After paying for the 5windows tues-Thursday Groupon.. which states full vehicle ceramic tint for all side and rear windows, includes shade constellation and precise installation. Valid Tuesday through Thursday.. they called me after dropping off my car.. to tell me that the manager said.. that promotion is only for the back... what kind of bs is that?! I do not recommend this company at all..that states the 5 windows consisted of the back the 3 and the 2 little corners.. This is a complete scam... not only did I pay $252 on Groupon for the "5windows, all side and rear windows" but was quoted an additional $240 for the 2 side windows which are not even 12x 12 on my tiny p.. smh. Went in the make an appointment after purchasing a Groupon. He said he created the Groupon a long time ago and forgot to put the excluded vehicles in the description. He said he can do front passenger and rear passenger window at the beginning of the conversation but could not do the rear as it is too expensive. I asked if I could pay for the back window separately and he said he would have to charge me ~$850 to get the work done. I asked again if I can just have the front and passenger windows done without the rear he said, "if I was a nice guy". I said, "so you are not going to do it, because you are not a nice person". He said "correct, I am not a nice person". This is a heads up to anyone wanting to deal with someone with bad character. Crazy because I live in the area and this story will be shared with friends and family. A smart businessman would make it right, so it doesn't hurt future business. By that point, the 3-day cancellation window had already passed, so I was unable to receive a refund and was instead issued "Groupon Bucks," which are far less useful and not what I intended to purchase. The Old Bait and Switch I had my two previous cars (Prius V and Honda Accord Hybrid) serviced by Kool Vision and they did good work. The cost for all windows for each car was $500 and were done about a year ago. When I called for a quote on my 2011 Corolla they quoted me $450 for ALL, yes, ALL windows. I show up and the salesperson does the bait and switch and tells me that "in California when we quote all windows that Excludes the front windshield" then proceeded to quote me an additional $399 for the windshield. So, ceramic window film for $850 on a Corolla? Really? Even if that was the going rate, I'd have appreciated honesty instead of wasting my time. Beware of Kool Vision Windows. They aren't the company they were a year ago. Lastly, and maybe, more importantly, I had the courtesy to wear a mask during my conversation with the salesperson. He wasn't wearing one. I came in to tint the front two windows of my brand new car, and right off the bat they brought out my car with a big scratch in the tint on one of the windows. I'm the one that noticed (notnthe "professional") that worked on it. They replaced the tint (with no apology given), and a couple days later I noticed that there were a bunch of dust bubbles caused by dirt under the tint. I brought the car in to have it fixed, and when I showed everything the manager William, the first thing he did was tell me he was going to remove the tint and give me my money back, and said he didnt want to "waste more of his tint on me". He then proceeded to blame the wind as the reason for all the dust bubbles, and said it will happen again if he retints the windows. For a "professional" tinting place to say all this just blew my mind - they produce a terrible result and blame it on the wind and the customer. I let them remove the tint, then took my money and got of there. I'm going to Diamond Auto Salon in Westlake (where I should have gone to begin with) and will pay a little more to have the job done ONCE the right way. My experience from my first contact with William at Kool Vision was superb. I had to move around my appointment twice due to my new car needing some bodywork, yet William was so flexible and accommodating of those changes. Once at their shop, I was surprised at what a clean and beautiful guest lobby they have and again, William spent the time and really explained to me the functional and price differences between the different tint options. I ended up going with a high grade carbon tint for my BMW 5 series and it turned out perfect and exactly what I wanted. I recently was looking to get my 2500HD Silverado tinted , so I looked online and came across Kool vision and liked that they were local and family owned as I myself have family business. I was able to make the appointment within a two or three days notice which was nice. I went in on a Saturday everyone was very very friendly. The lobby/ waiting area was clean and comfortable. Didn't take much time at all to do the work. The only reason I didn't give 5 starts was the price. $100 for two basic window tints is pretty height up there. Again for basic basic no special up blocking tint for two windows. $100 is a lot. read more

I knew Kool Vision Thousand Oaks did amazing detailing but boy was I impressed! As a mother to a toddler I had my poor car super dirty (I honestly had been avoiding hand wash car washes during the quarantine months) So let me tell you...my car was definitely dirty! I had just purchased a new Toyota RAV4 & needed to get my windows tinted. I called different places & got a variety of quotes. When I called this place they told me $350 -450 for 5 windows. Then hours later I had my husband call & he said $300. Even though other shops in Simi were a little cheaper I preferred to stay local and we made appointment for my car. I was supposed to go into the shop on Thursday to tint my windows but I was unable to keep that appointment & I called to speak to the owner. He said he had a cancellation for the following day on Friday 9/16 at 8 am & I said perfect I'm not working I will be there! The following day I walked in & he asked me who I was & he said no I told you Saturday not Friday you misheard me. I said no you told me you had a cancellation on Friday morning at 8 am & I told you I was not working I could come in... NO you misheard me mam I never said that! Ok whatever I will be back on Saturday (today 9/17/22). I arrived & walked in, showed him my receipt ( my husband had purchased window tint for my driver & passenger window a few days prior). For 2 windows he was charging me $300??!!! not even ceramic at the price??!!! No I told him on the phone when I first called you, you told me $350 FOR 5 WINDOWS and now you're charging me 350 for 2 windows?? No I need my money back and I showed him my receipt ( yellow customer copy of receipt with stapled credit card receipt ) AND HE REFUSED TO GIVE ME BACK MY RECEIPTS!!! He said he doesn't know how to work the credit card machine & I will need to wait until Monday when Esmeralda comes in. He said he has to keep the yellow "customer copy receipt & attached credit card receipt" because he has to give that to Esmeralda before she can return the money. Are you kidding me?? He just kept repeating himself & became angry told me Esmeralda will be contacting us on Monday. I told him I had never dealt with someone as unprofessional as him, he was not running an honest business by the way he was smirking at me & refused to give me back my own receipt!!! I confirmed he was the owner & before I left he " allowed me" to take a picture of my receipt. Not good at all. Do not trust this business. I don't know how he has so many reviews but this is a fresh honest account of what I just experienced with him. I had printed their coupon out and he honored it no problem! $140 for the whole car (no windshield)! Can't beat that. It took him about an hour and I couldn't be more thrilled. Side note: The guys at Allen Body Shop (KoolVision rents a bay from them) were super friendly and super helpful. While waiting in their waiting room my watch had fallen off. They realized it was "the girl who got the tint", found my paper work (I was long gone by then), called me immediately and I went back and picked it up!
