So I have been to Chandos since 2018, at the garden location. So I was pretty excited to visit Chandos again today. However, my excitement was met with utter disappointment today. We ordered 3 items, Quesabirria tacos, Chicken Flutas, and the Loaded Fries. The tacos and flutas tasted very bland and lacked any real flavor. I'm not sure what happened but it seemed like the was not seasoned at all. The only thing that tasted good was the loaded fries. I can honey say it'll probably another 7 years before I return to Chandos and that sucks. The service was good and the restaurant was clean for the most part. read more

Stopped by this local Chando's on Pleasant Grove late Wednesday afternoon during their weekday 3-6 PM Happy Hour. Fantastic service, great food, generous servings, and very nice employees working both at the cashier's position and in food preparation. We ordered fish tacos, adobada tacos, a burrito, and chicken flautas, along with drinks. Each of the tacos were stuffed with tasty ingredients, the burrito was easily enough for two meals, and the flautas was excellent. Fresh ingredients, generous amounts of guacamole, perfectly seasoned meats, and simply delicious Mexican food. Plenty of chips with the meal, too. Chando's has a self-serve salsa bar with numerous options to flavor the food the way you want plus very fresh Pico de Gallo to top it all off. I don't know how the meal could have been any better. The food was ready in a bit over five minutes once the order was placed and all items were made exactly as requested. Chando's always has a daily special along with weekday Happy Hour discounts allowing diners to enjoy very high quality food at great prices if you take advantage of these deals. A very enjoyable and filling early dinner with excellently prepared Mexican food that tasted truly authentic. Thanks for the care in preparation and quality of the ingredients. Chando's The best thing in the menu ( to me) is the quesadilla . The barrilla is not so good. Had an after taste I can't explain. The street tacos have too much gristle . Wife likes the chicken nachos . Dropped review because the rest is not so good here. Prices high like everywhere else. Here's the rub; Order at the counter , grab your own drink , pick up your own food , bus your own table....... Employees start at $20 an hour and when you do all the work..... they ask for a tip. For what? You take my order . Thanks! I work a hell of a lot harder at my job and tips are not in the conversation. I do not roll my eyes ( like you did) when there is no tip. First time at this location, and only my second or third time ever at Chando's. So, I let the lady behind me order while I contemplated the menu (I can be very indecisive sometimes). Finally, I decided to order the $5 carne asada fries, which are crispy fries topped with nacho cheese, cilantro, onion, guacamole, sour cream, house made salsa, and pico de gallo. The fries were very heavily seasoned, but good. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought they had used frozen bags of Arby's fries, because they actually tasted a lot like that. Between the nacho cheese, the salsa, and the pico de gallo, the nachos had a little kick, which was perfect. I really enjoyed these, and also appreciated that they offer a small size of super nachos. The guacamole was great, and the red and green salsas that I tried on the side were also delicious. All of the staff were really nice, and everything looked clean, although, the ambiance was a little lackluster, and the decor could use some refreshing, in my opinion. We originally wanted to order buche and cabeza but was told they no longer sell it due to it not being poplular enough. The Mulitas were undercooked! Like let's be real here.. how can you undercook tortilla?! The tortilla was raw, wet and falling apart. Hardly any cheese and the lengua had no flavor at all. We were the only ones at the restaurant. Chandos at this location has been my daughter's favorite place to eat for years. We went today and found a few things have changed. First the prices have gone up significantly. For three people, which included 3 tacos, 2 burrito bowls and two drinks came to $40. Next, I have to congratulate the two employees that showed up. There were only 2 and I know this is horrible timing due to covid. They were doing their best to take orders and make food. Nearly an impossible task. I would probably not give three stars under different circumstances but I have to say I am grateful they are even trying to stay open. They did a large and much needed expansion prior and during covid that has not been used properly due to the pandemic. We usually come on Tuesdays where they have $2.50 tacos for some of the tacos. Nothing fancy protein, onions, cilantro and radish. Of course the double tortilla. You can add salsa which is located in the salsa bar. They also have limes and more radish if you're into that. They used to charge tortilla chips but it's free now. You choose your selection from the menu posted on the wall behind the order counter, pay for your order, and in return, you'll receive a receipt with your name on it. The order will be handed to the kitchen, and when your order is ready, one of the kitchen staff will call your name, and to pick up your window at the pick-up window, at the kitchen. All ingredients were perfectly cooked, flavorful, delicious, and not at all spicy... dimply delicious! The two soft corn tortillas held the taco together perfectly and gave each taco a rustic, "earthy" taste. The major difference I noticed between "street tacos" in Tijuana and at Chando's was the guacamole, as during my trips to northern Mexico, including Tijuana, Mexicali and Nogales, the guacamole is runny, as it's mixed with crema. However, thick guacamole is served, but it's not as common on the street as the runny variety. The tacos are amazingly delicious, and TOTALLY authentic, Tijuana "street tacos." For $10.00 and a little bit of change - to cover state sales tax - how can you pass by three amazing tacos and a draft, Mexican beer? Friends... we're talkin' FIVE STAR DINING! I heard great reviews about this place and had this delivered to my house. I was greatly disappointed with the quality and presentation of my food. My food was soggy and cold. Not even lukewarm so this was sitting out for a while. My fish and shrimp taco was just plain NASTY. The pieces were so small and just breading. While we love the food, I would not recommend ordering their catering/family packs for pick up. We ordered a family pack with extra meat for pick up at 5pm two days in advance. We were on a tight schedule so when I arrived at 5pm to pick up my order, they hadn't even started preparing it. They said it just then showed on their screen. Unfortunately I couldn't wait for them to prepare the food and so I had to cancel my order which greatly impacted our family event. Who orders birrira tacos without consommé? I never have... I first got turned into Chando's birrira tacos over a year ago. Before knowing they had those, I had a Chando's craving fir their carnitas tacos. When I left, the meat had been so dry, it was so unlike the food I had ever gotten here. So I had gone back and when I saw on there TV screen above the register they offered birrira tacos, they politely offered to exchanged my dried up carnitas tacos for birrira tacos with cosommé (the broth made from boiling the meat.) About twice a month, I come here to pick up an order. Yesterday's visit was different. The girl at the counter looked irritated taking two separate orders(bc my friend & I were going dutch). She was not polite at all. I ordered my birrira tacos and carnitas for my daughter. My friend, who frequents as much as I do or more, just got the birrira tacos. When I opted to have the receipt texted to me, she tried taking the iPad back before I could type in my number to receive my receipt.. I tipped 20%, btw. As my friend & I received our order, we checked it over and saw we were missing the cosommé. I went back & mentioned we were both missing it from our orders and they said it comes separately. For an extra $3ish dollars each. I've never had this issue before, and to have to pay an extra $3ish for the meats bath water. They did say this time they would do it, but to be sure to ask for it next time. I said ok, but for some reason every person working there felt like they had to tell my friend & I that we need to let them know next time... and I literally mean EVERY PERSON. Their tacos are freshly made corn tortillas out of stoneground corn with your choice of premium meats or vegetarian options. Absolutely delicious! We ordered the food and everything came out packaged clean and perfectly in a timely manner. Shoutout to the chefs and the staff as a whole, as everyone was working diligently and respectfully even during their dinner rush. I've been frequenting the Roseville area quite often and this place has been on my radar for about a month or so, I've seen rave reviews on Yelp and even some on Youtube videos. I finally got the chance to stop by and check it out while there. The restaurant is spacious with lots of seating and I came at the right time because there weren't too many people there. Having looked over the menu before I got there I had a clue of a couple items that I wanted to try but still browsed over the menu once more to see if anything else caught my eye. I ended up ordering the Tacos de Papa, Quesataco and Elote. I wanted to make sure that I ordered a few things so that I can give a proper review and see if I really liked it. I wanted to order chips and salsa as well but they charge extra for both, I thought it would have been complimentary like at most Mexican restaurants. After ordering I went to find a table and here's where I start taking away stars, many of the tables were filthy and gross, even some of the chairs were dirty too. The food didn't take too long, I maybe waited between 7-10 minutes. Everything looked amazing and I was ready to dig in that is until one of the employees came to the tables that were pushed right next to mine and he proceeded to spray some type of cleaning spray all over the tables almost spraying my food. Not good. The Tacos de Papa was good but the potato flavor was lacking, I've had potato flautas where you could really taste the potato but with these tacos it was hard but that could have been from all of the toppings. They were topped with lettuce, sour cream, cheese and salsa. The Quesataco (carne asada) was really good, it's basically a taco with a fried cheese shell. Although it was oily and a bit salty I really like it and would happily get it again. Last I had the Elote which was amazing, the corn was cooked to perfection and had just the right amount of mayo, cheese and chile. Overall the food is good but some items are better than others and they really should try to keep the tables cleaned. Also make the chips and salsa free. I think I will try the original location in Sacramento next time. read more

I called and made a over a $100 order of quesobirra, tacos and carne asada fries and a kids meal. The quesobirra didn't have the sauce to dip, the tortillas weren't cooked on the grill (bland and cold) and didn't even have my kids meal. I had to drive back to pick that meal up again. I realized the sauce to dip for quesobirra tacos wasn't there until I got home. If you get customers who make over $100 order you need to double check it's correct. This isn't the first time that this happened to me here. I gave two stars because the food was not totally bad but, the service sucks. I even asked if everything is there and for them to confirm yes and me to double check. It's inconvenient and annoying. read more

I told the person taking my order that I have a mild allergy to the Capsaicin in Peppers so I asked if there was anything "HOT" in the Three things I ordered (2 Different Kind of Tacos and the Small Nachos)... I was told yes on one of the Tacos so I ordered the Sauce on the Side and was told no on the Nachos... The Taco came with the Sauce inside so I had them remake it.. They made me wait until they finished someone else's order. Meanwhile my other food is getting cold. When I finally received my second taco I went back to eat my other cold food. I realized the Nachos Cheese sauce was extremely Spicy/hot too.. By this time I was so frustrated and had a sore throat from consuming the couple of "hot" bites of food, I just wanted to leave. We went to Chando's on taco Tuesday. So the price was right and they did not skimp on the meat. The service was nice and the inside is pretty basic, which is fine with me. The fish tacos were really good. They use Tilapia. The chicken was tender and so was the carnitas. The carnitas meat was pretty salty, which is why I gave them a 4 star. All 4 of the carnitas tacos were pretty salty. They also did not skimp on the onions. But we will be back. read more

I've been a few times when I'm in town but it seems like the food keeps getting better everytime I come here. Really a busy place and it looks like they're expanding the seating area which is really needed. Very big menu of choices and all seem to be delicious. I really wanted some nachos and it looks like they make their own chips so I went with the chicken nachos and a Al pastor mulitia. The nachos are a pretty hefty portion of chips and toppings that hit the spot. Great tasting chicken that I could eat any time. I really feel like the Al pastor mulita is the best way to go. Really cheesy stuffed with delicious Al pastor that has this nice hint of pineapple throughout. Really good and I probably will order that everytime. Pretty solid place to grab some good Mexican food. I do wish they had the soda machine in the dining area instead of having behind the register. Either way good place for some good food read more

I just find it so amazing that this restaurant has Elote on the cob! *drool* it's so crispy and well made. You cannot stop by this restaurant and not get Elote. I recommend skipping the line by ordering in Google Order. It's efficient and works wonderfully for me. The carne asada is easily my go -to -order for something fulfilling and delicious. Chando's makes great tacos and burritos. No denying that. 4th time I've been there. But the service is really bad, they are unorganized with online orders, and the restaurant needs cleaning. For how expensive they're selling items (the burrito is $17), they need to step up service and cleanliness. Major complaint I have is that they are charging $4.40 + tax for "2 oz" of guacamole. PICTURED ABOVE. It used to be the big styrofoam cup for $5. When I saw the small scoop he put into the cup, I told him that doesn't look like enough and he said "yeah guacamole isn't cheap" I ordered online and went into the store 25 minutes later to pick up the order and they told me I never ordered. I showed them my email receipt from the online order, and after some back and forth the employee said "give me 4 minutes". They still got my order wrong and I had to ask for several items that weren't in the bag. They also said the chips are free but I got charged online when I ordered them. Hire someone to fix the online ordering system. To top it off, at the end the employee handed me multiple bags and told me to have a good day. I said thank you. Then he stopped me on my way out the door and said I took other guests orders with me. We had to dig through the bags to figure out what was mine. We had seen this place recommended in local FB Groups, so thought we would check it out. We ordered takeout, so that may have been part of it. (Takeout is never as good as fresh in-house.) Anyway, the kid at the register didn't know answers to basic questions (I'm guessing he was VERY new, in which case a trainer really should have been right there with him). Had we got answers to some of our questions, we might have been more adventurous and tried things new to us, but we ended up staying "safe" and getting street tacos. Hubby and I both got carne asada, grilled fish, and carnitas tacos. My daughter got carne asada. We had specifically asked what is in the kid's taco... they said "just the meat". We got home and there was a guacamole sauce with onion and cilantro on it, which my child won't eat (which was why I asked!) Hubby tried washing it off, but she still wouldn't eat it. Hubby ate 2 of his 3 tacos. I was hungry...I ate all of mine. Oh...they also forgot to throw in the side of beans we had ordered. It was our first visit here. Unfortunately, also our last.
