While I'm happy that the Buckeye chocolate in chardon seems to be doing well and has expanded and improved I don't like social justice with my coffee. I went in a week ago to get a special treat for my wife which was a breakfast sandwich and a mocha. I got the same thing. The fellow that took my order was seemingly nice enough. But I couldn't help but notice his "student power" button and Palestinian flag on his shirt. Why would any company allow a customer facing employee to express their personal political beliefs on their clothing while at work? The only thing that this can do is breed divisiveness and contempt which is exactly what it did. But let's get to the food first. I ordered a sausage and egg sandwich on a bagel and it seems that the attention to detail and overall prep has declined. The reason I say this is that they make their eggs ahead of time in a casserole format which ordinarily if prepared correctly tastes pretty darn good. However my sandwich, and my wife's sandwich or actually unheated when it came to the meat and egg portion. Meaning that whatever device they used to warm it up I'm presuming a microwave they did not do it long enough and therefore my breakfast sandwich was cold. Not a huge ordeal I can just take it home and microwave it which is what I did. Naturally it made an underwhelming breakfast experience. The coffee was okay it's a mocha you really can't screw it up too badly. Of course this establishment is a spend the iPad around and it's going to ask you a few questions to solicit a tip. As a rule if I'm standing up while ordering you do not get a tip. Fact that they solicitative just makes me incensed. Then you're soliciting a tip while expressing your political beliefs whatever they are closes the lid of my returning to this place. Ever. I called a friend who I knew was on the way to Buckeye chocolate and said give me a call when you're done and let me know what you think of your experience I'm going to write a Yelp review. You know what he said? Why the hell do they allow their employees to wear that?? I told him my experience we both feel the same way that cold egg sandwiches served with a side of social justice and political opinions do not make for a good breakfast. We will not be returning. I wish them the best of luck in selling their one-sided political beliefs is a good marketing plan for coffee. read more

It's a great place but a bit lacking don't offer gluten free when basically everytime I go you're always out of the bread and I go super often, also they use the same scoop for the chocolates so there is contamination for nuts and gluten for the chocolates so I personally cannot partake in the chocolate. I like chocolate places that still use parchment paper to grab their goods. Besides that their coffee is good not that strong but tasty, I do prefer other cafes overall though read more

Visiting from out of town. I found this cafe and I was intrigued. My order consisted of a gingerbread latte and a butternut squash salad. The cafe worker was very courteous when taking my order. I was given a number. My drink and food were delivered to my table. The latte tasted great. The syrup was not overpowering, so there was still a strong coffee flavor. It was very smooth, not bitter or acidic. The butternut said was a pleasant surprise. The ingredients were fresh and the dressing was flavorful. Will revisit this cafe the next time I am in the area. read more

But that side, no one was wearing any obvious partisan guard when I was there, and the coffee continues to be fabulous, and the chocolate is the best in Cleveland. Again at 2:00 the parking was full. I got a coffee and scone at the drive-thru. The window ladies were so nice. Coming here was so convenient in the winter as I was driving through Chardon. The shop doesn't have donuts. It does have dessert treats. On the menu posted on the outside wall were items for breakfast and lunch, bakery items, and lots of hot and cold drinks. The blueberry and lemon scone I purchased was fresh, soft, and the best flavor I've ever had. Delicious! I ordered an Americano coffee, and they made it fresh. Totally five stars. read more

Went through the drive thru today for lunch, I got the Chicken Sandwich that has grapes, sprouts, tomatoes, Chicken Salad, Celery, and almonds in it, along with a black tea infused with honey and lavender! Everything was delicious as always. What I really appreciate most is the fact that they are very eco friendly, the drink straws are 100% compostable and if you eat inside they give you a metal straw. Even the sandwich boxes are eco friendly. I will also add that they give you very good portion sizes ( filling up sandwich ) so you get what you pay for. Pricing is also very good! I love supporting local businesses and this is one of my favorites! I do prefer the Bainbridge location if I am eating inside but the staff is so warm and friendly at both locations! This is a nice coffee shop that serves lunch/brunch food and a variety of chocolates. The staff is very friendly and they have unique latte flavors. The interior space is very nice and clean with mellow relaxing music. There are many places to sit as they have lots of seating and extra rooms to sit in. They do a great job with the latte art which is hard to find in the area. If you want a great place to work or relax with fancy coffee then this is the place to go! read more

I've gotten OK service and good breakfast in the past but yesterday was horrific. Service was lame, but the tea I got was syrup, no tea. I had them make me a new and different one, which was better but not worth the cost. My friend got an 8 dollar salad that was rancid. We pointed this out to management and eve asked her to try it (I did too - it was bad) and she refused saying "we make it fresh daily". Refused to remake or substitute it and my friend ended up leaving it sitting on the table with 3 bites from it - waste of food and money! Last time I'll ever stop there!!!!!!!!! read more

This is such a gem in Chardon! I stopped by after work one day and was pleasantly surprised! There are a couple rooms instead with plenty of places to sit and work or hangout with friends! They also have so many goodies! I had a blueberry scone and a peppermint mocha, both were so delicious! The mocha was one of the best I have ever had! The next time I am here, I am certainly going to try some chocolate or different baked good. I am so happy that I decided to stop in, I think I have found my new favorite coffeeshop close to home! read more

Shares a driveway with the Quick Lube place next door, but otherwise is in a good location. Chocolates are so smooth and delicious and coffee is well roasted as well. Prices are a bit high, but worth the price. Sad the location in Burton closed, but glad this one is thriving! read more

This was our first stop for the final day of our trip to Chardon. We didn't think ahead super well and didn't consider that many places were closed on Sundays, however Buckeye was highly recommended to us as a great place for breakfast and coffee! My boyfriend & I got the avocado and harvest toasts. The bread was toasted, super grain-y, and delicious. Was a great platform for the tasty and fresh toppings. Avocado, bean sprouts, goat cheese, & roasted veggies! Both toasts were great and I'd 100% get them again the next time we visit Chardon. The coffee & cappuccino's were ordered were great as well. I only wish we'd seen their coffee cocktail list before ordering...the chai Russian looked amazing! They have an assortment of pastries, chocolates, and treats for sale as well. We love this place! It's a more modern coffee shop with a rustic feel and the only problem we have is that it's too far from our apartment! They have live music on many Saturdays, free flavored water, and fantastic truffles. We have eaten from their menu on three separate occasions and have never been disappointed. The menu changes, because they use seasonal ingredients, but it is always unique and has vegetarian-friendly options. Also, delicious drinks. P.s. Excellent food, horrible and I mean horrible service! If I didn't love their vegan and vegetarian options, I would never spend my money here! Every single time I have dined here, the service has been less than stellar. Perhaps my standards are high because I am a business owner and I would never treat a customer the way the staff treats customers but yesterday was twilight zone. I walked in to pick up an online order. The staff, whom was on their phones in a huddle over the counter talking with a friend, looked over at me, pointed to another employee who was actually working and proclaimed "There is someone over there." Referring to me waiting 12 inches from her. When the employee walked over to me and I mentioned that I was picking up my online order that should have been ready 10 minutes ago, she looked back and said "Oh, that should be ready soon." 20 minutes later, my online order was ready. Great place to eat! We go here at least one Sunday a month. My wife and I always get the warm grain bowls- they changed it to a golden version of the regular bowl..so delicious and nutritious and the dressing is awesome! Our little son gets the breakfast sandwich with sausage egg and cheese on a bagel- it's huge and he loves it!Our daughter gets the avocado toast (she loves it!) and a muffin- she got poppyseed today, it was so good! Our other son gets the chicken Caesar salad - smoothies berry today and iced flavored coffee is great and their hot coffees and fresh and delicious, house and single origin always available! Stopped by for a quick lunch this week and the salad I ordered was unique and delicious. I think it was an Italian salad with curried chickpeas. It was so tasty I really used very little dressing. Lattes are good, their overnight oats are awesome and very filling. My only complaint is that it takes FOREVER to order in their drive through...like, I've been stuck there with no way to just leave for 45 minutes forever. No one should have to wait 45 min just to order coffee in a drive through they can't pull away from and it's happened three times I've ordered there. If you order, just go inside. read more

This spot was recommended by many! Walking in, the building is very clean and all the tables were filled which is always a good sign! I did not order any food but I did get coffee and chocolate. I ordered a pistachio iced latte and it was good! Nothing spectacular though. You could definitely taste the pistachio but not the coffee which was a bit disappointing. The gingerbread latte definitely had ginger but it was missing some cinnamon and nutmeg flavors. The chocolates however were amazing and deserve a 5/5.
