Bob the PA is knowledgeable and has a good bedside manner. I highly recommend this practice. I would not consider going elsewhere.

Great doc. Unsafe facility for crips. "Team" can't refill a standing prescription to save my life.read more

Honestly the only reason I come to this facility is because my PCP is here and I've been his…read morepatient since before I had need for specialists. He's amazing and would get five stars on his own. Unfortunately... the rest of the place leaves something to be desired. The front desk staff is overwhelmingly Christian, which is perhaps to be expected from a pseudo-Catholic hospital affiliate. I'm sure that's great for their mental health, if not their eternal souls, but it does leave one with the issues one generally has with loudly-Christian folk, including self-righteousness, ableism, and homophobia. They've recently taken down the "inspirational" (read: prejudiced) printouts wallpapering many cubicles so we'll see how that goes. I have not had much luck here with specialists: My wife, a friend, and I have been refused exams (by different doctors) because of being overweight. I was told "fat people have pain" as if I am too stupid to tell the difference between mild arthritis and a displaced kneecap. Whoopsie! My wife was accused of drug-seeking after a brutal car accident; I got the same from a different doctor because I worked at a pharmacy for years and used the word "drug" instead of "medication" to describe my super-exciting and TOTALLY recreational cholesterol and blood pressure meds. Despite a pair of vicious surgery scars, I was informed that the surgery I had didn't exist. After I paid out of pocket for copies of 24-year-old paper medical records from a non-affiliated hospital, the doctor acknowledged that I had had the surgery but I just didn't know the right name for it. She refused to tell me the "correct" name. I could go on, and I could name names, but the bottom line is that this is a PERVASIVE issue in the culture of the practice. Patients are treated more like enemy combatants than partners in healthcare. There is a saying or belief in Baltimore about doctors. You go to Hopkins if you're good enough You go to University of Maryland if you can stand the politics You go to Mercy if you can stand the religious culture You go to GBMC if you can't stand either You go to MedStar if no one else will hire you ...Overlea just so often fails to live up to Mercy's place on that list.

This is a perfect example of a physician practice that either doesn't have a clue or just doesn't…read morecare. This provider has a individuals running the front desk and taking appointments that just do not care or have any considerations for their patients. The doctor sucks, however; there is a PA (Physician Assistant ) that truly knows her stuff. Her name is Jessie. She is not only smart and knows anything you need to know about symptoms, drugs and prescriptions she cares. About a week ago I was in need of a refill for a drug Jessie had prescribed for me. Unfortunately, she was out on vacation. I was told that I needed to be seen by Dr. Schultz before they could refill my prescription. First, I do not go to Dr Schultz and he has no history of my previous condition. I was not having any issues or problems with the drug. I asked if they could just fill the prescription for 7 pills until Jessie returned and I would be glad to make an appointment with her. Again they refused. This was a Tuesday, 9-6. On Friday 9-8 I telephoned to get an appointment with Jessie knowing she would be very busy just returning from vacation and was told that she was booked. I explained this was a drug that you are not to just stop taking without the help of your physician and I had no more pills left. Again they reminded me that they offered me an appointment with Dr. Schultz and I refused. At that point I asked to pick up my medical records to go and find another physician. I was then told that I needed to send a letter making the request, then they would notify me how much it would cost . They needed to receive my check before I could get the records. Again I reminded them that I needed the refill. The woman answering the phone , Karen ( a real bitch) then hung up on me. I am so angry! I called back and spoke to another woman and she said she would look into the matter. This is an example of how this doctor just wanted to bill my insurance company for no reason and refused to care about the situation. It is now Monday, 9-11-2006 and I have not heard back from this doctor at all. I strongly suggest that anyone looking for a family practicioner to stay away from Perry Hall and Dr. Schultz office. There have been several other instances such as lab results never being reported back to me unless I inquired. When I did there was usually a problem and my medications had to be adjusted. Unfortunaletly, Jessie is a very good PA but; she works for a very insensitive office. I hope she finds her way to a practice that appreciates her for who she is. BEWARE OF THE DOCTOR IN THE BLAKELY BUILDING, SUITE 111.

I would not recommend making an appointment with Dr. Vissing…read more I scheduled and appointment for myself to establish a new primary care physician Dr. Vissing came in, read from the history in my pre-registration form, did a physical, and asked if I had any issues and if I wanted bloodwork. No attempt to establish any type or patient/physician relationship. I described the only issue I have been having, and he prescribed me an anti-depressant because it would also help with my symptoms, although I'm not experiencing any of the symptoms associated with depression. Understandable that medicine can be used for treatment of other things. Totally irresponsible to prescribe me a new medication that is known to have side effects that can alter your brain chemistry and then tell me to schedule a follow-up in ONE YEAR. The only reason I am giving two stars is because the rest of the staff was fantastic

We've been with Clinical Associates since the mid '90's. I like my primary care physicians and the…read moreother specialists I've seen at the site. However, over the last 6 months, I have experienced MANY office communication problems. This is across the board with specialists and primary care physicians. The providers' staff DO NOT return phone calls or respond to messages. I had to physically walk into the back of my primary doctor's office, (without an appointment, and no one at the front desk) to get a referral for PT after calling four times with the request. The nurse was concerned she hadn't gotten the messages, and I showed her my call log to verify the contacts. This is just one example, we have had three other concerning encounters involving cancelled appointments (on their end), records not being forwarded to specialists outside the site, and an inability to schedule or reschedule appointments as no one returns our calls. Primary doctors and nurse practitioners retire or resign and there are no replacements, the existing doctors are stretched thin. We unfortunately, after 30+ years, will be looking for a location.
