IT'S SUMMER TIME! It might behoove you to turn the friggin air conditioning on! Just because your bar is empty doesn't mean you should just cut corners to save money. What happens if new customers come in and once the drinks kick in and their body temperature goes up....there's NO A/C! Why in gods would they stay and spend more money at your establishment??!!??? We were 5 people and after 2 hours only got one order. I sent it back because it was cold, and we proceeded to leave. As we were leaving, she was yelling at us about how much money we cost her. Shout out to Sidelines for making my afternoon easy while on lockdown. Always leery to order our with two VERY picky kids but both kids scoffed their meals down in an instant! Wings were perfectly spiced (Ragin' Cajun) and freshly fried, turkey club was nicely toasted and not dry like most places, my daughter ordered a custom hero that wasn't on the menu and she said was made perfectly. Hubs salad was plentiful loaded with meat, my son loved the chicken fingers and RAVED about the awesome French fries. And trust when I say, this is a HARD CROWD TO PLEASE! Ordered food and drink, then asked for a glass of water three different times over a 30 minute time frame. Never got it, waited over 35 minutes. then asked for a refill of drinks for my party. After bartender was gone from bar for over 20 minutes I asked the male worker for refill and water, he stated, I am doing three different things. When I complained of the poor service the female suddenly appeared again and told me they would not serve me any longer, and asked me to leave. They blamed the lack of service on the economy and said, no one will work for them. They threatened to call the police threw my drink away and wouldn't let me settle my receipts. Best Place to host a Fundraiser or hang out with friends. Always clean as a whistle. It's a hidden gem in Lindenhurst Village. Luann and the staff are so amazing and always take good care of all our youth and sport's clubs. BEST Texas toast grilled cheese and wings around. We always a great time at Sidelines. read more

Sidelines use to be bearable for a few beers and wings late night in Lindenhurst after a softball game or late train ride. I was in around 9ish recently. I ordered the salt and vinegar wings upon the lovely waitress/bartender serving are table. My friend pulled two curly hairs off of one wing before being totally and utterly grossed the f out! No way this place will or should last w all the great new spots in Lindenhurst. I would not bring the bad news bears to eat here. read more

This place recently opened a few months ago and we finally made it in on a Friday evening. They definitely cleaned up the place and has a lot of sports Decour. You can do betting there which is nice if you're into horse races. Lots of TVs lots of memorabilia and clean bathrooms. Decent bar menu and drink selection. So glad to see a sports bar open in Lindy. Walking in immediately saw a lot of people at 7:30 on Saturday night for dinner and drinks. We sat by window on a high top table. Overhead lights a bit too bright. Had a Caesar salad which was on the sweet side and good chili. Loved the sweet potato fries. Burger was good. Our server was very attentive. Excellent for Sunday football. All the games and great beer specials. Very clean comfortable atmosphere. Staff was very accommodating especially the bartender. She was very attentive even with a crowded bar. They might have to hire a waitress/waiter in the future for Sunday's because the crowd seemed to grow as the day went on. I went there for a second time on a date Friday evening. I was very upset when I got my bill to find our bartender Michelle charged us for 2 extra shots WE DID NOT HAVE. I told her we only had 4 shots and she had a nasty attitude and claimed we had 2 more. The rest of the bill was correct. I was nice and calm with her but she really pissed me off. I'm so glad that a new bar opened up in Lindy! Me and my mom have come here and sat at the bar several nights here already. We bump into one of the owners every time and she is beyond sweet. Nicole, the bartender, really takes the tome to make sure you get a cocktail you really like. She makes a mean martini and rum punch. Plus they have a great happy hour as well as drink specials. We have tried the fried pickles and the nachos and both were great, classic bar food. Portions are large. The place is brand new and super clean down to the bathrooms. This was the worst experience I have ever had in a bar and I am a bartender myself. Came to watch the Yankees astros playoff game on Sunday and the girl bartending was beyond rude. Monday is a Holliday so I looked up what time sidelines closed to make sure we could hang around for a while and it said 2am! She called last call at 12:35 with a pretty full bar and we were rushed out by 1 o'clock and told to "wrap it up we're closed." She stood next to my friend waiting for her to finish her beer so she could take her glass and lock the door so my friend couldn't even finish her beer. My husband and I recently discovered Sidelines and were happy to have a place to go to watch the Sunday NFL games that are not broadcast in New York. We went on three consecutive Sundays and had a consistent, positive experience each time. The bartender, Jen, was very friendly, and the "football menu" food was great. This past weekend, the playoff game we wanted to see was on Saturday night (1/5/19) so we got there a little after 6:30 and sat at a high-top since we were meeting friends. Katie was behind the bar and immediately came over to take our drink and food order. We let her know we'd be there all night, and she let us know that her shift was over at 7:30 but we'd be well taken care of even after she left. Fast forward to the shift change when Melissa and Chris took over. Though we didn't have any interaction with Chris (he was at the very far side of the bar), I wish we did because our experience with Melissa was negative from the start. She never came to our table to see if we needed anything, and when I went to the bar to order more drinks, she asked me if I had a tab. I said we never started one, but I could tell her what we had already consumed and start a retroactive tab with her. She seemed annoyed and tried to look for our order in the system, but couldn't find it. I then told her what we had ordered previously and went back to the table to get a credit card. About an hour later, we ordered wings, and when she brought them out, she also brought out hot dogs. I told her we didn't order hot dogs, and in an extremely nasty tone, she said "Yes, you did, you ordered them with me at the bar." I said, "No, I let you know at the bar that we had ordered hot dogs before you arrived when you were trying to establish our tab." I then asked her for plates and napkins for the wings. She grabbed the hot dogs back from the table and never came back again (no plates, no napkins, no interest in whether we needed anything else). A while later (9:00 or so), someone turned off the sound to the playoff game and started blasting the jukebox which is somewhat ridiculous. If an establishment is named "Sidelines" and has 20+ TVs, why would you override an NFL playoff game with music loud enough to drown out a jackhammer? Obviously, at this point, there was no reason for us to stay, and my husband and our friend went to settle their bill at the bar. While we were planning to leave, I had noticed that Katie, our original server, had come back in with friends. Since she had given us exceptional service and left before we could thank her, I personally gave her the entire tip on our bill. After we left and went to a sports bar that was actually focusing on the game, our friend told me that Melissa made a snide comment to him about my husband not leaving her a tip. Since I wasn't aware of this remark at the time and could not respond, I'll let this review speak for me. Melissa, a tip is not a given; a tip is earned, and when we have to go to the bar ourselves to order food and drinks, bus our own table, and return back to the bar to ask for and settle the bill, you did nothing to deserve the tip. We are generous tippers, but you actually have to "show up" to be entitled, and we gave the tip to the person who worked for it. All that said, we are still planning to return to Sidelines since the food, patrons, and other staff are great, and our many positive experiences there do outweigh this one negative one. read more

I have been to Sidelines for lunch and happy hour 4 times since their soft opening last month. They are still working out the usual kinks for a new place, but I mostly like this place. The bartenders were all very nice, friendly and efficient. The place itself is a terrific sports bar, with lots of TV's, including individual TV's in the booths. The also have off-track betting. The food I had was all very good, the wings, chili, and burgers were all excellent. I hope that perhaps they add entrees to the menu in the future, as of now they only have appetizers, burgers, salads and sandwiches. My only complaints concern their beer selection. They have an interesting selection of draft beer, although there is no light beer on tap. My biggest complaint is about the regular beer prices apart from Happy Hour. I ordered one the of drafts and was charged $9.50 a pint! That is way too high! It was Blue Toasted Lager, which is priced at $6.00 or $7.00 at other local spots. Hopefully they will make adjustments to the prices when they see that people won't order beers at such a high price. Apart from that, Sidelines is a welcome addition to Lindenhurst. One nice touch was that by the front door, they have pictures of all the bartenders which tell you what shifts they work. Dan read more
