Such a great find in the Granite Run Promenade.! The roast beef sandwiches were done to perfection and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I had the roast beef special with coleslaw and Russian dressing and my husband had a traditional roast beef sandwich. both were excellent. We also had the famous banana pudding and it did not disappoint! The service was quick and efficient and the dining room was spacious and adhering to Covid safety precautions. I don't know how in the world this place got all these high ratings. The place is clean, yes. But the food is horrible! I probably have gotten spoiled by Mike's American Grill in VA or something! I ordered the ribs, baked beans and string beans. They give HUGE ribs but the ribs were so tough! My teeth were in pain after eating them. Also, the bbq sauce was too sweet and tangy. And as far as the sides go, those had to have been the worst string beans I have ever tasted. The string beans tasted like they just poured sugar in there. That's a no-no for me. I dont want my vegetables to be sweet. If I wanted sweets I would have just ordered some dessert. Never will I come here again! read more

Service was excellent and the pit beef sandwich was very well seasoned. They offer different toppings but as a first timer I got mine plain and used the condiments at the bar. The horseradish was delicious and not the creamy prepared stuff. I really liked the pepper relish too. The sauces were not my cup of tea however and the house BBQ tastes more like Arby's sauce mixed with ketchup than bbq sauce. I was also a little disappointed at the lack of mustards. My buddy and I wandered into this establishment for a mid-afternoon sammich and we were not disappointed. As with any good bbq place, we were punched in the nose with a lovely smoky aroma before we even entered the building. We both ordered the bulldog, a sammich consisting of fresh roast beef, an Italian sausage, and American cheese. Now, I'm from Chicago, so I've had my fair share of beef and sausage combos. However, this masterpiece was the best beef and sausage I've ever had. The use of American cheese gave the sammy a rich, zesty flavor that is unrivaled. For sides, we tasted the green bean/tomato stew and the mac and cheese. They even provided me with a cup to drink water at no charge! Although the food was great, the service was something special. The meals were served promptly and with a smile. Moreover, when my buddy left his phone at the restaurant, the owner personally went above and beyond to make sure the phone got back to him. We have family in DC and live in the Philadelphia area and this place is a great middle place to clean up and get some food and drinks esp when there is traffic. Love their pit beef sandwiches with a lot of tiger sauce and a touch of BBQ. It's great that they allow you to put whatever condiments you'd like which are lines up on the side. Their fries are amazing and ample. Clean bathrooms and we're able to refill our water bottles at the soda machines (they have tap water). Total win! read more

Wow!!! Just attempted to call in a order to pickup during the crisis we're all in and was greeted on the phone with nothing but displeasure for taking a order. I was passed back and forth between two ladies working and overheard one of them say "why'd she give me the phone." The attitude I was greeted with left me no choice but to cancel my order and hang up the phone. I grew up close to the original location and when I found out chaps opened a location in Aberdeen I was excited that my childhood favorite was close to where my family and I live. Stopped in on a trip up the east cost. Clean and inviting atmosphere. Great menu with plenty of options and sides. Liked the fact that the had a wide assortment of sauces and condiments available. The pickles were outstanding. We were there just ahead of the lunch rush line that was starting to grow. Looks like they have a good following in the local area. My husband and I came in for a quick dinner this evening. We have seen Guy's visit on D^3 and how much he loved it here. So, we were excited to try this new spot in Aberdeen. When we walked in, we smelled a god-awful charred smell. Okay, something got burnt we thought, no biggie. However, as we approached the ordering station, it was all a haze. The hazy cloud smelled of something terribly burnt and made it hard to be in. The lady at the front handed us the menu but it was so disgustingly smelly and hazy that we couldn't stand to stay in there any longer. We peaced out. Unfortunately, we never got to try anything which we would have liked to. But, that stank was nasty. Maybe we'll head back, but who knows? read more

Not Texan approved. If you are expecting BBQ, this is not it (unless having BBQ sauce qualifies). It's a roast beef sandwich. Wanna know why it doesn't smell like smoked meat outside? It's because there's no smoked meat inside. The Mac n cheese was ok, the sweet tea was good, the baked beans weren't that good, the fries were soggy even before they put their cheese wiz on top of them. It lacks the "shack in front of a strip club" ambiance but makes up for it with a clean comfortable atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating and TV's showing sports.
