    Beef Sandwich

Visiting chaps pit beef in Aberdeen, Maryland on the drive back from New York. It was OK good not great, I had the beef sandwich and I added tomatoes and lettuce to be more healthy. I don't usually eat red meat or beef. This was a little bit fatty meat wasn't too tasty, but maybe I could've added some hot sauce. I guess it was OK, sure.

If you like the taste of beef, this spot's for you. I arrived around lunchtime with 3 coworkers and immediately joined a fast-moving line. Their huge menu with lots of sides on several walls lets you decide while you wait. With plenty of seating, my group easily found a table. I got the Maryland specialty of a Pit Beef Sandwich with my choice of medium rare shaved beef. It had really simple seasoning where the beef flavor shined through and it was a very manageable-sized sandwich. It can come with onions but I didn't get them this time and they're a good idea. I also picked up a Cornbread that was good but I wished it was warm. In any case, Chaps Pit Beef is good pit stop. NOTES/TIPS: **Plenty of parking in their own shared lot. **Wheelchair-accessible.

Even though they were busy on a Sunday afternoon - we got our food fast and everything was so good! Chaps never lets us down!!!

Was driving thru town and decided to stop here because I seen good reviews, I was happily surprised. It wasn't busy but you can tell it is a popular place. They have a few tvs and indoor/outdoor seating. The pit beef was so good! One of the best sandwiches I have had hands down. I loved it. The fries were okay, but I am not a fan of fresh cut fries. Also I had the baked beans and they were awesome. I wish I ordered more of that than the fries. I can't wait to go back to try some more stuff! Worth a stop!

Best place for pit beef, pit ham, pit turkey sandwiches. They have delicious boardwalk fries and the wings looked good as well. A Pepsi restaurant for drinks. If you are not from Maryland, add some Old Bay to your fries to a kick and spice.

#52 Special: Corned Beef, Ham, Beef, and Cheese. And I always throw some sliced onions and horseradish sauce on mine. The best!

I love Chap's and usually go to the original on Pulaski. I was driving through Baltimore and the original wasn't open yet but by the time I hit Aberdeen this location was. I went inside just after the doors opened. It's really big, plenty of seating. The staff was just as friendly as on Pulaski (except Bob isn't there handing out food) and the food was also just as good. If they had a bar this place would be the best. But even without alcohol available they're still one of my favorite spots. I'm happy to see that they were able to expand and still keep the food, service and staff the same. Definitely a stop if you're within a few hours.

I was very specific with my order I guess they did the best they could? I'm willing to try one more time before I give a yes or no verdict. At the current moment I'm giving them a maybe. I asked for sausage to be over cooked almost hurt and for my bread to be toasted. It was not the way I asked I had to take it home and do it myself

Chaps is a regional treasure. People know about Chaps. Smoky meats on a bun. Onions are included, but lettuce tomato and other toppings are extra and you have to order them. Ordering had a long line but was fast. The cashier lady was very nice. I got the Guy's Triple D - pit beef, corned beef, and sausage. Tell her how rare you eant the pit beef. I recommend not going more than medium. Very generous portions of meat on a soft sub roll. They have various bbq sauces and tiger sauce on the counter. Pickles as well. Free refills on drinks. Sandwich was 11.55. Drink 3.40. About 15.85 after tax. A great lunch option if you're in the area.

This is way too raw for medium!

Food is very good, it was fast paced in there. Will definitely come back again. Wish there was one in Dover.

Worst pork ribs ever! They were tough and basically inedible, not worth the exorbitant price (4 to 5 bones per pound). Stay away.

    Do they sell charcoal?

Not that I saw either at the Baltimore or Aberdeen locations.

Would have given this location a 3/5 but…read more.. So if you are visiting Aberdeen, you notice that decent food is few and far between. They have plenty of fast food locations, random diners that serve who knows what, gas stations, etc. All the good restaurants are a town away. So if you are visiting Aberdeen, you notice that this Panera is packed like crazy at lunch. I visited this place two days in a row because I suddenly became a Panera member (not a big fan otherwise as I don't go to Panera on a regular basis but I always take advantage of store benefits if it just means me filling out my contact info and registering) and I like getting discounts and free food lol. On both days I had to wait over 10 min for my food. It was good, but it gets annoying when you are wasting your lunch break watching everyone else eat. Didn't say anything or complain. I noticed today that Panera noticed my wait time through their systems and since I'm a Panera member now and gave me a huge $ reward for next visit. It pays to be patient or at least it pays to be a Panera card member!

The express pickup, for example, isn't very express, and you'll often wait 5-10 minutes extra for your food to find out it was just waiting around getting cold. I still come here, the food is still good. The ambiance is nice, and it's a convenient place to meet friends or have a meetup with a group. You just have to know exactly what you're getting into I guess, and order earlier than you might think you need to lol.

That all happened today plus we wanted to introduce our friends to the restaurant. Olivia, our server, was the best. She had a fantastic personality and really made us feel so welcomed and at home. Brenda, you have a star here! We started off with an order of Fried Onion Rings. They were fried to perfection - were huge and were very tasty. Our friends ordered a Grilled Turkey Reuben on Rye Bread loaded with sliced turkey, sauerkraut, 1000 Island dressing, and melted Swiss cheese and a Mamie's Open Faced Hot Sandwich with a huge amount of fresh-baked Turkey Breast topped with gravy and another huge amount of mashed potatoes (check out the pictures). I enjoyed my favorite sandwich, which is Mamie's Favorite Triple Decker Shrimp Salad and Crab Cake Club with chips. My husband was taken aback with the size of his Country Fried Steak and mashed potatoes. Everyone had something to take home with them. The portions are more than generous. The one thing that Mamie's always does that makes them stand out from all the other restaurants is that they give you a free dessert. We were all so full, we took our to go. We took 2 rice puddings and 2 cinnamon cakes home to enjoy later. We had a great time a Mamie's!

Their decor is truly unique, and calling it eclectic isn't doing the interior justice. Every inch of Mamie's oozes Americana, and celebrates Aberdeen's past. Awesome photos, hilarious knick-knacks and items, and history is on full display. Loved their fun theme. Our meal was very good, and our server Tyler did a good job on an extremely busy night. My Meat Loaf meal was delicious, and the baked potato plus carrots were yummy. My dining partner loved her Stuffed Shrimp, potato salad, and beets.
