This a cute little Mexican place. Actually, I've been here twice with the first time being right after they opened in 2023.

I drive past all the time. Last night I was driving by and made the spur-of-the-moment decision to get an early (5 pm) dinner here. Walking in, I saw the sidewalk sign with the specials written. I chose 2 from that. The Peach Margarita sounded good, as did the Shrimp Enchiladas. I sat at the bar and the nice bartender got me a water and made my drink. The peach flavor was good. I felt it could have used a bit more tequila. The entree was good. I liked the fresh lettuce and tomato. The refried beans and cheese sauce was good. All in all, there was nothing that would bring me back. It was an okay Mexican restaurant. I've had better. read more

The food was tasty, and the portions are big. I took home about half on each entree. Sat out on the patio which is really nice. It's a bit out of the way for me but is definitely worth a try. The server was outstanding and very bust but didn't forget about us checked in several times. read more

We were headed to our normal spot for Mexican food when we noticed an inviting restaurant called Chapala. Not gonna lie, the restaurant is beautiful. While we rarely base a restaurant on the aesthetics, we were pleasantly surprised at the menu and more importantly the food quality itself. Upon getting to our seats we immediately ask the table next to us what they enjoyed. The fajitas were a huge hit and that is what we both ordered. Shrimp, beef, and chicken or all tender juicy and flavorful. The shrimp, especially, we're not overdone. That's a huge separator when it comes to fajitas. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. Do yourself a favor and make a beeline this little Oasis in the sleepy little town of Worthington, Ohio. You'll be glad you did! read more

Visited for lunch. The restaurant was still quite with only a couple of people at the bar and one other table sat next to ours. Our server was good. She wasn't overly attentive as she could sense that my friend and I were catching up and taking our time. We both ordered the carnitas. It was delicious and filling with pork, corn torillas, spanish rice, and beans. The salsa was also yummy. I used it on the carnitas because it had such good flavor. First and foremost, the good things. This is a BEAUTIFUL space, decorated and lit well. both the dining room and the bathrooms are nothing short of immaculate. Chairs were comfortable too. After sitting, I was served quickly and the bartender could answer any questions I had. Drinks were pretty solid, albeit pricy. The food was overall okay, i got no apps because they charge for chips and salsa, nothing special and at times a little disappointing, especially for the price point . Everyone in my group of six really enjoyed their food and drinks. It was a bit loud, but vibes were good. Service was great! I ordered the Camerones Chipotle: Grilled shrimp cooked with mushrooms, sautéed with medium chipotle sauce. Served with Mexican rice, refried beans, and tortillas. The sauce tasted like yum yummy sauce, but was so delicious! I also had the Blackberry Mint signature margarita: Muddled fresh blackberries and mint, squeezed fruit, gold tequila. I've had dine in a few times and the most recent time I had delivery. This time I had the avocadita lunch special. Basically a fried/ pressed taco stuffed with veggies and avocado. I had a side of beans and veggies. It was really good and I had some guacamole. Decent prices for lunch. Definitely would recommend. read more

Quaint neighborhood restaurant. Easy to find and parking outfront. Service was amazing and very attentive. The menu was bigger than I imagined, making it hard to decide when there were so many good options. The cheese dip was slightly spicy but perfectly dippable without being runny or too thick. The salsa had a nice onion note with a very fresh taste. Chips were hot and fresh. I got the steak fajitas. Huge portions, so come hungry. More vegetables than steak but non the less, delicious! Came with a side of rice and beans. Salad side with Pico, sour cream and lettece. Overall I enjoyed this restaurant. I don't live on this side of town but could see this being a neighborhood spot. Went here for my birthday dinner and had a great time. We were seated in a corner booth which was nice. Service was excellent and meals were very good. I ordered a margarita to start and it was very refreshing. For dinner I had veggie fajitas. It came with all the toppings and warm tortillas, beans and rice. Stopped by the Worthington Market during a downpour..Lol..after that being soggy makes you hungry. We've been wanting to try this place out for awhile just never got to it. First impression..Wow! Looks nothing like the Bruegger's Bagels anymore. Very nicely decorated and so much room. Didn't expect it at all. Started out with queso and chips. Good. My Margarita was good also. My husband enjoyed his chimichangas. My pork tacos were to die for. Loved everything about them the flavor of the meat and toppings were a great combination. Random experiences can be good experiences! I visited Chapala with my wife on a whim, and it was solid across the board. Good food, good drinks (horchata and house lime margarita) good prices, good patio and great staff. Free chips and salsa always start the meal off right, and then the Choripollo hit the spot for me. Just tried Chapala for dinner after having it for lunch at work this week. It was even better in the restaurant. There are very few, if any, cons for Chapala. One would be the interior size. It's a small dining room, but nicely done. Mexican, but more contemporary. Service was polite & fairly quick. Nothing great, but standard friendly service. Our server was fine. The food was really good! I had the Fajita Burrito w/steak & she had the Pollo Yucatán. Both portions were large & delicious! The salsa was great as well! Slightly spicy, but not hot. We met for a late afternoon meal. The parking lot was mostly full and business was steady. We were seated promptly and the service was attentive. The dining room is not large but the seating was comfortable and not crowded. Sort of a conventional restaurant with new age lighting and a few touches to remind one it's Mexican. This meal falls at the higher priced Mexican restaurants, but, fits the neighborhood. 3 of us drank water, appetizer and meals about $65. The guacamole was dry. The queso dip was good but already thickening when served. It improved dramatically when we briefly baffled our server to bring us a small bowl of ground beef (cooked) and mixed in. The salsa had a bit of a kick which I liked and was an acceptable consistency (not chunky nor thin). The chips were fresh. My meal, was acceptable, tasty, but, nothing exceptional. This is a place I'd have no problem going to again, but, no craving to add it to a favorite spot. read more

When there for my Grandsons birthday a total of 5 In our party. What a pleasant atmosphere with a great Mexican accent not over whelming. The place was full we were seated and served warm chips and salsa, a waiter came over took our drink order in short order brought us the drinks and took our food order in a little bit the food was served by two people and our waiter. The order was right on the spot, everyone was served the right order, hot and very well plated. Not to mention some of the best Mexican food I have had in a long time. We all left full and happy. What drew me to this place was the vegetarian selection on their menu! No substitutions required to make those traditional dishes you expect to see at a Mexican grill or Tex-Mex restaurant VEGETARIAN! And the delicious flavor and freshness really puts this place over the top! We will surely be back! read more

Small portions, basic flavors, no wow factor. Free chips & salsa before the meal. You don't see that these days. The fish tacos were pretty good. The meal comes with 3 tacos and a side dish. The fish and the toppings were scanty as it was mostly iceberg lettuce. The taco salad was a huge disappointment. It looked like a kids sized taco salad. There was hardly any chicken. Where were all the toppings? The only thing in there was iceberg lettuce, sour cream and a couple slices of tomato. The taco shell/bowl was made from a small tortilla. That's how small it was. The kids quesadilla looked like a taco. There was only 1 tortilla folded in half with more chicken than there was on my salad, a little cheese and what appeared to be fajita mix. Not sure what happened there. The service was great and the free chips and salsa were a nice touch. However the price of the food doesn't match the flavor/quality of the small portions. Recently gave this location one more chance. No change apparently; slow service, and to make it worse this time - water glass had someone's finger prints & lipstick still on it. Gross! Food quality remains inconsistent: can be good, can be lousy. Parking is ridiculously bad. You have to either circle the block or park on street in front of someone's home. Which I'm sure they enjoy. Interior is nice. Good bar, bartender seemed to be the only person hopping. Last chance given. Verdict remains the same; AVOID THIS PLACE! read more

Well-rounded Mexican menu right in Worthington. The kids quesadilla was perfect and more food than our four-year-old could eat. She loved it! I always appreciate free chips and salsa at a Mexican place, so Chapala didn't disappoint. My husband thought the taco salad with chicken sounded like a nice lunch, but it was a bit light for him. It's not very large and doesn't have the toppings you might expect. Just lettuce, sour cream, and a couple tomato slices. Fortunately my fish tacos meal came with three so I had an extra one for him! I asked for chipotle ranch on the side in case it was too spicy, but I did end up adding a bit to the tacos. Overall great flavor in the unidentified battered fish. Finally a Mexican restaurant in Worthington. That was desperately needed in Worthington. I had the chicken chimichanga with refried beans and Mexican rice. It was delicious and yummy. I will be going back there again soon. Great service from Alexa, the server. Great service and value, and unlimited chips and salsa. My said their Top Shelf were the best margarita she has ever had. I loved coming here. The staff was so kind and my waiter was great! I had the camarones (shrimp) Yucatán and it was delicious!

The food here is amazing and the service is always super quick and friendly although I have one complaint. I come here often to pick up food for my lunch and I've even brought my family a few times and sat and ate there because the inside of the restaurant is super nice- however I came in today to do a pickup per usual. And I just got a side hard ground beef taco which is $3.75, and I clicked the online option to pay .99 to have them add sour cream and tomato onto my taco. I walked in and gave them the name for the order and they acted pretty weird towards me and then I got told that next time I need to pay for sour cream and tomato to be added on and that they added it on as a courtesy this one time... for something I had paid for. Not only is it weird to charge .99 for sour cream and tomato for one taco but then to act like it's a courtesy for something the customer already paid for is kinda terrible customer service. This is the second time I've had an issue with them- however most of the time they've been pretty consistent and amazing with the food and service. Not sure if they were having a bad day but please read a customers receipt before accusing them of fishing for free add ons and then putting said add on as a courtesy. read more
