Pretty awesome brewery to hang out & enjoy some good beer, I finally got to check out this brewery while I was in Anaheim for the UFC (while Chapman is listed in Orange it's about a 6 minute ride from Angeles stadium & the Honda Center). They have a pretty big selection of beers somewhere around 12 on tap when I was here, the Belgian & milk stout were pretty good. Since it was a pretty hot day my gal pal wasn't in the mood to take any risk with a flight and just went with a regular lager. I was surprised how good the lager actually was, since most craft breweries focus more and beers with complex flavors most of them tend to have sh1ty lagers/lite beers. Their "Hello Again" lager is very refreshing & has a good balance of flavor. The tap room has plenty of seating with board games to play & a few TV sets, if a tv in a brewery isn't your thing there's another room with additional seating, & a ping pong table. Tasters for flights start at $2, and pints are between $5 & $7. With this area of Orange being so close to Anaheim there are a hand full of other breweries near by, so if you're thinking about taking a mini brewery tour in the area make sure Chapman Crafted Beer is on your list. read more

I love this place. I'm a local, and I like to come here in the afternoons with my computer and do some light work. The staff is friendly, there are plenty of indoor and outdoor tables to choose from, the internet is fast, and the beer selection is large, diverse, and ever-changing. The location is good too, because it's just far enough off The Plaza to offer good parking, but still convenient. The beer could mayyybe beer $1 or so less expensive, but if it helps keep the establishment going, then so be it. No in-house food options, but there's a food truck pretty often. If you're a beer guy/girl, Chapman Crafted is a must try. read more

When you think of the Craft scene, Chapman Crafted definitely fits the profile. What do I mean? A place you can hang out with friends, a place that you can get food within walking distance, a place that you can just relax and be yourself. That is this place. And the taproom is like 3 separate rooms. One that has brewing equipment and a shared bathroom (and a standing shower for some reason that I one day would like to try) by the entrance, one that has the counter and dark space with the TV, and one that is a big hall that unfortunately for us, was used for special events and we were kicked out by 6:30pm (BTW, congrats to the beer loving couple that got married and used this space). When it comes to the beers, it has gotten better and better since I've first seen them a couple years ago at a Brewhaha event. Sure this place is a little ale heavy as in pales, IPAs, and reds. But you'll also find lagers, berliner weisse (That mango guava absofruitly is killer!), strong ales, and stouts. So a pretty well rounded varietal for everyone. I do see the taps set at a slow pour, which is great because you won't get a lot of carbonation this way. But it will take just about 1/2 minute longer for your flights here. Oh speaking of which, flights are 4 of your choices and prices can range from about $2 to $4 a pour. At least it was on the day I was here. They have a food truck here when I was here last Friday and we got some carne asada fries. Oh my favorite here at this time was their project treadstone. A BBA Strong Stout, clocking over 12% ABV. Roasty, Malty with coffee notes. I didn't pick up much of the barrel taste in the mouth feel but still overall a solid beer. We went to get food nearby and did a walking tour with friends from out of town. I love how convenient everything is in Old Towne Orange. The place is changing but for the better. You'll still see some places that won't change, like the Watson soda counter that is a favorite and a dying art. When we came back, the place was crowded by 8pm. So make sure you come early if you want to score a good seat in the brewery. Parking is FREE either on the street or behind the brewery. I believe it's a 3 hour limit. We need more of these breweries near here for a beer crawl, like much of those in the city of Anaheim. But for now, definitely make this a stop onto your current list. read more

Super mellow spot. Huge space, felt a bit barren on a slow night, and so was quickly reminded that yes, I'm drinking in a warehouse :P Lots of bistro lights and high top tables strewn throughout. Great variety of beers. Loved how you could build your own flight with however many pours, averaging $1.5 to $2 for each small pour. Great way to try out their selection. Walked away with a crowler of one of their delicious hazy IPAs. No kitchen, but they let you BYOE. Beers + pizza, great way to spend a night! Parking is a bit tight. read more

After a 16 mile hike in orange county we were looking to treat ourselves to a well deserved beer or two! We decided to stop in Chapman thanks to the recommendation of some friends. I ordered a flight, as I do at many breweries because you get to try so many more beers! I am a huge fan of sours, so you know I had to get the Absofruitly! Plum Apricot as well as the Absofruitly! Raspberry. I also tried the Saint Chapman and the Slow riser. All of the beers I had were delicious! They had many tv screens, board games to play as well as bags and ping pong! Such a cool brewery! I was in old town Orange and looking for a good beer. This was it! There were 3 large areas to sit and one main bar. There were plenty of places to sit either with the crowd or away from it. There was a good variety of beers. Personally, I love sour beers and the ones they had were so good! I tried their blood orange wheat, the absofruitly raspberry and the absofruitly plum apricot. They were all so good! This place is dog friendly which I thought was cool. Also, they are open until midnight on the weekends which is a bonus since most breweries close early. I loved this place, loved the beers and I can't wait to go back! read more

A small tasting room/ brewery right around the corner from the orange circle. They offer a small variety of beers. I'd have to say I enjoyed the lager the most. It was cold, light and crisp. Perfect for Summer drinking. They have string lights hanging from the ceiling that give the bring light to whole. tasting room. I really like the look! I came by on a Tuesday and it wasn't very busy. I can't say enough good things about this place. My first visit was a little off, but I've come to see that was an outlier experience, because every single time I've come back since then, I've had nothing but amazing times. The beer is top notch. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I got a coffee to-go on my last trip and it was wonderful. Brought home a couple of glasses that I didn't have in my glassware collection yet. Stopped by on a whim after brunch. Decided to try the Slow Riser Red Coffee Ale and it was bomb. If you love nitro and beer then this one will be a treat for you. Tons of open air seating and they have a queue set up inside to make sure traffic flows one way. Also appreciate that they'll card no matter what. Enjoyed some beer samples here on Saturday. They have a wide range of beers to touch everyone's taste buds! I enjoyed a sampler so I could try the Juniper and Lime beer they had among others! While parking is hard in this area, know you will stay a while because there is lots to do! They have corn hole, ping pong, and much more to enjoy! Beer selection and taste (3/5) I like that they are experimenting with lactose and some varieties for pale ales, red ales, and IPAs. Atmosphere and facility (3/5). Cons to start: Parking is difficult to find on residential streets. There is only 1 bathroom! What a line! Pros: 2 1/2 large open rooms. TVs, Foosball, ping pong, and corn hole. Another con is that they are strict about bringing beer outdoor. I wish people could bring their beer outdoors in front of their building and become sort of a "beer garden" like Golden Road. However, probably due to city laws or owner decision, they do not. Events and celebrations (4/5) What separates this brewery from others are the frequent events that are always happening here. (Science on taps, paint nights, can food drive/5 K, running clubs). It would be a nice place to hold a small private event. I appreciate the growing number of microbreweries that are popping up all over North Orange County. Chapman crafted is a local family owned brewery located in Old Town Orange. There are so many unique shops around here that are hidden around these streets. Will Dee and Randy Newman are the founding partners with Brian Thorson as the head brewer. read more

This review is long overdue since my partner and I occasionally visited Chapman prior to the pandemic. The other week, we were able to get seated at a table on the patio near the "Mex it up" food truck. The chile verde quesadilla with a side of tortilla chips and salsa was worth it. Decent portion -- but most importantly, totally worth sitting outside in great weather!! Note: to comply with California COVID-19 regulations, each table orders about $10 worth of food with any beer orders. If you only want to order brews, then they'll be for takeaway. Chapman is one of my favorite local craft breweries because I like variety. So flights are typically my thing; my other half likes the IPAs. This time since I couldn't get a flight, I got the Scenic Route (filtered) American IPA. At this time, like many breweries, many hazy IPAs are on the tap menu. If I had to choose a second, the Slow Riser is reliably good & tasty! Also order coffee beans to go. read more

All their beer selections are really good to good depending on ur taste. There isn't a bad beer and one of the worker informed me the owner is a scientist and uses a big tank to filter out the water which makes their beers taste fresh. Their flights cost around $8-10. And I loved that they had a ping pong table and Fooseball table, kept the fun going :). It's a good sized brewery that can fit plenty of people and dogs. read more

My first visit to Chapman was a few months ago for my birthday month, I went specifically for their zodiac series brew. Cancer. I was able to have some and buy some, canned to take home with me that day. Definitely hands down the best brew I had that month, and I had quite a few. I am such a huge fan of CC Beer. Since the beginning they have just crushed it with a perfectly selected variety of brews. From ales to pales, from doubles to any type of IPA they're solid. Even from coffee infusions to collaborations no matter what kind of beer you're into you'll find something that you LOVE! I live close so I'm spoiled. But I'd drive a good distance for this quality. I'm no beer connoisseur by any means but I've tried plenty of breweries and Chapman Crafted kills it. Every time. They honestly compare to any big or small beer outfit out there. The "Personal" line of pales is my personal favorite ;) Personal touch was the first beer I had in a growler years ago. So good! Permanent waves, Kool Kid Hops, Scenic route, Absofruitly (raspberry infused). All recent. All amazing! I can't say enough positive things about them. Friendly staff with helpful service always. I came here because a buddy recommended a beer and I ended up loving this spot. The location is a bit discrete and a little low key, it's awesome! The vibes here are great. It's definitely a spot to come hang out and have some brews. They offer great prices with even better beer. They have a bunch of seats available (it can get busy) and have quiet a few board games for people to play. They also have a ping pong table and a couple other games. The service was cool. Pretty friendly people. Chris helped me out and recommended a couple drinks. Will definitely be returning as often as possible. I had a coffee red ale that sparked my first trek over to Chapman crafted beers, to see what the "slow riser" is like straight from the source. Like any proper microbrewery worth its salt this place would be hard to find if google maps wasn't a thing. Hidden near the heart of old town orange, this is a great watering hole if you want to stumble down to all the nearby places to eat and shop. The place itself is an unimposing building with mostly street parking and a few spots in front, the place inside feels more like you're being invited on a private tour than a public-facing tasting room. The bartenders are fun and real, and there's plenty of cool merchandise from all manners of glassware to t-shirts and hats. There are maybe 4 high tables in the main building, and then there's a nearby recreation room with cool barrels and games like ping pong and cornhole. Water is self-serve here, which I've become a bit spoiled and just expect now, since I drink a lot of water and don't want to always hound a busy bartender to keep getting me some. There are usually about 8-12 beers on tap, mostly core brews from what I saw and a few rotating. Everything is alright, but the only one that impresses me is the slow riser. I'm not an IPA guy but their slow riser is fairly unique as a light smooth coffee red ale. They brew it with several different types of coffee, mostly their own bangarang coffee beans but sometimes they use local greats like portola or klatch. I have no idea which batch and beans they used at the Pint House where I got my first glass of this beer, but it was better than any slow riser I've had since. Probably depends on your taste in coffee too to some degree. A must-check-out brewery but not a place I'd visit too often since old town orange is a rough place to try and park (though around chapman crafted beers is a bit better) and the main beer I like here seems to taste better from other spots. read more

Tucked away in Downtown Orange Chapman Crafted Brewing is a great place to stop in for a beer. They have a menu that includes IPAs, Lagers and Pilsners. They even gave Stouts and Porters.. Outside is spacious and a short walk from shops,restaurants and bars in Old Town Orange. Beer tenders are cheerful and friendly. Tasty and flavorful craft beer in a relaxed and casual atmosphere. Finally! Why is it that so many craft breweries in OC seem to spend way less time working on producing good, solid beers and more time on decorating, having everything themed, and/or serving "gastropub" food? Thankfully Chapman is putting their efforts where they count -- at least in the eyes of true craft beer enthusiasts. They are making great beer. My husband and I came in for the first time recently and decided to split a flight. This is my favorite way to taste all the different styles that a brewery has to offer. As usual, we went with the heavier, more full bodied (and boozy) brews: 1) Hot Curly DIPA -- husband loved this but it was too hoppy for me. Good beer, just not my favorite style unless the hops are balanced with a lot of malt. 2) Colonel Oats oatmeal stout -- damn good and certainly one of the best oatmeal stouts I've tried in a long time. 3) Slow Riser red ale with coffee -- this beer is delicious! It reminded me of Noble's Naughty Sauce but better with more body and a richer mouthfeel. 4) Mob Rules barleywine -- well balanced and not too hot despite an ABV of 10.5%. 5) Djent coffee stout -- ding ding ding, we have a winner! This beer was freaking amazing and I would have ordered a full pour of it if I wasn't driving. At least my husband got to booze it up with this 10.5% ABV brew. Great beer, chill atmosphere, and you can BYO food which I love. If you see a gal with her own vegan picnic (including homemade cheeses), that's probably me! Based on the setup of the tasting room, it looks like it's climate controlled by opening and closing the garage-type door. It was very pleasant out on the day we stopped by but I'm guessing it can get fairly hot in the summer and chilly in the winter so dress appropriately. Oh how I wish Chapman Crafted in my town instead of the two mediocre breweries we currently have. Oh well, I guess that means a North County beer crawl is in order soon. read more

The rating is mainly for the Slow Riser that is basically the perfect hybrid of coffee and beer. Flights are also great options if you want to sample 4 different beers at a time and it comes in this cute metal flight set. Chapman crafted is an excellent spot. They opened right after my business did in old town orange and I must say they change with the times for the better. Their space is amazing and always a great place to chillax and have a brew or tasty coffee beer. They hosted an Architechts of Orange Event and it was epic.
