Always good coffee. Typical bakery you'd find in most coffee shops. Odd dining room layout is very narrow and long. Difficult to have groups. Biggest problem is the same everywhere, the room is full of people with a cup of coffee and their laptop taking up tables for hours. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but that just doesn't seem like a profitable business model. read more

The line was long on a Sunday morning NBC, but it moved quickly and the staff were very friendly. The choices for breakfast foods, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, and donuts were plentiful. We went with a few donuts, a couple bagels, and iced lattes. All were delicious! Apparently this building is an old general store for the city of Willoughby. They did a great job of making this a business for the modern century while still keeping a lot of the historical aspects. While I didn't get a chance to go upstairs because it was reserved, the signs said you can rent the second story for parties, showers, etc. I imagine it would be just as charming as the first floor. read more

I wanted to update from my last review, as I have been here a few times since. Recently I ordered the Chocolate Chip Pancake Hot Chocolate and omg it is the best hot drink you will find. Truly tastes like chocolate chip pancakes. I can't recommend that enough. I come here just for that drink. Alyssa is always so warm and welcoming and makes great drinks! The only complaints I have are the lack of seating options inside. It's irritating wanting to find a seat with family or friends and can't because people will take up a whole table with their computer to work and there will be no room left to sit unless you go outside and even then there is limited seating and with winter here obviously no one is eating outside. This place has a good vibe to it - on a cute street in Willoughby with that coffee shop ambience...what was a bit annoying is that you had to BUY something in order to get the WiFi code which I have never heard of. The English breakfast tea was recommended to me by the cashier and it was mid tbh. The coffee looks a bit "fake starbucksy" but I guess I can't judge because I didn't try it. Overall I don't reckon I'd come here again and will stick to other local coffee joints - who knows where the wind will blow me though. read more

They have upped their food game since I had last been there years ago, and this time I got a breakfast sandwich bagel that was delicious! Fiona's is a happening place on a Saturday morning. There are multiple tables to sit inside but they were almost all full the entire time my group was there, with a line nearly to the door! It seems as though there are a lot of younger families in the area that frequent this spot. It's the little things for me that really made me happy- i used to come to this spot years ago and they had horrible styrofoam cups, they were incredibly flimsy and wasteful. This place was so disappointing. My latte was super weak and my husband's was not drinkable. Who has heard of a Mexican Mocha being made with chocolate milk and cayenne? It just doesn't make any sense. On top of that, they have the blue lives matter flag hanging as well as crosses and Jesus stuff around. Definitely not the type of vibe I want in a coffee shop. The service was extremely friendly and with it being busy, it came out relatively quickly. It has the classic coffee shop vibe and plenty of seating. My only point of contention would be the food prices. Understandably, egg prices are up so they have no choice but $8 dollars for a sandwich seems steep to me. We love Fiona's! Located in beautiful Downtown Willoughby. My family and I have been here a few times. Their location is cozy and cute. They have a room in the back where you can hold a meeting, a gathering, etc. Today was a beautiful day to be out. My hubby and I decided to sit outside. I had their lavender honey iced latte. The latte was ok... It had more of the thick honey flavor vs lavender. I love Lavender flavor and it's big during spring. To pair with my iced latte, I had an onion bagel with cream cheese. I am an Ohio University student & Willoughby native! I came here today on my Spring Break to get some work done, and ordered a lavender lemonade. The drink was okay -- a bit pricey for what you get in my opinion. The atmosphere inside is nice. Lots of natural lighting with a rustic feel. I was, however, taken back when I was approached by one of the employees. While the girl who took my order was kind, this older lady accused me of loitering in the establishment, saying I needed to "buy something or go somewhere else"... This is all while I have a drink clearly sitting next to me, and tipped them $5 on my $6 drink. Her tone quickly changed after she realized how silly she looked. She tried to take it back and even ask me if I had liked what I ordered, but the damage was already done. I am not sure if she just wanted me to leave, or if she wanted to embarrass me. Regardless, I will not be returning. There are other amazing coffee shops in DTW and the surrounding areas -- go spend your hard eanred $$$ elsewhere! read more

Did I miss anything? I probably did but you get this jist. Staff was friendly. They had no more medium roast coffee brewed so I had to wait for them to brew some. No big deal, I was in no hurry. I just got a 16oz drip coffee and a slice of banana cake to go for later. Do yourself a favor, eat banana cake if they have it available that day. Omg so good! Grab the biggest slice they got! You will thank me later. All their goodies looked good. There was a sign that said they have a plant based cheesecake. Sounds interesting. I had enough vegan food that day at VegFest. I wanted the real thing! There is plenty of seating and there is free WiFi!! Great place to come do work, meet up with friends, or just relax and chill by yourself like I do a lot. A nice, standard coffee shop. Plenty of seating, large open windows that let the light in, and free wifi to get work done! They have a large offering of standard coffee shop fare, seasonal lattes, and sandwiches. The coffee is from Rising Star and the quality really shows! Plus, the prices are quite reasonable. The baked goods were great as well. My friend, who had a slice of chocolate chip pumpkin bread, said it melted in her mouth, so go for some of that if you're unsure of what to pick from the bakery case. Me and my friend went to Fiona's looking for something to eat and when we walked in and ordered the cashier with a mullet with purple hair was very rude. She stated to me and my friend as we were ordering the kitchen closed at 2 which was not a problem but the way she spoke to us was a problem. She was very rude giving us dirty looks after rudely saying the kitchen closed at 2 which we understood and said okay so as we tried to look at the pastries she was standing there looking at us with very dirty looks. I have had 2 good bagel sandwiches there, so far. The service is really slow and the employees seemed to be confused about who is doing what. Also, not sure where order pick up is located. Today, I ordered avacado toast to go. I threw it all away. Not toasted and soggy. It looked extremely unappetizing, as depicted in the attached picture. This place has a lot of potential if they can focus on specialty coffee and brewing techniques and offering a few delicious, well-made items. No worries, we stopped right next door at the Wild Goose for lunch and came right back over with a 10% off coupon with our receipt! The second time around there was no line and a few open tables. My mom got a chai latte while I stuck with a regular latte - both were tasty! We each got two of the adorable mini donuts and they tasted so fresh and delicious. I grew up near downtown Willoughby and went to this location as a kid, when it was the Willoughby Hardware store, so this place is a bit special to me. I liked it when it was Arabica, but wanted to check out what the fanfare was all about with the arrival of Fiona's. I went on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, so the place was busy. Placing an order was not an issue, but where to stand while I waited was a bit problematic as orders piled up and lines got longer. I didn't want to crowd patrons, so I tried to stand a bit down towards the restrooms. I ordered coffee and mini doughnuts. I had to swim through a crowd of people when my order was ready, and that was awkward. The coffee had good flavor, but the mini doughnuts, for $2.50, were nothing special--six tiny, plain, bite-sized doughnuts (smaller than Hostess mini doughnuts you can buy in the grocery store) that were just okay. The doughnuts are not a good value and it's my general impression most people get them because they are a novelty and not because they are unique in flavor. I did not feel very welcomed there that day, maybe because it seemed like everyone behind the counter looked frantic trying to keep up with the line of orders, but I wasn't impressed enough to want to return. read more

After my last visit at Starbucks, I want to up my rating of Fiona's to a solid 4 1/2 shiny stars. Ever notice that the tail end of a Starbucks latte tastes like burnt cigarettes? That hasn't happen here. THANK you Fiona! Came in to get some work done with Superfly today. We both got the Medium Vanilla Ice (Ice, Baby) latte. It was perfectly sweetened, silky-milky smooth. "Perfect work fuel." Also, got a macaron in pumpkin pie flavor and now I feel like I'm ready to accept the end of summer. If it's gonna herald more of these nutmeg-y warm flavors in the coming months, baby, count me in! Fiona's is located at the corner of the first or last block of what most would consider the core of Downtown Willoughby. It all depends on your direction of entry. I can't tell you how incredibly disappointed I am with my experience at this coffee shop. I will give it another chance but it is important to know that my first experience was horrible and most people wouldn't come back. Six days ago on a Saturday (approximately 2pm-ish) I took my dad to this coffee shop because I had been raving about it and we were in Willoughby for a separate occasion. The last time I visited this coffee shop it was owned by a different person or company. The place is still beautiful it's still big and I love the actual building. But the service was so bad I'm actually quite pissed off about it. The two girls behind the counter were literally doing nothing but standing there, they did not smile, were not welcoming, didn't not offering any kind of suggestions or ideas or specials but they did offer up some attitude (the one that served the worst attitude wore glasses) And when they showed impatience while my 80-year-old father was placing his order...it took everything I had not to tell them off. We were going to order two sandwiches and some drinks only to find out... (after we waited in line with our masks on and social distancing) the kitchen is closed". My dad who is diabetic hadn't eaten in four hours and was becoming a bit foggy. I said really? the kitchen is closed? Shoot his sugar is low and could use some food, the told use to walk down the road to another place. (Yea but his sugar is low - that posed a risk). OK so my dad gets a Coffee I get nothing because I'm pissed off and after he checks out they don't say thank you they don't say anything but then I look and I see you next to me a whole case of scones and cookies and muffins and there's bags of potato chips. Here's what annoys me, they could've offered! To say to us well the kitchen is closed BUT there's still plenty of other things you can get here...like everything you see in this case, or the potato chips, or this or that. The bagels are so soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside - similar to all NYC bagels. Totally beats going to Bruegger's.. and I'm a HUGE fan of Bruegger's.
