Alex came out and confirmed damage, wrote an estimate and worked with the damage adjuster from my insurance company to make sure that all of our damage was addressed. We needed a new roof, and also chose to have new gutters, soffits, and gutter guards put on at the same time. Our estimate was written in the beginning of December. I was worried that we would have to wait until spring to do the work, but Alex assured me that he would keep an eye on the weather and if we got a run of warmer days, we would get it done then. We had a warm spell in mid-December and his team of installers came out and did the tear-off and install of the new roof over two days. The gutters and soffits were done during the next warm weather days. My house is nice and dry, and looks great too. The architectural shingles are a great color and the upgraded gutters are amazing. No more getting up on the roof to unclog them! I would highly recommend Ray Gilbert and Sons--they did awesome work at a fair price, were responsive to my questions and concerns, and were overall really easy to work with.

We spoke to a different company first that offered microfiber windows, for all the windows and doors we have in the house, that would cost us almost $100k. We simply can't justify that kind of cost on windows and feel the return on investment doesn't make any sense, so we talked to Universal Windows. Their windows are vinyl and therefore cheaper and a lot more manageable. At the end, the cost was about 1/2 of the other company and we are happy with the quality and installation. Their windows are beautiful and easy to operate. Granted they are new and time will tell, but so far so good.

The lack of timely service and clear communication made this a stressful experience. I called STL Design and Build Design, setup an appointment as my last resort. STL Design sent Tom Levinson. Mr. Levinson arrived earlier than time with his assistant. This is definitely a rare. We went through the areas for remodeling. Tom sat me down and listen to all I wanted to do. Then it came down to the details and pricing. The wants an can't live without. We finished with an estimated quote that we were very happy with. Tom was wonderful. He gave me sound advice on my selections for the kitchen remodel. He went through the cost, time-line, and process. Tom went to warehouses with me for selections on the items. Matthew Pevehouse, thank goodness for him. I had a family emergency out-of-state. Matt took care of everything for us. The whole crew were wonderful. Matt took pictures and kept me up to date. If there was an issue it was quickly resolved. This happened to my friend:…read more My experience with Window Nation has been a nightmare to say the least.   Bob Miller was our sales rep, we were going to decide between Window Nation and another company, which your company was more expensive.   What sold us on Window Nation was that through their financing we did not have to make a payment for 6 months which doing  a large remodel, that was a bonus.       I received an alert about the payment due, I called Bob and he was like "no that is wrong, you don't have to make a payment until June".  I went ahead and set up payment anyway to get to working on paying them off.   I noticed I had two missed payments on my credit history, one from January and one from February.  I called and come to find out he was wrong, it was not no payments for 6 months, it is zero percent interest for 6 months.     I also was unaware that it was a third party financing, to which I can only give my bank account and routing numbers to pay, which I like to use my credit cards to get points and rewards.  When I went to look at my payment history I noticed I had been charged interest every month since January.   So what exactly is the program I am in?  Bob couldn't seem to provide me with that answer nor could Kevin or Josh.  Kevin and Josh seem to be "higher ups" in the company, yet never seem prepared or even educated as to what the situation was  when one the phone they just kept passing the buck onto Greensky which is their third party finance company.  Window Nation uses Greensky, but yet neither of them can communicate with one another.    When asked what program I am in, they just said you will have to contact Greensky, yet Window Nation is whom sold it to me, told me it was no payment, then told me it was no interest, yet I have both, with a hit on my credit because of misinformation.    This entire experience has been a nightmare, I would have went with the other company had I not been misinformed.  The other company was $4000 more, but that was for 14 windows, which I got 4 with Window Nation.  The whole experience has been a nightmare.  They sell on false information, they are unprofessional and uneducated when it comes to customer service.  I do not recommend using this company, there are better priced companies out there.   I absolutely do not recommend using their financing!!!!!

I hired STL Windows and Doors to replace 28 storm windows on my home because they were highly…read morerated. I was told that the windows would be fully custom to fit my existing custom interior windows, however, the storm windows I received are not custom and do not line up with my existing interior windows (see photos below). Honestly, I just wanted this fixed as it degrades the look of our home and is not what I ordered. What the company will tell you: 1. They tried to remedy the situation, but the company they use is no longer making storm windows so there is nothing they can do. 2. They apologize if the windows are not aesthetically pleasing or do not meet my expectations (disregarding the fact that they are not what I ordered). 3. They pride themselves on customer service, their reputation, and their customer's satisfaction. What I will tell you: 1. When I alerted them to the issue, they said, "It is what it is." They also told me that the storm windows only came in a 50/50 split (and not custom). I contacted the supplier myself and confirmed that the windows are available to order in custom sizes. When I told the company this, they said that they had reached out to the supplier and since they were no longer making storm windows, there was nothing they could do. I asked if there were other solutions, such as contacting another supplier, but I never received an answer to that. They also claim that I didn't tell them of the issue until the job was complete, but I told the installer (who happens to be the owner's sister) at the beginning of day two and her fiancé (the salesman) came out at the beginning of day three to see what the issue was. The job was not completed until the end of day three. I did not correspond with the owner until I filed complaints and contacted a lawyer. 2. "Apologies" aside, I must now pay another company considerably more money to fix the issue caused by STL Windows and Doors. 3. Their actions do not align with priding themselves on customer service. To outline a few of the particulars (without going into too much detail): they've blamed the original salesperson who no longer works for the company, they lied about the windows not being available in custom sizes, they then blamed me after I found out that they are available in custom sizes, a window was installed broken and has not been fixed. Please SHARE this with family and friends to help them avoid losing money to false promises. Thank you!
