So, this isn't my first time here. My wife and I go here often. Their wings are amazing and I personally love the Changing Times Original. Yesterday after having a great meal with a couple of ours friends we paid the tab and left a 22% tip after spending about 100 dollars. About 10 mins after paying we were approached a "politely" asked to leave since they have a waiting list. I found this incredibly rude and approached the small man who shook my hand and tried to thank me and us for leaving. I told him how rude I found that despite his "polite" demeanor and have never experienced anything like that in my life. He suggested since we had paid and was sitting for 15 minutes he felt the need to ask us to leave. I can understand if we were sitting there for 45 mins not ordering anything else but 10-15 minutes talking with our friends...unacceptable in my opinion. We were going to order more beers once the waitress returned. Had I not paid the bill already I would have just left. It's unfortunate but because of this I will NEVER return to Changing Times in Bay Shore again. I know they'll survive without my business but I couldn't believe the rude and disrespectful behavior. I had to tell him how rude I found his actions and I hope that he doesn't do that to anyone else. read more

Good spot to go and watch sporting events. Many tabs and tables to accommodate groups. The food is pretty good. Love the sweet potato fries and quesadillas here. They also have really good chicken potstickers. But I pretty much stick to apps when I'm here because the other isn't usually great. read more

Not even sure how to rate this Bay Shore sports bar/ pub restaurant with multiple locations. Wasn't particularly impressed with the selection of beers on tap and they didn't have my favorite. Ordered the chicken fingers for an appetizer and they were horrible. Not crispy and the BBQ sauce on the side was gross. Equally weak were the pretzel bites that were too chewy and not flavorful. Wasn't in the mood for pub grub and, on a whim, ordered their Thai chicken pasta expecting to hate it. Shockingly, it was quite good. Linguine, grilled chicken, shredded carrots, bell peppers, crushed peanuts in a peanut sauce. Only misfire was the not at all appetizing garlic bread served on the side. Another shocker was the Salisbury steak special. It too was delicious. Basically, their pub food isn't that good but their signature dishes and specialties are which is why I had difficulty rating this place. Service was friendly and prices are average. Ok to come for drinks at the bar. The pub fare is lousy but their specials are very good. To each his/ her own I guess. read more

I have always had pretty good experiences here with food and service but tonight's experience compelled me to review their shift change practices and policy. Before we had even received our food, or any measure of service, we were asked by the bartender (who will be left unidentified) to close out our tab. My husband remarked that we would at least like to be served our food before closing (and tipping). After being served our food (which was a burger I ordered medium rare with mushrooms and Swiss but came medium with onions), and literally chewing the first few bites, another bartender came over and said "I'm sorry to interrupt but could you please sign the check so we can close you out?" My husband then replied, with mouth full, "I'm in the middle of chewing. I find your request uncommon and borderline rude." He was then told he was difficult to communicate with. Time was when service was about the customer. I guess these are Changing Times. Would very much welcome managements' thoughts on this exchange. Is this considered company policy? read more

Another place in Bay Shore that I've been enjoying for years, pretty much since it's opened. Great place to hang out and catch your favorite sporting event or just catch up with friends. Food is decent, you figure the typical bar food with a splash of gems. A few of the things on the menu I recommend are the wings, Santa Fe salad and the Cali Turkey burger. The fish bowls are amazing and I am also a big fan of the sangria. I will be honest the last few times I have been here I was a little let down. The food hasn't been the same quality and I've had my order messed up a few times. I've gotten red sangria after asking multiple times for white and the drinks, depending on the bartender, are sometimes watered down. This wont stop me from going, but I defiantly have not gone as much as I used to go. Staff is usually friendly, they are also very accommodating with the sporting events. I am a big soccer fan and I have never had a problem when I asked to switch one of the TVs if a game was on. I was a frequent customer at Changing Times. I go at least once a week and love the atmosphere as well as the food. After yesterday's experience, if I could give this place "0 Stars," I would. I will never patronize this place and I will make sure to let people know. I love leaving positive reviews and praising places ESPECIALLY during this difficult time but I am disgusted at the lack of management and the communication skills of the staff last night at Changing Times. I was told 20 minutes for a table for two, they had taken my name and number down. I decided to wait there as it was football Sunday and I knew every place would be busy. After waiting an hour and 15 minutes, I was given a bar seat outside and waited 20 minutes for a server. Mind you there was a bar and not even a bartender out there or any other customers. After ordering apps and a drink outside, they finally got us inside. I got to changing times at 3:30 and didn't eat until 6:30. Working in a restaurant business, I thought it would be nice to maybe remove an app off the bill or do something to apologize but I still was asked to pay my $120 tab. Asking my server for management, I was told he'll be over in a few and he had NEVER came over. I don't care if it's football Sunday, St. Patty's Day or the slowest day of the week, they should have been more respectful and accommodating. I will never return here and will let people know of my experience. The place was PACKED out, I get it's busy but they wouldn't do much at all for us and that bothered me. They could have took our drinks off the bill and it STILL wouldn't have hurt them. Very disappointed. read more

Came in after a work event (we usually end up there with a bunch of people about twice a year) with about 25 people last night. We asked about putting down a few cards to separate tabs by department (less than 5 cards for 25 people). We were told no to a few different options we presented to help make it easier. Finally asked the bartender what they suggested and they basically said to find another place lol. Went across the street to Finley's where we had a bartender to ourselves and had a great time. Absurd to think that a bar would turn down over $1K in sales for any reason. Will not go back with work or on my own. read more

Decent food and drinks. What I like most is that they show the UFC fights and have a million TV's with every football game on!

I ordered a burger well done and it came back rare, I had already put bbq sauce on it and cut it in half (which is how I saw it was rare!) and they came back with the same burger but a fresh top bun (still cold bc they refrigerate them) it was tasteless and very unfortunate however the service was good! Being that it was about 10pm on a Saturday night after Christmas, every place in Bayshore is packed to the brim as expected...except this place. Bad sign. I understand that this is a sports bar and I guess is designed for a certain demographic, but I have never gotten as bad as service ever in my life than I did at Changing Times. My friends and I (about 6 of us) started at the bar, ordered one drink, then decided we wanted to sit down to order some food and more drinks. God forbid. There were a couple of empty tables and we asked one of the servers if it was a seat yourself kind of deal or if there was a wait. Instantly with an attitude, she informed us that we could sit but we had to order with a server and not at the bar. Maybe she was confused or just assumed because some of us had drinks already but our intention was to sit and order food and more drinks. We sat down. No menus were given to us. Three different servers walked by without asking if we needed menus, drinks, anything; all with blank scowls on their faces. One of which in fact looked like she was about to burn the place down. Total atmosphere killer. About 10 minutes later we finally flagged a grumpy server down. My friend ordered a fishbowl. I don't know if the same server again assumed we would all be sharing the fishbowl(6 of us, 4 being big dudes) but she walked away without asking anyone else at the table what we wanted. All I wanted was a beer. Still no menus. Fishbowl came. She scattered away, ignoring our attempt to get her attention. I have the patience of a saint, I'm also a server and have been in the industry for almost 10 years, so I was giving her the benefit of the doubt at first. Bad night maybe. If the place was crazy busy I would understand even more. 20 minutes gone by and I'm fed up. I decide I'm going to order my beer at the bar. The bar area was quiet, a couple people scattered around and sitting at bar stools. I saw 2 bartenders behind the bar, neither of them looked busy. I know what busy looks like. Blonde bartender comes over, asked what I wanted in a lackluster manner, no hello how are you etc, and I asked her which Greenport beer they had on tap because I couldn't see the top of the tap handle. She responded with "I don't really know, honey, it's dark and you're not going to like it."... I am a respectable 24 year old woman, I do not want to be called "honey" by a bartender who looked and acted younger than me. I also do not want to be told what beer I may, or may not like; especially because I know A LOT about craft beer and dark beers and Greenport beers for that matter. Guinness is my favorite beer. Not only did she not know what Greenport beer they had and decided on her own that I wouldn't like it anyway, she tossed the drink menu at me. All I wanted to know was what that specific beer was, not every fishbowl and fruity drink they had in the establishment. I pushed the drink menu back at her and in the nicest way possible ordered a Guinness, 100% out of spite. I was trying really hard to be nice at this point. She quickly poured my beer, didn't let it settle so I ended up drinking a whole lot of foam, and pushed it at me with a "Here you go, honey. It's 7." She called me honey again. It killed me. I walked back to my table and we all immediately decided to head down to The Cortland. Coming from a family of past bartenders/bar owners, and someone who's sister is a manager of one of the most popular craft beer bars in Manhattan, I truly believe that the owner or managers should have a discussion with the servers and bartenders about their attitudes and overall service. And teach them how to sell the product they're offering. I'm sure Greenport Brewing company would be disappointed to know that one of their local vendors is failing to sell their beer, especially to someone who genuinely wanted one of their beers. The group I was with was easily willing and able to rack up a hefty tab, and we would have treated our server very well, if we ever had been served at all. None of us will be returning. read more

This place is exactly what a sports bar should be. First of all, they have like 42 tv's, and you can see whatever game is on, literally from any spot in the bar. Secondly, the staff there is super nice; you actually get service with smile :) Thirdly, the food is a "cut above the rest," as far as sports bar food goes (Thai chicken skewers...yum). And, "home," (first, second, third, home...get it?) during games/happy hours, etc., it can be a high-energy place, which equals loud, but it's not so loud that you can't have a conversation with those around you. read more

I only stopped by for drinks so I won't be commenting on food. I've been a bit obsessed with fishbowls lately. Since it was a Thursday it was very crowded and nearly impossible to get a seat at the bar. We ended up waiting up a bit to order our drink since the waitresses were super busy. We did order a fishbowl/goblet here lol. It was a berry blend on and we requested Swedish Fish instead of the candy that it normally comes with. The drink itself was great, the candy was a bit stale and not so gummy anymore. I did enjoy the atmosphere and the super clean bathrooms so that's why I bumped it up to a 4 star instead of 3. Every NFL game is on huge tv's that are everywhere. Good beer selection with football day specials with a good food and drink menu. Service was attentive and consistent and the place was packed. So I have had the worst year and not having any family or a place to be on Christmas Eve, I ventured into this place and the best bartender duo was working! Made my night. They were so professional and hospitable the entire night. It was like being at home with family. Drinks were perfectly poured and the entire night was flawless. Usually come here if I'm craving wings because it's so close to where I live, and also to enjoy a couple of drinks after work. Wings are good, I always order it extra crispy and it is delicious. Sweet potato fries taste like dessert (yum) and their loaded fries are also great. Happy hour is $5 apps, which is a great deal, but I wish they had better deals for HH on their drinks. It's just $1.00 off, which isn't the best deal in town. Lots of tvs, gets really crowded on UFC fight nights and during hockey season. Sunday was my first time coming here for lunch with my wife and just walking thru the door you can feel the sports bar theme. All the TV's surrounding the bar, the entire restaurant and 1 in the men's bathroom. Yes in the bathroom! Great idea not to miss any part of a game. The food was way above what I expected. I expected bland, but we received a wonderful and fresh meal. The service was above par. The menu will satisfy everyone. Try the miniature taco. This is a great sports bar. The food is almost restaurant quality. I mean you're no coming here for a gourmet meal. Solid beer selection. It is no surprise that my first time at Changing Times was fabulous. The atmosphere is out of this world from the friendly service, huge televisions, and great drinks. Impressive selection of tap beers that my waitress helped me out to choose from too! I've heard good things about the burgers here so I was excited to try that. I was more than happy with it. The table next to me was drinking fish bowls, which I will absolutely try on my next visit. I love the food, the staff, the drinks and the atmosphere here. But I was here in the middle of January and my biggest complaint is the girls bathroom. The temperature was no more than fifteen degrees. The hand water was freezing. And the air dryer to dry your hands was freezing.
