Okay I will start by saying I did not finish the in patient portion of this program. I decided I…read morewas misplaced and am planning on doing out patient. I checked myself out today after 1 of the 4 weeks completed. I read a lot of the reviews posted and can say my experience is not of that of these 1 star reviews. Now I would like to start off with all positive things. Pros: 1 food excellent 2 caring and sincere staff 3 targeted therapy taylored toward your unique trauma and situation. 4 safe and clean environment. 5 respect given to all needs and privacy within reason. 6 propper facilities and hygiene stuff. Cons: 1 carpet is old but commercial last forever (really didn't bother me) 2 mattress absolute garbage. Warn out and spring style. (Really did bother me but I'm kinda a mattress snob) 3 I felt cornered when I voiced that I wanted to leave, felt they just would not hear it. Continually pressuring me to stay, Which almost envoked violence (had to raise voice and get shitty and I don't like to). I was circled by 2 staff members and 2 patients and grilled for about 15 min on why I should stay. Now, I do not have a superiority complex. When you know your not in the right place you know. I own a home here in Tacoma, have things that I underestimated would run on auto pilot while I was away. I felt I could get the same amount of therapy and sleep in my bed with my dog through out patient. So I think more care should be taken at assessment when choosing if a patient is indeed in need of "IN" patient. I volunteered to do the live in, don't get me wrong. If more digging in to my living situation was done I feel we could have agreed on an outpatient formula which I am planning to start with them tommorow.(Will update review when I graduate that). One question I didn't get an answer to (but we all know the answer) was to my counselor, "Has there ever been one person over assessed and enter in patient therapy when outpatient was satisfactory?". Now I've ran businesses and I understand empty beds don't pay the bills. All and all this was a good experience. They let me go (when I got shitty and a lil loud which I later apologized for). Staff is very caring and related to my situation with empathy. I'm sober AF and staying that way. Thank you prosperity.

My counselor Becky was the sweetest most down to earth lady and I was so blessed to have her in my corner. The BHTs were so awesome and I felt truly supported by them. The food was great and is made with love by the lovely kitchen staff, Justin and Corbin. There was honestly only one staff that I had any type of issue with, and she was higher up the chain so I didn't have to see her every day. I made friendships that I hope will last a very long time. I'm at 48 days today, thanks to my incredible family and friends, and prosperity wellness center. Would recommend.

My experience with Greater Lakes Mental Healthcare during my internship process was extremely…read moredisappointing and emotionally exhausting. I entered the experience excited to learn, grow professionally, and receive guidance as a Clinical Mental Health Counseling student. Unfortunately, my experience did not feel supportive, educational, or encouraging. A large part of my concerns involved the supervision and overall communication I experienced, specifically involving the main supervisor, Bill, and Duc Cao. During meetings, Duc Cao often appeared supportive and at times seemed to come to my defense in conversations involving Bill. However, what was communicated to me verbally during meetings often did not align with what was later documented. This created significant confusion, stress, and a growing sense of mistrust throughout the internship process. As a student trying to learn and grow professionally, it was extremely difficult navigating an environment where I felt I was receiving mixed messages and inconsistent communication. Rather than feeling guided and mentored, I frequently felt overwhelmed, emotionally distressed, and uncertain about where I stood. One thing I found especially concerning was the apparent focus on whether or not I planned to pursue licensure after graduation. In my opinion, no supervisor should hold concerns, bias, or negative assumptions toward an intern based on their future career decisions or whether they choose to pursue licensure. An intern's long-term career plans do not determine their value, professionalism, or dedication within their school program, and those decisions should never be used against them in an internship setting. As a nontraditional student who has spent years working toward my education while balancing family, work, and community responsibilities, this experience had a significant emotional impact on me. Internship placements should be environments where students can safely ask questions, learn from mistakes, and develop professionally through honest and transparent supervision. Instead, this experience negatively affected my confidence, emotional well-being, and trust in the process. I believe mental health organizations, especially those involved in training future professionals, should place a strong focus on transparency, ethical supervision, supportive leadership, and consistent communication. Students deserve to feel respected, supported, and safe within their learning environments. I sincerely do not want another intern to experience the confusion, stress, and emotional exhaustion that I experienced throughout this process. My intention in sharing this review is not to attack anyone personally, but to encourage reflection and improvement in how interns and developing professionals are treated and supported moving forward. Despite this experience, I remain passionate about the counseling profession and committed to helping others. I simply believe honesty, accountability, and ethical mentorship are essential when working with future mental health professionals.

I was dealing with a lot and having a hard time solidifying paperwork with Heidi in a timely manner. So I definitely understand why she would be frustrated. What is ridiculous to me is how a supposed therapist would be so rude and unprofessional. What kind of professional makes assumptions and judgmental statements especially in a profession dealing with people struggling with anxiety and depression. Heidi said to me "Seriously dude - no reply to texts and emails from August 10th to now/ August 29, and you weren't in jail or an ICU and I'm the problem?" (see photos of email).

After explaining to her the circumstances of my absence, I requested a one-time courtesy waiver, which she declined and then a courtesy fee reduction, which she also declined. I respected her decision and paid the fee and she sent an apology text that includes some typos so I replied with a question mark and she blew up on me and claimed I was harassing her. Her reply included an "OMG" in it because she was frustrated I didn't assume what her typos meant. I would've considered still working with her even after paying the $100 no-show fee, but after her blow-up reply, absolutely not and I wouldn't recommend anyone else work with her. Completely rude and unprofessional.
