I do not understand how this place has all 5 stars. I want to start by stating that I am comfortable with my body so the fact I was almost completely uncovered is not my concern. It's the fact she walked on me with her bare feet directly without using a sheet. Chan is pretty much an awesome nuts and bolts thai massage place with a few whistles like hot stones. Some of the ladies are a bit soft for my taste, but Kim is a great one. She's accurate and intuitive and is very mindful in how much pain you can take. I highly recommend her if you can get her. For $40/hr, that's a steal. The spa is immaculately clean. The floor is so shiny... you can eat off it. The rooms are spacious with private doors, unlike the curtain dividers that most thai massage places use. Surprised this place was so close to my house with great reviews so he decided to give it a try the massages were so so seeing that we regularly get massages . But the service I must say was AWFUL . I'd like to remind people that tipping is an optional thing not only did we give the masseuses 18% tip but the ladies had the nerve to DEMAND a 22% tip ..... litterally stopped us at the door and had us pull out more cash to give. I'm an amazing tipper and a even more LOYAL customer , with reputation in the beauty industry , all my clients listen to my recommendations . And this place for one will NOT be mentioned . Don't burn Bridges for a little extra change . You lost a good customer by being greedy . If you advertise for $45 dollars but expect $55 dollars .... then you may change your pricing , don't be rude to the public . You never know who's watching . read more

the massage was fine but there were signs everywhere that "their customers were asking so they wanted to let us know a 33% tip (dollar amt listed for each service) would be great." I wasn't asking bc I always tip 20% unless a massage is awful or life changing and the lady at the desk accosted us on the way out and a member of our group caved and paid the difference. she was hostile and acted as if we hadn't paid for the actual massage fee. if they need to charge $120 for a 90 min massage, I have zero issue with that, but don't harass customers and demand a 33% tip. I assume this is them trying to minimize taxes/reported income but leave me out of it. if it were about fair wages, they would just increase prices and pass it along to employees. I don't even know if their employees are getting all of the astronomical mandatory tip. terrible experience, won't be back. read more

First time back here today after a couple of years. The first time I went here it was a very pleasant and relaxing experience. Today, not so much. I booked the massage in advance but my error was not specifying which massage I wanted. No one asked me either. The lady doing my massage just started massaging and half way thru told me she was giving me a deep tissue massage. I just said ok. I didn't understand why she stopped to tell me that half way thru, until I was paying for the massage at the end. They charged me extra for deep tissue for some reason. I'm not one to complain so I just paid it but it was strange to me that it is the same price as the other types of massages on the price list. I got a 90 minute massage and could not relax at all the entire time. She walked on my entire body most of the time and it wasn't the most comfortable experience. If I do return I'll just be specific about which massage I want. The place is clean and nice though. But you can hear people talking in the halls during your massage. read more

Me and my friend both felt our masseuse were not paying attention to our problem areas, and when we said we wanted medium strength, it was still so soft. I mean, if we're gonna pay $40+ tip, that is just not worth it. The receptionist was nice enough to ask how our massage went, and I was honest, I told her it was bad, i still have pain where I have knots on my shoulders, same with my friend, and this is the second time we got bad service. It is because i have been going consistently and have never had the massage therapist come after me when done. i left her a $12 tip which was everything i had on me at the time. I thought this was a decent tip , but Ta stood there when i came out of restroom and was leaving and said why, i looked at her and said that is for you thank you, which she replied its not enough? I have been to Chan Thai massage four time. On the most recent visit, I splurged and had a two hour massage. I don't like the 30/60 minute massages because it takes me a long time to actually relax. The following day, I was experiencing significant pain in my right shoulder, just under the shoulder blade area. I made an appointment with my chiropractor and called Norma at Chan Thai. I explained what I was experiencing and she told me to come right in. Luckily, I was in the area. Norma advised me that what I was experiencing was muscular, and likely related to the massage (in a good way). She had the same masseuse work on my should for almost 30 minutes, and apply ample Tiger Balm. I left, still in some pain, and Norma told me I should cancel the chiropractor appointment since this was note bone/back related. I followed her instructions. The next morning, there was some slight soreness, but by that afternoon I felt amazing with no pain at all! Only a top-tier, experienced, and professional place would stand behind their service as well as ensure customer satisfaction even if something isn't perfect. I went here today for an hour massage and had Nora. She was amazing!! I told her it was only my second massage ever and she made me feel really comfortable and informed me of what she was doing and that some parts might hurt, but was a good thing. I told her I waitress and had a lot of knots in my shoulders from carrying heavy trays. Since she was a former waitress, she knew exactly what I needed. She even told me of some stretches that would help on the day to day to help prevent the knots. I am very happy with my experience and will definitely be back! I took my husband here to get a massage from Jenny. We got a couples massage. They started 20 minutes late and shorted us about ten minutes of our massage time. He later told me that she left the room three times, and at the very end of his massage, she threw his legs aggressively over his head, first both legs, then one leg at a time, very fast, no warning, no easing him in to the stretch. He felt like she tore a ligament in his low back. The next day he can hardly move. Now three days later, his back is still in so much pain. Then the lady who gave me my massage seemed to be new. She didn't do the same things to my left side as the right side. Her pressure was too light, and she was chatty with Jenny. We are completely disappointed. All we wanted was a quiet massage to help our bodies relax and feel better and this definitely didn't happen. Also they have raised their prices, it's now $45 per hour. Man this place is close to the corner when you turn to park in the back. But once you ignore that the service was incredible. Best option is to book your appointment before walking in. And the prices for the massage can't be beat. $60 for 90 mins of Thai and combination massage I'll take that any day of the week. I like my massage extra firm but I left the place feeling loose.
