Ordered drive though, repeated order but completely wrong when we got to the window. Absolutely rude and got defensive. When we finally got our food we were trying to check the food and see if it was right. They swung the window asking us if the order was right.... like calm down. Let us just finish looking first. We weren't even there for 30 seconds. We missed two fries and then they added two extra Sierra Mist.. but even before they got the order right they already charged us then told us they gave us our 58 cents back.. yeah never coming back. I've heard lots of people say how great the one in Raleigh is, so when we saw one in Benson we thought we'd give it a try. It looks new and is very clean inside. However, that's all they have going for them. The workers weren't friendly, the food wasn't that good for the price (we all got burgers) and they forgot to make our milkshakes. Char Grill is just like the great food on Hillsborough Street near NCSU except there is air conditioned seating. They have the best hamburger (my choice is the junior) in the southeast bar none. This is the 4th time I have purchased food at this Chargrill and have been disappointed the last 2 times for one very simple reason. I do not understand why ONIONS are put on a burger when they are not ordered. I can not even rationalize how DICED onions can be mistaken for lettuce. How about you put onions on one side of the toppings and lettuce on the other. When I bite down on one bit of onion, the entire burger is ruined. The amount of money I alone have spent on SUB-PAR fast food is ridiculous. I thought CharGrill was a step up from Hard-ly's and CrapDonald's but I was wrong. Chargrill is no better. read more

This was a nice change from the usual fast food. We stopped in for a burger and shake while also taking a bathroom break in the middle of a long drive to Virginia. The food was great except for the same old chopped iceberg lettuce served by all the other places. The Char-Grilled burgers really made a difference even though the bun and fixings were common place. Ok I don't like chain places usually. But I think Burger King would have been better and probably cost less. We ordered Two BLTs and two jr steak burgers. Husband ordered his steak burger with just mayo tomato and mustard. So they gave him that and mine with nothing. They asked twice if we wanted mayo on the BLTs. We said yes both times. Food is always cooked correctly and the service is fast both in the drive thru and inside. Unlike most fast food chains, Char-Grill actually gets my order correct in the drive thru and doesn't forget items. The inside is clean and comfortable and the employees are friendly. My wife and I are huge char grill fans and typically frequent the location on strickland near six forks! Today we were headed to Myrtle beach and needed a lunch stop - my wife wanted quick as in burgers. We decided on a national chain and then the exit sign says "Char Grill" !! Love love love the Benson store layout, no slips - no having to ask for salt, pepper, katchup etc... So my closing comment is - RENOVATE the remaining stores!! It probably would have been four stars except the guy that took our order apparently didn't hear us say we wanted meals so we didn't get fries, my girlfriend went back and told him so she was charged for fries not the price difference. read more

Really a great burger, fries and milkshake place conveniently located just off I-95. We split their 8 ounce Steak Burger (a big hamburger). You get your choice of toppings. The meat was tasty and quality. The fries were perfectly cooked. They were very accommodating of the little guy with us and mad him a special request grilled cheeses with bacon. read more

DELICIOUS! I couldn't believe how amazing everything tasted. Please try the chili cheese fries they were so good I never wanted them to end. Their burgers are so juicy and they fries are awesome! One thing to be careful is when you're driving in and out, there is a HUGE dip on the curb so go slowly so you don't hurt your vehicle. read more

I went in last night and had a fairly large order. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Not only was the food made quickly, but when we got home, everything was right and in the bag! We stopped here off of 95S...nice and clean little place. Counter staff was kind and knowledgeable of menu. We ordered the 8oz steak burger which was cooked just right! We made it a combo with French fries and sweet tea! All very good! Condiment bar was fresh and well stocked. We got our food to go which only took a few minutes and we were able to get back on the road quickly. I wouldn't go as far to say it's THE BEST, but it's pretty damn good! Everything tasted fresh and the onion rings and French fries were perfectly done. Just watch out when you leave!!!!!! Today was my first time of course because I'm from Maryland the staff is so sweet and this restaurant is very clean the bathroom even smells like a flower bouquet. The food was ok the onion rings are really good. The southern hospitality was something I'm not use to since most people up north are not were welcoming.
