative reviews, but this place is TERRIBLE!!! Holy shit. It's been a while since I've experienced racism of this level. Typically, it's covert. Not today! I was actually headed to Cheesemongers (next door), and they were closed. It's my day off, and I've been in need of a foot massage and some lower back attention. I stopped outside of this place at the display window to read the menu from the folding sign they had inside. There was an employee sitting at the desk who saw me, then said something to another employee who came out from behind the door that led to the massage rooms. The woman then walked right toward me, looking right at me, then went to the door and I heard a loud click. I called my bff right after they clicked the door, and I told her "I think this message place just locked the door when they saw me... but I don't want to assume. Maybe she UNLOCKED it. I'm going to try the door" my bestie was IRATE. She's literally my sister and she WASN'T HAVING IT! I went to try the door... and it was locked. Both employees stood behind the desk smirking and having a giggle.... I stood there.. low key shocked... then just walked away. My sis was LIVID. She called them and they admitted to seeing me but they told her "They didn't know what I wanted" so they locked the door.... then got flustered when she questioned them further. I went for a massage for the second time. The first time I was made to wait 45 minutes for my scheduled appointment. This time everything was on time and although the massage therapist was good it was not as good as the first therapist I had previously. My problem came at the end when I paid. I checked the internet about tipping. The range of 15-20% is normal. I gave the therapist 18% which considering it was not as good as the previous massage. I was told by her that " I should find someone else in the future as she could not work for that tip". I did not know they only get paid by tips. That is not my fault. She did a great job. The massage was quite soothing. She walked on my back and used her feet to dig into the lower body. She eventually used her hands to massage my back and upper body with warm oil. I'd say it was definitely worth the money. Giving it four instead of five stars simply because i was there on a super hot day and there was no cooling fan in the massage room.
