When we walked in, I can't tell you how excited we were to see it in the cooler. The top book was chocolate and the bottom layer was lemon blueberry. It was easy to separate the two flavors for serving. The lemon blueberry layer was absolutely fantastic (I was too full for chocolate after!), great lemon flavor and a generous filling of a blueberry preserve. I enjoyed both the colored fondant and the butter cream frosting, and it was just the right amount. They helped us load and were super friendly during pick up. Very responsive, helpful and accommodating. Picking vendors during COVID-19 can be very challenging. We were unable to do a tasting in-person, so Sam got creative with a cake tasting to-go box for us to pick-up and taste on our own. She packaged it up really cute and helped us not feel like we were missing out on a step of fun wedding planning. As a Bride, when you're balancing a million vendors to have someone who is kind and super on top of it to alleviate some stress, it's huge! She dropped off the cake on time and even worked with our florist to bring all the elements all together for us so I could mentally check it off my list. I can't thank her enough. She said yes and gave us a price...we settled on the pick up date and paid on line. "Easy peasy lemon squeeze" as my 15 yr old would say. I have to admit I was nervous the day we scheduled to pick up the cake. My wife talked about a show called "Nailed it ", and how this cake (for our daughters first bday) could go the way of the cakes on the show...in other words badly...we were both nervous. Like a true professional the cake was in an amazing box wrapped with ribbon and a candle...the cake looked so amazing we almost cried. Of course it tasted perfect. Everything about the cake was impressive...everyone who attend the party was impressed lots of o's and ah's to go around...for the cake. When it came time to try the cakes, we selected around 5 top rated cake places to try in the area. Frosted Cake Art was one of them. Mind you, before I review the cakes, know that Seema (Frosted Cake Art) is a home based business going up against long standing bakers, and the wedding venue itself which has over a dozen fine dining restaurants. We cannot complain about the other venues we sampled, however Seema's cakes were an obvious cut above the rest. "The Cake Tasting" itself was a beautiful experience, trying several frostings, cake types, and many fillings. Elegant and organized "The cakes" are consistently moist while still keeping their interior structure. We like to headline that point. Rare "The frostings" are ALL good. no alkaline taste, no granules, no empty taste, not hard like cold butter, nor are they too light and whippy. Smoothest texture you have ever experienced. Rare "The fillings" are exceptional. We wanted to use everyone of them. Even the more dramatic flavors we considered, although we didn't come in to the tasting thinking we would. All-in-all, for a small 75 person wedding, we decided to go with a multi flavored, 5 layer behemoth of a cake because we just wanted everyone to experience greatness. Greatness, folks Seema is a true professional. Seamless Seema. Aside from being a good baker, she has an excellent format of execution that sees the job through from beginning to end. She is patient and literally listens and applies all the details. She uses digital and actual templates throughout the process, willing to change and offer advice. Some fancy decorations we used....One was a "floating" top layer, giving a great effect. Another was a false cake layer where there was a statue of the bride and groom in a tunnel. She molded the bride and groom to spec. Seema used a picture of us both, plus a picture of the wedding dress. It was spot on and we plan on preserving this for life. God bless you, Seema.
