The pizzas are my favorite , brick oven with wood fire, think crispy crust, it's a taste that can't be compared to any pizza. Although I've ordered food to go several times from this restaurant tonight was the first time I've eaten in the restaurant Itself. Decor was pretty and we decided to eat at the bar. The goats cheese salad with arugula was tasty and perfectly seasoned with the right amount of dressing. I had the cioppini (seafood stew) which was awesome contained generous amounts of shrimp, clams, mussels and white fish (cod I think?) done in a saffron tomato based broth, my friend ordered the short ribs with pasta which was also good. Although I didn't have room for deserts this time everyone around me seemed like they were enjoying theirs and recommended the toffee pie and the creme brûlée. Great local go-to for a good meal. They're always crowed in the summer, so plan accordingly. The service is great, but sometimes they're super busy and I think the staff gets stretched thin. They have amazing pizzas with super thin crust. Their burgers (when they are on the specials menu) are great. Went with my family (5 people) on a busy Friday night. We were seated after a short wait and had a terrific server who came right over. We all had salads and pasta dishes. Tornelli chicken broccoli was absolutely fabulous. My husband had a delicious rib eye steak. The salads were all delicious (ceasar and spinach). My second visit and I'ill be back! I chose the warm goat cheese salad-just as described w/ plenty of delicious warm cheese. Also, the Fig Prosciutto pizza-phenomenal! Wood fired w/ nicely done thin crust. Plenty of toppings the sweet off-setting the saltiness. Loved it. My discerning friends had the house made pasta, meatballs and sauce, which they raved about. This is another restaurant in falmouth that built it's reputation years ago with some great gourmet pizzas and salads and calamari that were consistently prepared by a great chef. Fast forward to now and you have horrible attempts to recreate the same dishes. Some of the pizzas are such gross distortions of the original brilliant renditions, that it is hard to believe that this place is still in business!. I would write a review on the food, but we didn't even get that far. We called to see if they took reservations, they said they did call-ahead seating and that it was about a 20-minute wait. So we put in our name, went there, and ended up waiting for over an hour. People were getting in before us that came in 40 minutes after us. We asked, and were "Next in line" about 5 times. WHAT A GREAT RESTAURANT! Too often during winter on the Cape, restaurant quality goes down. Not at the Chappy. We had dinner for four last Saturday evening at 7. This is a very well run restaurant. All of the staff worked together to ensure diners' happiness. Very varied menu, both in choice and price. Started with Calamari, perfectly fried with capers and pepper rings. Delish. Then, the warm goat chceese salad made with loads of arugula. Great. Linguine with red clam sauce, excellent and huge. Shrimp Scamp, excellent. (He wished he had ordered the full portion.) Wild Mushroom house-made ravioli, very good. Manicotti, excellent. Huge portion. The waitstaff could not have been sharper or more obliging. Someone here knows how to run a restaurant. High recommended. Great wine list. Cozy bar. Parking. Nice atmosphere. Not snobby. It's doesn't get better than this on the Cape - especially during the winter. A must go and go back to! read more

My burger was so raw that it was bleeding.The French Fries were soggy as a wet towel and undercooked.The pickles were too sweet. We asked for them to put our original burgers back on, but instead they cooked new. Nice gesture but that leaves half the table without any food for 15 minutes instead of four. I have enjoyed the Chapoquoit Grill over the years but most recent take out experience has me thinking they need some serious help. Ordered two salads, manicotti and mushroom ravioli. The salads were just ok, the spinach, feta and pecans were good but there were large chunks of red onion (lazy cuts). The orange-poppyseed vinaigrette dressing is terrible. "Everybody's Favorite Manicotti" is a dish that my daughter typically loves but the ricotta cheese can barely be tasted because they mix in so mix oregano. Another family favorite is the "Wild Mushroom Ravioli", the seasonal mushrooms were thicker than expected and barley cooked. With such a limited menu, pizza and a handful of pasta dishes, they need a real chef to help them with these dishes. First, let me start by saying the food I had was good so kudos to the kitchen but that is where it ends. I started the evening waiting at the bar for my date to arrive. I first went to the men's room where the paper towel dispenser didn't work. There are large tvs over the bar visible to the dinning room. There was a show on that they were interviewing Steve O of Jackass fame. It was unpleasant watching them place a leach on his eye, having him catapulted into the air inside of a port-a-potty with excrement splashing on him then feeding an alligator by hanging raw chicken out of his underwear. I paid my bill just before my date arrived and the bartender took the money and thanked me without returning my change. She would have received more had she given me the change but she didn't. I HATE it when they assume that the change is theirs. We then made out way to the hostess station and watched her chitchat with another waitress instead of coming over to seat us. Once seated our waiter passed by our table 3 times explaining he would be right back after taking care of other patrons. We ordered our drinks which took a while to be delivered. We ordered our food and my date was informed that they would be substituting a pork chop for the pork loin because they were out. As I mentioned, the food was good but it did take a while to arrive. When it came time to pay the bill I had to leave my seat to ask another server to find ours after waiting close to 15 minutes since we had finished our meals. Again, the food was good but there were just too many other issues that prevented me from enjoying the evening. It seems to me that better management is needed. read more

My wife and two young kids ate here in early June and had poor experience. While the service was good, the food was lousy. My wife had a pasta dish with shrimp that were so over-cooked and over-salted as to be complete inedible. WORST Service Ever!!! We were in the cape for a basetball tournament. March 2015. We called 4 days ahead and made reservations for our team of 6th grade girls and parents. They knew our numbers. When we got there, they wouldn't let ALL the girls sit together or ALL the parents. They split us all up. And the place was empty when we arrived at 5. 2 girls were left out and 4 parents were left out. We pushed until the girls were together. The waitress at the girls table was rude. The girls were so well behaved and polite. We had birthday cake for 1 girl and they charge 1.50 per piece to plate it. One girl gave up cake for lent and she asked politely for ice cream. The waitress responded with "what do you think we are?!! Friendlys??" The adult tables waiter wasn't too nice either. We complained to the owner and he was so laid back about it with not a care in the world. I will NEVER go back and neither should anyone else! My family memebrs ate here last night, they said the food was terrible. A few had pizza, one had penne ala vodka which was overpowered with garlic. I have been going to Chapoquoit since it opened, sometime for sit down dinner, sometimes for their wood oven pizza which is of the thin crust variety. Had my first pizza of this season and very disappointed. Their pizza are thin and usually almost cracker crist and redolent of wood smoke, but this one was hardly cooked, flabby, and tasteless. Wonder if they are cutting back on the wood, of just having a careless night. The place is very busy and I wonder if they are cutting corners, but am quite disappointed in them and will try the new pizza place in town next time. read more

I am a local and have been here several times. Whatever you do DON'T get the John's special pizza. The description says it's a pizza with olive oil, goat cheese, carmelized onions and arugula. We were expecting a little of each topping - you know, like a normal pizza. We thought it was a joke when they brought it to us. It's like someone dumped an entire bucket of arugula on your pizza. You can't even see the pizza. The menu description does not indicate in any way that you are basically ordering a salad with a little crust beneath it. The waitstaff also doesn't help to tell you about this either when you order it. We sat at the bar and the bartender who waited on us was very uninformative and unhelpful. The other food is also pretty underwhelming. I'm never going there again. read more

The menu has not changed for years! same boring stuff, and the pizza's have gotten a lot smaller, but the prices are the same if not more. The food was bland, we had to keep adding salt and pepper. We asked for Parmesan cheese and you would have thought we asked for Money! We were told there would be a 20 minute wait, and to get a drink at the bar. When we tried to do that, there were not seats, and the line was 5 deep. The bar tenders barely looked at us. When we finally got to order, we had to ask for the wine list...big mistake, because now we were put at the back of the line what a joke!.... The wine list was good, but very expensive for a small glass of wine. When we finally got seated, the Jamaican hostess yelled at us, because she called us, and we didn't hear her because it was so LOUD. Before we left for the restaurant, we tried to call to make a reservation and the hostess kept hanging up on us...when I told her her the phone was not working she said rudely " I cannot handle the calls, so I hung up" nice, especially because they have take out. From the moment we walked in with our rather large party there was an aire of irritation (with the exception of the gracious hostesses)-perhaps because we all wanted to sit together -yet were seated apart for THEIR convenience at 5pm on a Saturday, or perhaps because we had our children with us..and how DARE we bring a birthday cake for our 14 year old! This is not a family friendly restaurant (don't let the pizza on the menu fool you!), nor is the food well-prepared. The wait staff behaved as though they were doing us a favor and they were particularly rude to our children who -on the contrary, were very well-behaved and respectful toward each other and the staff. When we addressed our concerns with the owner-or perhaps the manager, his response was lukewarm at best, so clearly he encourages this atmosphere. If you're in the mood for condescension and lack-luster food, go to this place. And it was overpriced too! read more

We ate in this restaurant years ago and enjoyed it every time but somehow it faded from our dining horizon. Last week we drove by Chappy's and decided we should go back. It was a totally different experience from before, and not in a positive way. My husband is gluten-free. I called Chappy's, not once, but twice, to confirm they served gluten-free pasta. My last contact told me they were expecting a delivery of GF pasta on Wednesday so we stopped by on Thursday evening. Guess what?...no GF pasta. And the only GF options on the menu were salad, one chicken dish and one steak. Because my husband is GF he eats a lot of chicken and steak and was really looking forward to some pasta. My manicotti was good but not good enough to make up for my husband's disappointing experience. Our waitress was pleasant and I realize it wasn't her fault if the GF pasta wasn't available, however, I felt she was a bit cavalier and could have been more sympathetic. So, to the owner of Chappy's I say, please respect your patrons' dietary needs and, if you say you provide certain foods, then plan ahead and make sure you have those items available. In fact, think about including a gluten free pizza since brick oven pizzas are a major menu item. To readers of this review, Chappy's food is good but not worth more than three stars in my opinion, especially if you have dietary considerations. There are so many excellent Italian restaurants on the Cape that consistently have GF pasta available that I'm not sure we will take a chance at Chappy's again. read more
